Quote:You leave your facts and logic out of this! The "ring floating behind the back" thing is sometimes used as an Eastern version of a halo. Several deities are occasionally portrayed this way, such as Benzaiten (Japan) and Kali (India), though carvings of them naturally show them attached, since the sculptors didn't have anti-gravity. Other artwork typically shows them detached, floating behind the shoulders. Depends a lot on the individual interpretation.
Seriously though, just google image search pretty much any costume set in the game you have a question about, Paragon Wiki has pretty much everything covered nicely too. -
That'd be awesome Snow Globe, let me know if you find something and we could try to work something out. I'm sure there are others that would like a shot at this too.

Really thought I could make myself love a Tank and for 26 levels I stuck with it, Aristos Shield/MA Tanker.
But whenever a Brute was on the team I felt useless. Brutes were jumping in, taunting, often taking aggro from me (I was also taunting) AND doing great damage. These weren't super maxed out FotM Brutes either, I'm talking mid 30s Claws/Inv Brutes were showing me up in almost every way.
Sure, as a Tanker I was tough enough to withstand almost anything, but considering Brutes were holding aggro AND doing great damage I started feeling pretty useless. So, I called it quits on leveling any more Tanks until something is changed with them and I'm back to my original intention, Aristos is a SJ/SD Brute and even at 12 he is amazing, Sweeping Cross hits HARD and I'm already tough enough to handle jumping into most spawns. I know Shield would be more damage on a Scrapper, but the inherent toughness of the Brute sold me.
Thanks for the advice everyone. -

As I understand the Victory Laurel is an option on the reward table for completing one of DJ Zero's Valentine's missions. Is it possible someone may still have him available as a contact, meaning we could run that mission and I could get this costume piece?
I've got a character I'd love to have this on if at all possible, and waiting until next February is a long time off. If anyone has more info on this or would be willing to help it would be much appreciated.
I'm on Virtue server, available most evenings after 8:00p central. I'll be on most of today (Sunday, May 27).
Edit - D'oh! Appropriate Info would help, huh? -
I'd actually thought about SS/SD for that very reason, but I really don't want to roll another SS character, that would be my 4th.
So I guess you're saying the difference in "toughness" of the Brute wouldn't make up for what I'd lose by not going Scrapper? -
I need some advice on a character I'm working on right now, a level 8 Shield/MA Tank. I want a Shield Defense character and I want to build for some awesome levels of toughness. Tanker damage is just something I can't get past, sure a Tank would be the toughest a Shield character can be but the damage is beyond anemic.
Despite the fact damage would be much better on a Shield Scrapper, I think wanting to build for toughness would lean towards Brutes. With a Brute I could still be tough enough for 95% of the game (maybe better than that!), AND have great damage.
I'm thinking Street Justice/Shield, any advice or builds on how to make a very tough Brute for this build?
Edit: If anyone has a SJ or MA/Shield Scrapper build they wanted to show off I will still consider that, Shield has a good taunt aura so I'd be open to a Scrapper if it can be tough enough. -
Quote:Awesome, this is good info to have for my melee altitis.Shield, Invulnerability, Willpower and Energy Aura all have taunt auras on scrappers. Shield and invuln have ones that are just as strong as most brute/tank taunt auras (13.5s mag 3 taunt), WP has the same, fairly weak taunt aura on all AT's (1.25s mag 3 on a 1s tick) and EA has a weak taunt aura on a scrapper (2.25s mag 3 taunt on a 2s tick) and a normal strength one on brutes (13.5s mag 3)
With the higher scrapper base damage mod and the higher boost they get from AAO I find that a shield scrapper can pull aggro from brutes easily on multiple targets and even pull it from a tank on a single target unless the tank is actually using thier taunt power. -
Does Shield have a taunt aura? Because whether or not AAO works well on Brutes, if it doesn't have a taunt aura, you'll be dealing with runners on a Scrapper. I'd much rather lose a bit of effectiveness with AAO and go Brute if that's the case.

