The Cyborg pack description says it has a "Self-Destruct Temporary Power". What does Temporary mean here? Does it go away after you use it once? Does it only last 30 days?
[/ QUOTE ]
The description is wrong. It's an inherent power, not a temporary one. It lasts forever.
[/ QUOTE ]
The description should be fixed in an update to the PlayNC store tomorrow. -

Is anyone else having trouble buying this thing? Me and my roommate use the same card and he bought his with no problem. There is more than enough money left and it keeps declining me, what gives?
[/ QUOTE ]
One use per day, per card. You have to use a different card to make another purchase. Ran into this problem a long time ago myself when I was running multiple accounts.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are all sorts of fraud prevention measures with credit cards in place on the Store. If you feel your transaction isn't going through when you think it should, our billing team should be able to assist you:

I know we're in the process of some changes for South America distribution. I do hope to have some additional input on that subject from our sales team soon.

The Super Booster I - Cyborg pack costs $9.99 and is available for purchase on the PlayNC store in the City of Heroes / City of Villains section. This 'guide' will give details information about all the parts of the Super Booster I - Cyborg pack (from now on referred to as 'Cyborg pack' for brevity).
By purchasing the Cyborg pack and adding it to one of your accounts, all characters on that account will have access to: an 'extensive' costume set, 3 character emotes, 4 "combat" Auras, and a unique power.
Emotes
There are 3 emotes included with the Cyborg pack, one of which is a dance, and the other two show your character turning on and off. <ul type="square">[*]Robot Dance - /emote robotdance (View Video, View Video of MM+Henchmen)[*]Power Up - /emote powerup (View Video) Note: The Power Up emote only works after using Power Down[*]Power Down - /emote powerdown (View Video, View Ending Pose)
Auras
The 4 auras available through the Cyborg pack are activated only when your character is in a 'combat' stance. You're in this stace whenever you're attempting to use attacks and powers along those lines.<ul type="square">[*]Left Eye Laser (color tintable) (View)[*]Right Eye Laser (color tintable) (Same as Left)[*]Both Eyes Laser (color tintable) (View)[*]Holographic HUD (Heads up Display) (Front View, Side View)
There is also a video showing all the auras (though there are some jittering, it's far smoother in reality)
Power
The power included with the Cyborg Pack is called 'Self Destruction'. The power has a 1 hour recharge, 10 second activation time, 40 foot radius, 16 target cap, deals 535.44 damage at level 50, 50 damage at level 1, will not give you any debt, and inspirations/self rez powers will still work (not sure about other players using ally rez abilities)
Self Destruction from a distance
Higher quality, close up Self Destruction
Self Destruction failing to kill a player, but removes the body
Self Destructing Bane Spider, demonstrates rezzing after as well as the knockback
Self Destruction - Rise of the Phoenix, can you say oh so thematically appropriate?
Costume
The Cyborg Pack includes 14 peices, four shoulder pads, two chest details, belt, robotic arm, glove, legs/pants, boots, hat, and two head details. The normal pictures are primary color red, secondary white with all settings at the highest.

Edit: Changed costume pictures to be not so horrifyingly bad. Also want to say thanks to JLove, BaB, Castle and the other devs that made this awesome set!

Great work! -

I really don't think the games management thinks these things will be a big seller. It seems more like tossing a bone out to those who felt slighted because they couldn't have the 30-day pack unless they bought a time-card they couldn't use.
[/ QUOTE ]
For anyone who may be thinking that the team is hoping that we will obtain significant revenue from the Jetpack; we aren't. The above hypothesis is correct. The Jetpack was offered because it was already available via the Game Cards that include this 30 day temporary jet pack. All we did was hook up the existing Jetpack for the difference in price and make it available to existing customers this way so you don't have to go out and hunt down a game card if you want it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Can you purchase the jet pack again once your 30 days runs out? Just wondering, I wont buy it(looks like fun but its to easy to get them in bank mishs and getting to lvl 14 is also easy). I did buy the cyborg pack OMG BLOW MYSELF UP to much fun. I will prob do this for the 1st hour I get to play when I get home!!! Thanks Devs great job, cant wait to see all the secrets your keeping about I13 to come out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, you could keep re-buying the jet pack every 30 days if you choose to. It's the same if you bought the Game Card that comes with the 30 day temp jetpack. -
Why are they called "Boosters"?
The "Booster" name is what we are referring to all the optional addons for the game going forward. -

Just to answer a few immediate questions:
Bruce's red name: Bruce won't be posting directly on the forums.
How long can questions be asked? Questions will be collected on Monday, September 22nd from both the North American and European forums.
When will the questions be answered? Shortly after they are collected we'll post up Bruce's replies.
Not long after that, we'll introduce our next dev and ask for your questions for them. -
With the significant expansion of the NCsoft NorCal team that supports and develops City of Heroes, we felt it was important for the fans to get to know some of the new personalities on the team. To that end, we are reviving the "Ask a Dev" feature. Here's how it works.
Ask a Dev
Periodically, we'll introduce a member of the City of Heroes Development Team and open a reply forum thread where fans can pose their questions for that developer. Then a few weeks later we'll close the question thread and go through and pick out the best and most appropriate questions and the developer will provide the answers!
So, without further ado, we want to introduce to you one of the latest additions to the City of Heroes Development Team, Senior Designer Bruce Harlick!
City of Heroes "Ask a Dev" with Senior Designer Bruce Harlick
Biography
Bruce Harlick got his start in the gaming industry way back in 1981 as Hero Games' first employee. Starting as an editor, Bruce enjoyed a 20-year relationship with the Hero Games, culminating with the job of company president. Bruce was responsible for the creation of some of Hero Games most memorable characters, including the ever-popular Foxbat.
After Hero Games and some time spent as a technical writer and editor outside of the gaming industry, Bruce took at job with Monolith Productions in 2003, working on The Matrix Online and the DC Universe Online game. After Monolith sold MxO and the rights to DC Online to Sony in 2005, Bruce moved down to Sigil to work on their Marvel Comics MMO. When, alas, Bruces plan to work on a superhero MMO was foiled once again, he moved back to his hometown of San Francisco in 2006 to work on an Indiana Jones game.
Bruce jumped at the chance to join his old friend Positron and the rest of the dev team working on City of Heroes and City of Villains. His long background in superhero roleplaying games made him a natural fit for this project.
An Introduction from Bruce
Ive been playing superhero roleplaying games since I was in High School (which was a long time ago now) and Ive wanted to make a superhero-based MMO for ages. Im really happy to be here on this game and Im looking forward to making a mark on it.
MMOs are great fun; I've been playing them hardcore ever since EverQuest was in beta (and before then, back when they were all text-based) and havent stopped since. Ive played or beta-tested just about every major MMO to come along and was an early tester and player of City of Heroes.
In my spare time, I like to take photographs, read, cook, dine at fine restaurants, and roast coffee. I like to play roleplaying games and am involved in several active campaigns. Im planning on running some 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons for my fellow content designers here.
What does Bruce do on the City of Heroes Team?
Im primarily responsible for making cool stories and missions, and designing systems to help support missions. So Im here at work all day, thinking of cool stuff and then putting it into the game. It's a dream job.
