I think an overall decrease in Endurance usage for Concealment pool powers as well as removing Stealth's movement penalties would go a long way toward helping that pool out.
-
From what I understand the bonus merits and Notice reward automatically, then you can choose from the reward table (where you'd get the TF's regular incarnate component).

Remember the PBAoE laser attack Iron Man used at the end of Iron Man 2? Yeah I want that for a Pulse Rifle Tier 9 power.
I heard an idea a long time ago for a Pulse Rifle set that sounded really, really cool. Every single target blast is actually an extremely narrow cone, which would simulate the laser going through any foes directly behind the target.
I'd love to see all AR and Pulse Rifles combined and available for all ATs. Yeah yeah, some don't make perfect sense, but neither does a sniper rifle launching grenades and shooting flames. -
Woohoo, the global Vanguard pack is an AMAZING idea!
I would also support Roman and Rularuu packs that work similarly. -
Scorpion looks AMAZING, excellent blend of insect and tech, love the colors.
Libra looks great, love the mod style, very very cool. -
@PowerSteam - Holy CRAP, that's awesome! I love it, exactly the kind of special powers look Frostfire would have, excellent work. I love the Biolum idea, that would be pretty epic.
-
I just did a "low tech" version of Frostfire's costume here.
I like it, but I don't think I like it for his final "heroic" costume. Maybe this could be his vigilante costume? I wish I had photoshop (and the skills to use it), but you'll have to imagine the ice and fire arms / auras going on here

Here's my contribution for Leo.
Arieh by ayres101, on Flickr
Name: Arieh
Broadsword / Regen Scrapper
Backstory:
The Sword of Arieh carries with it great power; it was sent from the star of Leo to Stonehenge as a gift from the cosmos. Whoever holds the Sword of Arieh is gifted with cosmic power and must use it for the greater good of mankind.
The sword grants its owner massive healing powers and can cut through any known object on earth. If its possible to add a rune-like glow to just the sword that'd be great. I decided to go with a silver age look for Arieh, who was a two-bit hero operating out of King's Row in 1984 before he heard the sword's call. He eventually found the sword deep in Orenbega and liberated it from the Circle.
I hope Arieh is of some use to your project, enjoy!

@Henri - Nice work, love the ice and fire arms, excellent idea! Is there any costume the Clockwork chest detail can't work with, definitely one of my favorite costume items yet.
@ChristopherRobin, Agreed, bolded spoiler warning now precedes any spoilering. -
Quote:Apologies, I'd assumed it was kind of common knowledge at this point, my bad. I've added a large, bolded spoiler warning in the OP.Frostfire is, indeed, one of my favorite parts of the game and now you've saved me the trouble of being surprised with the parts of his storyline that I have yet to encounter. While you're at it, is there really a Santa Claus? And what was Rosebud?
Also, no and a sled. -
YAR, HERE THAR BE SPOILERS.
I think Frostfire's tale is one of the coolest in the game. As a lowbie he's one of the first "big baddies" you encounter, then later through your career, in tip missions, you'll watch Frostfire become a Vigilante and then even a hero you team up with in the end.
Throughout the levels and Frostfire's progression to hero, one thing bugs me, he keeps his original outfit the whole time. Now that Frostfire is a hero he needs to ditch the crummy Outcast uniform and get his own super suit!
I'd like us to get a few submissions and ideas for what Frostfire should like as a hero going. Once we have a few great suggestions I'll PM a dev or two about the thread and hopefully we can make something happen.
To kick things off, here is my submission for the Frostfire Super Suit Re-Design.
FrostfireHERO by ayres101, on Flickr
My ideas for some dev customization (ie: things we can't do), possibly an aura of swirling flames (similar to the aura you get when standing around demons) combined with the cryogenic aura. It would also be really cool if one hand had the fiery aura and the other hand had an icy aura. -
Is Leo taken yet? If not I've got a pretty good concept ready to go. Either way I want in on this, sounds really cool.