Can't wait for this, my main since I started playing in Issue 7 is Lightslinger, an Energy/Energy Blaster and while I appreciate the KB when solo, I hate it when I'm teaming. Can we slot more than one of these procs or is it unique? If I can it will be going in Torrent and Explosive Blast post haste.
Edit-Just read up and saw that it's unique, now to decide what power to put it in, probably explosive blast. -
Young Justice impresses me more and more every week. This whole Invasion arc has been really well done, what impresses me most is character design. I've loved every single character they've done so far, from the Justice League to Young Justice, all the costume/character design is amazing. The YJ Nightwing is easily my favorite costume of his yet.
Also, Tim Drake Robin in the new timeline makes me want to play my Staff Melee characters more. -
The biggest Going Rogue disappointment is that now those beautiful zones and amazing storylines in Praetoria have been almost completely abandoned. Would love for the devs to find a way to open those zones up to more people.

This thread got me to go check out Laura's arc, running it now. The mission that awards Steel Savior is awesome, glad I found out about this.
I don't want to advocate more annoying "So and so wants to talk to you.." contact pop ups, but the devs should really get a way to advertise great new content like this. -
At least work in a mole machine somewhere here, and some of the brass ponies too!
-
The most important question of all regarding today's vehicular team teleport: is it a dog? Surely there's a 4 leg rig used here somehow.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a dev say that Kinetic Melee came from an attempt to revamp Energy Melee? They basically decided they were changing so much they just made it a new powerset instead.
Not trying to derail the discussion or disagree, Energy absolutely needs help. I just think its an interesting footnote in Energy Melee's history. -
I did miss out on this because I wasn't able to play enough in January and February to justify VIP, but I would definitely buy that aura the second it hit the market if ever. The Vanguard Pack set the precendent of being a loyalty perk later released on the market, I'm hoping this will be the case here too.

Rolled a Staff/Dark, I'm definitely still going to try /Regen, but I will probably wait and pair it with a future set.
My Staff/Dark (Sandslinger, all the dark powers colored to sand, very original and totally not done before) has been incredibly fun so far. He's at level 15 and right now the ST is good and the AoE is awesome for a lowbie. -
For those not wanting in on all the Staff on Staff craziness, roll a new support character and be a God on all the DPS only teams running.
-
If they didn't find a way to use the 4 leg rig with Staff Fighting I'm out of here, that's ridiculous.
-
I've at least narrowed it down to definitely Brute, still don't know if I'm going /Dark or /Regen. I know Regen is nowhere near as OP as Dark, just something about it sounds different enough to be new and fun.
However...redraw, bah. /Regen would probably be better paired with the upcoming Psionic Melee anyhow. -
Quote:This inspired me, what if Tanks were given a solo damage buff like Defenders, then as they team the damage buff is replaced by a Leadership-esque team buff?[snip]
Furthermore, if you really want the Tanker to be the "Leader AT", then that's even more justification for their damage to not be crap. Superman, Optimus Prime, Cyclops, they're more powerful than their subordinates. They have the devastating power and it comes with the burden to use it wisely that teaches them responsibility, thus the mantle of leadership falls to them.
Call it Mantle of Leadership like you said. The buff could be a combined Assault-Tactics that extended to the whole team/league and stacked as other Tankers are added.
Even better, what if the buff adjusted based on the team makeup like Kheldian's cosmic balance works? On a high DPS team Mantle of Leadership swaps to +Def/+Res & Tactics, on a low DPS team, Mantle of Leadership swaps to +Dam & Tactics. It could even extend a tiny bit of mez protection for the squishies.
I'm not sure if that's possible, but that would definitely make teams appreciate the Tank (and especially multiple tanks) more and when solo would give the Tank a bit more damage. -
Quote:Don't underestimate my ego and self importance, it's a key part of being a superhero, and in real life I'm kind of a big dealWell, I think a lot of your posts trump his in self-importance, to be fair.
But anyway, let's move on to something even more important, ME!!!
I am going to roll either a Staff/EA Scrapper or Staff/Electric Brute. I am leaning towards the Brute, but what are your thoughts, fellow Scrapper enthusiasts?
I'm with you on going Brute for Staff, I'm personally thinking Staff/Dark or /Regen. I really want another Scrapper but I keep running into a recurring problem; some sets are just better on Brutes and I cant stand runners, so my secondary has to have a taunt.
