Heh, funny you should mention that...

PS I made it into a Steelclaw list! My CoH fandom is forever assured.

Maybe if we ask reeeeeeeeally nice and are lucky then Zwillinger will share the original powerpoint after the FPS is over.

Finished with video that failed to load during the powerpoint. Apparently it is a work-in-progress still missing FX and sounds.

FPS now on break for 90 minute lunch.

A huge thanks again to Zwillinger for sharing on Ustream!!

eth_Nargy - Someone was asking if there could be a random face option in AE so that they didn't have to use as much story memory on similar-but-different minions. The devs said it was a great idea for them in the regular game, too.

My favorite so Q&A answer: Hat booster pack!

I vote we get Zwillinger's hats, too.

Make facial features randomized to use up less memory space in AE? The devs say answer that it's a really cool idea.

Update: Brandon thinks it's possible (even not hard!) to make global salvage storage.

First up: Guy in front who is in the way half the time, but at least we get to hear the Ustream! Thank you, Zwillinger!!

  10. Voting results are currently at...

    Hat -A-: 4 points

    Hat -B-: 5 points

    Hat -C-: 7 points

    Keep the votes coming!
  11. Mega_Jamie - If this reminds you of the game, all the better!

MajorDecoy - Hm, I don't recall Zwillinger ever giving a size. I know someone else commented that Zwillinger has a bigger head than them because he had more hair. My conclusion: Hat size = larger-than-small.

Blue Rabbit - You aren't the only one who is finding it easier to pick which one you don't want over which one you do.

    How about a new twist?

A positive "I vote for Hat ___!" is worth +2 points for that choice. A negative "Not hat ___!" is worth -1 for that choice.
  12. * Thanks, Von Krieger! I could not have gotten most of the screenshots without your Highlights recaps.

  13. Zwillinger promised that he would donate one of his hats (see @ 6:30) worn during a Ustream chat for the Real World Hero Auction if the City Of Heroes community decided which one.

We are holding you to it, Zwillinger!

Only a lucky few attend the FPS. But EVERYONE gets to participate in this voting event! You too, rednames!

    What to do:

    1) Pick which Zwillinger hat listed in this thread you want in the RWH auction: -A-, -B-, or -C-. Limit of one (1) vote per forum handle per day; aka maximum three (3) votes per forum handle.

    2) Declare your choice in a reply to this forum thread or in a PM.

    3) Keep an eye on this thread to see if your choice wins!

Voting is from now until Monday, November 21, 2011 at 8:00 pm Pacific (11:00 pm Eastern).

I will try to talk Zwillinger into wearing the fated hat for the next Ustream Community Chat.

    And the contestants are...

    Let the voting begin!!
  14. Nice kick-off party, Wentworths! It was fun promoting Real World Hero via costume and bio contests, trivia, Q&A, and, of course, a dance.

While I miss the club (and grand piano!) from last year, holding the party at Wentworth's Fine Consignments in Atlas Park was a good choice. It gave a greater chance for more players to drop in. The only down side was how it limited angles for screenshots.

Here are a few of said screenshots from the night.

A good turn out for the costume contest:

Hanging out in the dance corner:

Thank you again for organizing the Real World Hero charity event for the third year, Mr. & Mrs. Wentworth!

I am looking forward to your other RWH events this season, too.
  15. Thank you for the notes, Von Krieger! Good luck with that centipede serum on Saturday.

FYI, here is the picture Zwillinger shared of the scarf:

(No, not me in the picture. I sweetly asked another CoH player to help model. I was behind the camera. )

More pictures and info on the scarf are at http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=277917. I am excited to have finally had a medium to show my fandom for City Of Heroes.

Thank you everyone for being an awesome community - from Samuraiko's videos to your write-ups, Von Krieger, to the Best Costume thread, and more! It's the vast array of talents that convinced me I could give something a try, too.

Also, Freitag has started a thread so art submission can be posted straight to the forums to be featured on the Ustream chats instead of having to dig through Von Krieger's posts for the email address. Thank you, Freitag!
  16. Thank you so much for featuring this project on Ustream today, Zwillinger!
  17. Ooooh, you're going to make me a clanket for Christmas? Ah, too kind, Hyperstrike.
  18. Thank you for sharing all those! The footnotes were especially helpful to draw attention to the details of each picture. It was fun to peruse the beginnings and the might-have-beens.

I rather enjoyed the pictures and insights of your namesake: Noble Savage. Also, the Magisterium was great, as you can't get that much of a birds-eye view in-game even from the highest flying point. And of course it was a treat to see your concept piece that was the first to actually make it into the game.

Now I want to go re-read the original comics then go through the current Praetoria zones and stories again. Thank you for all you have done over the years to shape City Of Heroes!
  19. Thank you everyone who stopped by for taking time to look at my handiwork.

Thank you DreadShinobi, Sapphic_Neko, and Beastyle for filling my pride box with a couple words.

Thank you Fireheart, for taking the time to say in a way that left no room for misinterpretation how my work is to be valued. I did do the best I knew how to do, and so I will be grateful and pleased with the result.

Thank you ChristopherRobin for also showing you read every word of my long-winded post. That is another ego boost.

Thank you Henri for the overboard praise. While a bit more heady than I think deserved, I'm eating it up. And if I knew how to make sweaters I'd do one for you; good luck with your move to the UK.

Thank you Quietus for making me laugh! Mittens and socks, sadly, are out of my limited talent. Hmmm... a hat with the extra yarn might be possible though... Should I dare to try?

Once more, thank you, thank you, thank you everyone. Your willingness to stop by and leave a comment is so validating for all the work that went into this project. It is the mind-boggling amazing creativity of the City Of Heroes community that got me excited to express my fandom, too. Thank you for being my inspiration!
  20. Well, I looked at designing the other factions as you suggested, Necrotech_Master. But the VIP design wouldn't leave enough room in my head for other concepts. So I had to do something for City Of Heroes Freedom first.

Now I'm in post-creation crash. I'm trying to decide if I have enough creative energy to do more CoH themes, or if it is time to take a break for while (say a year or two) to do something else.
  21. Thank you very much for the Mo run! Always a treat to get to team with you.
  22. May I please join if there is room?

    Dynexus (illusion/FF)
  23. Whew! Used up most of my free time and skipped more than a little sleep, but I completed my goal for a project inspired by the current incarnation of my favorite game.

Please allow me a minute to show off a scarf I designed and created. The impetus? City Of Heroes Freedom.

In case it isn't obvious, the bottom of the pattern spells "VIP". The gold "I" is a tie that separates, symbolic of a hero in secret identity mode.

Like last time, the body of the scarf used double columns of alternating honeycomb - two in each white, three in each blue - to add extra interest to the pattern.

The blue and white colors come from the official logo. The alternating blocks from the in-game scarf.

It measure huge at 105" long plus 7" tassels on each end, for a total of 119" long; 8" wide at each end.

Estimated total work time: 60 hours (Though it felt like 200!)

Finished a few hours ago Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11 pm.

I'm pleased with how it turned out, but realize I'm an absolute amateur.

What say you? Good enough to qualify as fan art?

Update 11/24/2011: Now with bonus hat...

Took up the dare to make a matching VIP hat. Sized huge to match the scarf, plus a puff ball on top.