Quote:Just finished reading this "update" and I wanted to reiterate DB's post because it summed up my feelings pretty well. The devs have gone mostly silent and in return we get a monthly marketing spiel to make up for it?It really bothers me seeing, I feel, the focus of Paragon Studios moving drastically farther and farther away from the community. I don't think I'm the only one that feels that Paragon Studios has little to no interest in a community that has existed since before the game even launched.
I am guardedly and cautiously optimistic about new communication and new red names, even though it seems to boil down to (thus far) a new advertising press release to read once a month.
Please prove me wrong.
I'm sorry, but...no thanks.
P.S. - Thanks for all the posts David, if it weren't for you the connection between the players and devs would be non-existant. -
I'm wondering the same for my Mind/Psi, I'm leaning towards Mace Mastery for now. Scorpion Shield would be a huge step towards soft-capping S/L defense.
-
While the damage is trivial in most cases, I have often wished they would disable falling damage while Super Jump is active.

Just in time for Christmas, City of Heroes TOYS!
2010-12-19_15-32-36_616 by ayres101, on Flickr
Lets put aside all the vitriol for the Marketing Department and celebrate their latest accomplishment, the City of Heroes Action Figures!
This pack celebrates City of Heroes' ability to mimic trademark characters such as, but not entirely for copyright reasons, Power Rangers, Spiderman, Batman and more!
((I was recently and completely against my will in a seedy flea market in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and stumbled upon this. Of all the logos for petty unlicensed toy manufacturers to use they found OUR'S, really?! Too funny not to share, Merry Christmas!))

So my Cold/Sonic Gamebreak is now level 50 and I'm ready to start the long process of gearing him up for some AV soloing.
Below is a proto-build I've put together. I'm pretty terrible at Mids and building in general, so any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Quote:This is all I'm hoping for, but I got the fire hose turned on me for saying it.Who says that it will be with I20?
From what War Witch said, it seemed they were hoping to dole out the Incarnate stuff from now onward at regualr intervals, to stop the 'Content dump - Huge gap' syndrome of the past.
Which would be ideal, I have to say, and much more advisable. -
Quote:From what Noble Savage has told us, they are working on making some NPC pieces available to us through new costume items, but that is much, much more complicated than giving us the codes.Would rather see them spend time making a issue composed of nothing but costume pieces and conversions to animations and stuff that would one day allow us to have player versions of these shiny costume pieces to mix and match with our existing characters. I wanted that carnie sash skirt yesterday.
OR
Making premium costume boosters for the PIECES of rather than the whole suit in a toggle so again we can mix and match them on our characters.
Before anyone says anything, I know it will never happen. As stated by our own noble savage they aren't committed to making such a leap of a change even though its been requested for as long as I can remember. You can't blaim me for asking yet again.
Some codes, the PPD Hardsuit in particular, would be nigh impossible to make individual costume pieces out of. Selling the costume codes at the store is the quick and easy way to get us that costume, I'm in no way advocating they stop making new costume pieces because of that.
Also, I hope everyone knows not to expect any results at all from all the negative feedback in this thread. Ocho has shown before he has 45% Defense to Negativity. -
I'm fine with doing these contests, for those lucky enough to win them, good for them.
Can you at least offer a "lottery" type contest for the rest of us? A festivus for the rest of us, if you will.
Also, PUT SOME COSTUME CODES IN THE STORE. -
Quote:The only people that know for sure can't say, but I sincerely hope the devs don't piecemeal out 1/20th of the Incarnate system each issue. So from what I hear, we are getting the 3rd and 4th teir alpha slots in issue 20. Has anyone heard if we are getting another piece of the incarnate system(Omega, Destiny, Lore, Hybrid, etc) in i20, or is it just the full alpha slot ability? And if we aren't getting another part in i20, does anyone know when we will?
-
This is completely unfair to people who cannot spend all day refreshing twitter, facebook and the forums. The NA codes are usually sniped in a matter of SECONDS, this contest is hardly open to "anyone" who plays a game, just an elite/lucky few that can type very fast.
I still can't understand why marketing keeps pushing Boosters that no one asked for while people are begging to buy costume codes...yeeesh.
Sorry for the negativity, spent a week trying to earn a PPD code from one of these "contests" and the frustration was INSANE. -
Thanks for the help everybody, taking all this into account as I start work on designing my prototype build for Gamebreak, I'll update this as I get something going.
-
I am now the saddest panda of all the sad pandas. Was really hoping to pick up the Ninja pack with the discount.
CURSE YOU, UNIVERSE!
