Fire/Ice tanker rolls eyes at powerlevelling. ROFLMAO.
I also have a fire/ice. Those things practically powerlevelled themselves. -
I teamed with an earth/kin a long time ago ... great control but lousy for PvP (f that's your thing) because of something that may or may not be a bug.
Fire/Kin is insanely great, as is Fre/Rad (but a no go)... I think Fire/Storm would be good too, but probably very heavy on the end. I started one but then realised 3 fire controllers on one server was probably overkill -

which bit of "exploit" are you having difficulty understanding?

the part where I've gotten the 50 million badge and you cant get empath in two weeks lol
EDIT: unless you have 20 accounts

Well, I would post you to the link on the US boards where they explained how to do it (it was there yesterday) ... but it gets taken down very quickly for some reason -

to earn the last healing badge i would need to do 11,000 hours of hard work. do the maths.

or you could just do the arena healing exploit and get it in a couple of weeks?

well, Choking Cloud would defenitely fall under the "too much lag" problem now, wouldn't it?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it wouldn't - at least not server lag. If it is causing graphical lag, then you need to ratchet your settings down.
To paraphrase something I heard in a bar once.
"A hold's a hold" -
yep - I had it six slotted with holds on the only successful raid I've ever taken place in on Union (the public ones anyway).

The only thing that genuinely annoys me with my rad is if someone with knockback appears to be seeing how far they can bounce one accross a busy room.
[/ QUOTE ]
As an Ill/Rad controller, the *very* first time I summoned my phantasm, only to have him hit the anchor with a knockback power scattering the mobs around him and killing him was *very* special to me. -
remember, anyone that rushes forward to kill your anchor has to press the 'W' key.
'W' > Anchor
just keep that in mind -

Accuracy debuff would be good but prolly wouldnt be added to current sets.

I know... the sad thing is, it would make doms useful on the RSF, help out in PvP an dprobably wouldn't be overpowered. -
Try not to team with idiots (difficult at time I know).
Either LTs at the back or if a boss will take a while, then the boss.
Onve everybody gets SOd up, then by and large debuffs aren't needed - they speed things up dramatically but they aren't vital.
Until you hit an AV every other mission, then they get to be mega-vital again - but at least there's no argument about what gets to be the anchor.
The only other thing you can do is team with a kheldian and always slap the debuffs on the quantums .... they always complain people leave them till last, might as well make it work for you. -
in this post.
Now I assume we have to try the 'fix' the devs have released, however this does seem to address two of the more common complaints that doms have.
I'm assuming the debuff number would have to be tweaked. This would solve the PTOD problem and make doms more attractive in PvP without being totally overpowered? -

ooh, only bad illusion controllers don't know how to manage knockback.
[/ QUOTE ]
So how'd you keep your mobs from being knocked back by your Phants Energy Torrent? :\
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes...please enlighten us oh great one.

Well, since you asked in the correct form, it would be rude not to. Looking at my post I notice I left a smiley off. never mind eh.
You know what? I wrote a whole guide about just that way back when. I didn't bother updating it once lvl 32 pets became a one at a time deal. If I can find a use for CC outside of hami raids with 3-4 phants going (god I miss those days) I'm sure you'll be able to do it with just the one. Note I've said all the way along this thread that CC is only my first (9th?) pick since the great control nerf, other than that it was a hami-raid specific power.
You could team with somebody with an immob power, you could angle your approach so that the momentum applied throws everything into a corner, you could hover from above convertng it into knockdown and then drop into the mob with CC going ... giving your phant and PA chance to smack things down... you could rely on your superior speed to get you in first and rely on them to deal with things before the hold wears off... you could take recall friend and use it for positioning purposes....
Note there will still be situations where you can't use it - but arguably, knockback affects all of your powers to some extent, including the one I'm suggesting replacing with CC, especially given the god awful activation time it has (or had, last time I had it). But given the awful recharge on flash and the fact EMP is much better,
I find a mix of a hold aura and 1 x AoE hold > 2 x AoE hold.
But as I've also said, there's lots of ways to build ill/rad and given certain powers and non-dorkage slotting, you can't really go too far wrong. -
ooh, only bad illusion controllers don't know how to manage knockback.
-
which is probably why I picked leadership up in the first place
CC is great crowd control compared to flash with leadership though...
-
I'm not a fan of choking cloud either, but since the control nerf waaay back to flash and emp, it is the only AoE hard control you have that can be available on a regular basis. To be effective you do need to either have lots of acc slotted (sacrificing duration or endurance) or have RI and leadership running. I have it slotted for hami raids right now, which is 3 end reduc, 3 hold + toggles running. In regular play I'd maybe swap some end for acc and not run it all that often.
lll/Rad is one of those builds that cries out for build slots (like costume slots) where you get to pick power selections and slotting for the next week. Maybe when infinite respecs for 50s come in...
-
The great thing about ill/rad is that there are a lot of ways to build it ... the bad thing about ill/rad, is there are more ways to build.
I'd take the recharge out of radiant aura - you shouldn't be getting too much attenton apart from AoE or PvP .... either of which will either kill you very quickly or not at all. I'd be really tempted to try and squeeze in the leadership pool, given the ridiculous number of pes you can have out. I'd be really tempted to take hover and three slot (plus swift), relying on SS for actual travel speed. Of course, that's as a 50...
In the same way, I find EMP preferable to Flash (longer duration, bigger radius, shorter activation) with *gasp* chokng cloud being an alternative that is available more often as a panic button (but it requires your RI and leadership to be really effective).
looks good and so long as you have the main powers (pets, blind, spectral wounds, + the debuffs +fitness) you can't really go far wrong. Have fun. -
It (power boost) boosts all secondary effects (yeah hold is a secondary effect of a hold by that logic). I'm one level away from verifying it myself, but that includes heal numbers in (for example) aid self, allegedly.
Not sure if it boosts flight speed like the controller epic.
It is an awesome power though ... that and domination together is evil -
1. I'd suggest you learn then - Ice/Kin is pretty intensive. Even if it is just select team mate/sb/id, it will save you tons of time. I'll have a look for mine when I get home, although that isn't for 2 days. Somebody else might chirp in with them.
2. I never have, although I solo a lot. When I have teamed, I do so much damage just with Blizzard every 4th or 5th mob, nobody notices. I'd be surprised if you can fit it into a build tbh.
3. (or 2b) I have 2 acc, 1 rech in siphon power. Really helps in PvP, not so much of an issue once you have fulcrum shift. As a /kin, you will seem to miss a lot later on, but that's just the 5% chance hitting you (did I mention it was pretty hectiic?). -
good luck in WoW.... say hi to everyone else
have to say, given everything you've done in game, I'd love to know who is being elitist to you ....
although if the PvPers (& others) go to the Americans and more go to wow, it is hard to see who is going to remain to be elitist to.... -
/Dev was overpowered back in Issue 1 .... somebody gave smoke grenade a 100% debuff instead of a 10%.
*sniff*
good times. -
I have to say I'm a little disappointed. This buff was sold to us (by Posi, if memory serves) as "will help for the RSF and for other situations". While any sort of buff is always welcome, I don't see this helping the average dominator to find teams - they'll want to team more but then that has never been the problematic side of the equation.
Having said that, 6xDom, 2x /Kin corruptor and RSF farming we go... ok, maybe one taunting brute as well.
excellent post be lecxe over in the us describing how to do this btw. -
Too bad I'm not playing anymore - stone melee in particular is awesome on a 4ft toon. Especially when coupled with stone armour,
