    They are the same code. The way the devs have explained it, you start the game, pick your server, and then you see a big list of all you characters both heroes and villains. If you pick a hero, you're playing CoH. If you pick a villain, you're playing CoV.

    Some of that QoL (that better be coming to CoH) is newspaper missions. I.e. a never-ending supply of missions for any of your characters. I'd say thats some pretty sweet content.

    Too bad the entire concept of building characters is based on uninformed choices. The manual doesn't list all the effects of every power, it is not updated for every release. There is no place within the game to find out how much benefit you get from power A over power B, you don't tell us how much benefit we get from slotting a power. Uninformed choices seem to be the rule rather than the exception. What is the big deal about not releasing effect numbers? Let us have them.

    Because people get too caught up in the numbers and try to quantify their "fun" using those numbers. "Fun" cannot be boiled down into a math equation. We don't need the numbers. Better, clearer descriptions? Yes, that we DO need. But the numbers themselves are not necessary.

    Because as mentioned before, the post we got was originally intended for City of Villains *only*. CuppaJo cut and pasted that here so we could get a heads up. That does not automatically mean that Positron didn't plan to mention this in his post here if/when he made one.

    As a person who uses a 6 slotted Stamina AND Endurance Reduction enhancements in his powers, I can safely say that ER enhancements will still be usefull, as will Stamina. It just wont be as "essential" as some people feel it is now.

    This is actually equal or slightly less than the lost amount of a 6-slotted Stamina.

    Do you plan to likewise increase all damage, resistance and defense across the board too? To try and keep a bad idea afloat, even though we've got many, many points on why it is bad?

    A "bad idea" that people have yet to have a way to test. I'm skeptical too, but people really need to stop jumping the gun here and assuming its going to be a horrible game destroying nerf based on the numbers alone.

    See this kills me why didnt he put that in his original notes. Not that by any means does this make me less angry at how the devs have handled this whole situation, but it would have soften the blow a tad bit.

    I'd recommend Heresy, then. (Not to be confused with the Horus Heresy, which I gather has something-or-other to do with Warhammer 40K.) I never made sense of the rules, but apparently it wasn't that tricky of a game. The card size apparently made it physically hard to play.

    The artwork though... the artwork was fantastic, with lots of stuff by Brom and Bradstreet, and the card size helped show off the quality of their work.

    On a side note, I picked up the Battle for Prospero Battle Box (Two Warhammer 40k decks, Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines, in decorative plastic card boxes) from the Horus Heresy set a month or two ago. It's got some *good* art.

    There WOULD have to be massive power changes to the sets that are based on typed defense. Thus more free respecs. Oh wait, the code for free respecs is working pretty well... nevermind.

    Let's fix this, devs. FIX it, not patch it. Change the power order to SR to make it more fair in the early levels. Dodge before Agile, Evasion before Lucky.

    Give Ice Tanker dual positional defense AND typed damage resistance. Reduce Invul's dependance on Invincible and buff their dam-res.

    Take another sweep an the blaster secondaries. There's still time to get rid of typed defense in CoV.....

    There's still time to make this right.

    Well, the concept of changing the numbers on powersets effectively IS flipping a couple switches, or at least changing a few numbers in some code. Free respecs, SR, Ice, and Invuln changes are effectively as well.

    It's only fixing blaster secondaries, which would require new animations and new balancing issues, that is anything more than flipping a switch.

    It's not that easy though, as everything would have to be rebalanced to take into account the new changes.

    And yet just because the test enviroment when they did the initial tests was borked, does not mean that when they re-tested with a fixed enviroment Regen still wasn't bad.

    But your assuming that this one change will be the only fix ever done for it. Personally, I'd patch the hose with a band-aid long enough for me to actually get a chance to replace the hose. And while it may not certainly be hard to change, it IS hard to change and do it *RIGHT*.

    Plus, people are already upset because they "had" to make changes for I4 and I5. If the Dev team went and completly reworked defense, do you honestly think people are going to be happy about having to change their characters again?
