Valentines Day, 2008 was certainly a day to remember. The whos who of Paragon City turned out for the wedding between two of the citys luminary Heroes: Manticore and Sister Psyche. Despite the best planning for security, Lord Recluse was still able to infiltrate the nuptials and crash the party!
Now, you can relive every moment of this very special event. The City of Heroes team worked with one of the games biggest fan comic book creators, ChaseArcanum, to create an exclusive Comic Book regaling all the details.

Additionally, we have a transcript of the wedding ceremony, including the vows.
We hope everyone had a great 2008 Valentines Day!

The entire Development Team and especially Sean and Jen Dornan-Fish (who were playing Manticore and Sister Psyche) want to thank everyone who came out to the Training Room for the Wedding Event!
We're looking forward to sharing the event on the European Training Room tomorrow morning. Following that we will be making an exclusive Comic Book of the event available for everyone to relive the fun! -

2. Reduce the minimum number of players required for a TF or SF to a maximum of six. Only exception: STF and LRSF, since they are meant to be endgame challenges and "hardcore".
[/ QUOTE ]
Just to quickly touch on this (since I'm on the Training Room with the Wedding Event, but reading here too) - most Task Forces and Strike Forces have a requirement of 4. I was looking over documentation on the list of SF/TF. -

Hi everyone,
We wanted to make you aware of an additional change that made it into the game update that went live on February 12th. Heres the Patch Note for the change:
[ QUOTE ]
Tasks
Spawns in Task Forces, Strike Forces and Trials will now spawn enemies for at least the minimum size required to start the Task Force, Strike Force or Trial.
For example, if a Task Force requires 4 players to start and a team of 8 start the Taskforce, the spawns will spawn for a team size of 8. If 4 players drop out of this Task Force leaving only 4 players left in the team, the spawns will adjust to a team size of 4. If 2 more players leave the Task Force leaving only 2 players, the spawns will remain at a team size of 4, since that is the minimum size required to start the Task Force.
[/ QUOTE ]
Such missions have always been intended to be group activities, hence the reason for the minimum group size requirement to start them. We feel that the group size requirements are certainly not onerous and that the need for grouping is a good dynamic in a social environment like City of Heroes. We want to continue to offer good rewards based on a group accomplishment through such missions and maintaining that requirement is the reason for this change.
We know that finding out about this change after the patch is already live is not the ideal way to go about it. It was never our intent to hide or stealth this change out, it was simply lost in the volume of other changes spanning many months.
One of the many aims of this most recent update was to address exploitive behavior that could be used for influence/infamy farming. This is especially relevant when considering recent problems with unwanted real money trade (RMT) solicitations in game. Also included in the most recent update is the change to make it harder for RMT spammers to use the in game mail system for such advertisements. We will continue to make other changes as necessary to address the issue.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and for your continued support. -

I think you need to look into your emailers. I haven't changed email addresses since starting CoH nearly 45 months ago, and I didn't get a double xp mailer or wedding package/Valentines day mailer, either. I am not alone on this. Surprisingly, I did buy 1 Wedding package and got 2 emails, 1 verify the purchase and 1 saying my account was upgraded. Oh and if I thought it was really worth buying, I would have bought 2 one for my second account that's nearly 36 months old.

Please keep in mind that our e-mails come from a bulk mailing source and depending on your spam filtering settings you may or may not see the e-mail. I personally have had our e-mails come through fine on one of my web based e-mail accounts but another one that I have tied to a different account always gets nuked.
So, be sure to double check your junk mail box. -

How about someone recording this and then posting up in the news section for all to enjoy?

We will have media available of the special live wedding event between Manticore and Sister Psyche (as run by Sean and Jen Dornan-Fish the real life couple behind the pair) so that everyone can relive what is sure to be a magical moment in City of Heroes / Villains lore. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hate to say it, but I'm somewhat unimpressed.
A "special event" in which only 300 out of the 25,000 plus CoH subscribers will be able to participate? Up to this point, CoH's special events have been somewhat egalitarian, with effort made to be as inclusive as possible. For instance, the CuppaJo farewell party, where a dozen different Pocket Ds were instanced and the devs were present in all of them. This kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
[/ QUOTE ]
We really wish we could accommodate more. However, please keep in mind that Sean Fish and his wife Jen will actually be at the keyboards running Manticore and Sister Psyche respectively. Matt "Positron" Miller will actually be playing Positron in the event, as will all the rest of the dev team. As much as we'd like to keep them at their keyboards all weekend long - or hire stand ins to play them, we aren't. This is a special event and a testament to the involved members of the Dev. Team, the friendships on the team and love story between two of them.
We have made some special arrangements to have media available so everyone can relive this very special wedding. More details will follow. Thanks in advance for your understanding. -

Question: Will this pack be *continually* available, or only for a short time?
I have 4 accounts, I don't know whether I want to put 40 bucks out all at once, considering I'm only working on one toon from one account at this moment.
And to the nay-sayers - we ASK them "if you put stuff that's special out, we'll buy it!" and they DO so, and now you lot decide noooooo! don't make me paaaaay for something that the guys work hard 60-80 hours a week on! Nooooo!
[/ QUOTE ]
To be clear, the Wedding Pack is not time limited. -
And here I was going to lock the thread and send LiquidX a stern warning!

Btw, the veil seems to be having the same problem that trench coats had when they were first introduced: you can't change the inside color!
Haven't found a workaround like the trechcoats had, however...
[/ QUOTE ]
Not only can you not change the inside color, the primary color is changing both the hair color and the color of the hair itself.
[/ QUOTE ]
We have a correction to the Wedding Veil that should be coming to the Training Room soon. Take a look at that version and let us know. -

No veil?

There is a veil, but as it is bugged atm and shows up as nothing more then a black blanket tied to my character's head, I didn't include it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bugged, but the color on the outside of the veil is tied to the hair color.... as seen here.
I posted it in the Costume Bug thread.
[/ QUOTE ]
We have a new version of the game with a correction to the veil going to the Training Room in the near future. Try out the veil on that new version and let us know how it goes. Thanks! -

Please keep in mind that the veil on live is currently not displaying alpha properly as most of the lace should be see through, like what Sister Psyche is wearing in the main Valentine's Day Announcement. -

Well, since I did this with my Exteel purchases, I figured I'd post my experience buying this stuff too.
Clicked on the link provided by the email newsletter, which brought me to the NCSoft store. Clicked "buy now," was taken to my account management for login. Payment was quick and easy, the security bits made me happy and rather comfortable making the purchase (very important). Very quick, very easy. Headed into the game, into Icon, and there they were. My only complain is I wasn't (and am still not) sure exactly where everything is, so maybe in the receipt listing include where the various parts are? Sorry - not much for hunting. That aside I'm very pleased.
By the way, I do hope in i12 there will be at least one or three public wedding chapels. Maybe make an instanced one available for rent (influence, not real money) or as a "reward" for some cute little set of missions.

Hi Psyte,
Thanks for purchasing the Wedding Pack and for your Feedback!

2 Sleeve options for the tuxedo jacket.

so we have to pay extra for costume/emotes now?
.......
[/ QUOTE ]
There is still a full complement of free Issues and content scheduled for this year and beyond for City of Heroes and City of Villains.
This pack is something that we were able to make available outside of our regular release schedule. So, no, you won't have to pay for other new costumes and emotes. We realize that the Wedding Pack won't be for everyone, but hopefully those who are interested in it will find that they like having the option to obtain it.
[/ QUOTE ]
So can we expect to have to pay for any new holiday emotes/costumes that come down the pike? This summer, will I have to shell out an additional $9.99 for a new "sparklers" emote, along with some appropriately patriotic couture? When Halloween comes along, will the special "pumpkin head" full helm only be available to those willing to plonk down some extra cash?
I'm not saying that there's no chance I'll buy it, and I apologize if the tone of these questions sounds hostile, but if this is likely to become a regular trend with special events, to charge fees above and beyond the usual monthly one for extra (arguably minor) perks, I'd like to know in advance.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know that any other new for pay packs will be tied to holidays. This one just worked out that way. To be clear, it's likely that we wouldn't have done this extra event and the corresponding Wedding Pack if we didn't charge for the pack.
Unfortunately, I'm not armed with more details on what we will offering in the future other than the fact that we intend to do more. We appreciate your feedback! -
[ QUOTE ]
This is my post from another thread:
Feedback:
I can't find a way to change the interior colour of the bridal veil (hair). It doesn't seem to inherit from cape/trenchcoat interior colour, so I can't even seem to change it that way.
Also, the veil colour should not be linked to the hair colour. and really, it should allow at least some choice of hairstyle, not forcing you to use just the one.
A proper list of the pieces, including what costume options the occupy would be very useful, I have yet to find some of them.
Also, given this is a paid for pack and thus I can be a bit more demanding:
The Tux choices would be much better if they were available with or without the internal waistcoat and if you could change the waistcoat colour seperate from the lapels.
The price does seem a little steep for what you get. I was happy to buy it to support all the hardwork you guys and girls have put in, and to help fund further development. However, adding a little to the pack might help sweeten the deal for people. Maybe throw in some of the other pieces you have lying around from the pre-order/special editions?
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the Feedback Darkspeed. One item to note, the wedding veil on the current live version 16.200801222.5T2 is not displaying correctly. It should appear as mostly see through, like real lace. The current version is mostly filled in. This will be corrected in a coming update. -

Those are a little out of date with what you actually get under the live build for your $9.99. I have a request in to get some additional screen shots of the items available. -
[ QUOTE ]
you're kidding me.. pay for the emotes? wow.
[/ QUOTE ]
The details of the Wedding Pack can be found here.
The pack includes:
The wedding dress costume:
A long lace veil, short stockings, and lace dress and bodice.
Special "Excess Plus," "Hearts Plus," and "Angelic Plus" costume pieces for chest and hips (all available to female characters).
Tuxedo costume
An elegant formal tuxedo jacket with tails (available to all characters).
The Propose emote lets players get on one knee to pop the big question with the proper amount of formality (or just speak in a particularly romantic fashion).
Three celebratory emotes allow players to toss heart and diamond shaped Confetti, Rose Petals, and of course, Rice.
While we understand that this offering may not be for everyone. However, we do want to make more available for the game and by charging for such items we can deliver them in a more timely and broad fashion. While I don't have specifics on other future for pay offerings, there is the intention to make more available. -

We wanted to point out two items that did not make it out in the initial release of the Patch Notes, but will be added shortly:
- [*] Experience rewards were removed from Rikti Portals. To compensate for this change, the Rikti Communications Officers who summon them now give greater experience when defeated.
[*] Experience and Influence rewards were removed from the Ouroboros Flashback mission Welcome to Vanguard
The reason these items were not included in the Training Room testing notes, is that try not to call attention to exploits. Our apologies for not including them in today's original release notes now that they are corrected.
We are also updating the Known Issues list to include:
- [*] Monitoring a pets Combat Attributes prevents the owner from monitoring their own Combat Attributes until that pet dies or is dismissed.
[*] There are some display issues with buff stacking on players and pets.
We want you to be aware that these issues are known and also so you can work around them as necessary. Our apologies for any inconvenience or impact to your gameplay as a result of them. -
Currently, you would have to slot the power and then see the effect it has on your statistics. The desire for power information is something we are aware of for possible future inclusion.
