I heard they reactivated everyone's account for the weekend...

HOLY THREAD NECROMANCY BATMAN!
welcome back, if only for the weekend.
and to whoever, yeah coh sucks... almost as hard as your momma did last night.
-
Well, vanguard allegedly lasts for 60 seconds, whereas powerboost lasts 15 ... implying vanguard then powerboost.
unless you have a boat load of control powers, not likely to be much of an issue... -
I'd like to join with my scrapper if that's ok.
-
Fire/Rad is pretty amazing (right up there with fire/storm and fire/kin).
Could you 'solo' AVs? possibly. Is it going to be worth it? Probably not. If you want to try it, go for it.
I'd suggest taking a long hard look at Inventions with an eye to maximising +end, =rech, since endurance is one of the big things that will bite you in the [censored]. AM will help with this (hence the need for +RECH).
Rad infection and EF should help increase the life expectancy of your imps, but they will be pretty squishy vs. an av.
Good luck with it. -
Well, it isn't as insanely great as it used to be but it is still one of the more fun sets to play and pretty effective. Inventions mean it looks like there could be some interesting slotting choices ahead

imo, tri form is meh, WS's nova/human is the way to go
[/ QUOTE ]
no double mirey blasts of doom? -
Ice/Kin is great (got one of those at 50), as is Fire/Kin, Sonic/Kin (AoE sleep +Fulcrum shift), Fire/Rad, Fire/Dark etc.
-
Congrats guys, I did try to get you some competition on Union but it clashed with PvP night
I ended up having to solo the sodding thing -
Well, we'll all have to be very quiet anyway, as there are currently pixies tap dancing on my skull (yes, they are wearing hob-nailed boots).
We'll turn up @8, see if anyone bites and if not you lot can go RV and I'll go farm turrets on my brute
EDIT - I'm afraid I can't start before 8 (and in this instance it is specifically chosen to go head to head with defiant in a bit of friendly competition). -
[ QUOTE ]
In addition while I've got probably over 20 HOs on my Kinetic now, I could still, realistically, use a couple more slots to get more from her.
[/ QUOTE ]
c'mon, that's just being greedy, surely?
Any chance you'd post your build? I'd love to see what a tricked out build actually looks like. -
Looks like I'll have to solo the LRSF
... again -
Following on from the suggestion of an all corruptor LRSF on test those deviants are having a stab at it this thursday at 8pm. (See here for details.
Anyone fancy giving them a bit of friendly competition? Start at the same time and and see who gets the prize first?
All corruptors, preferably at 50? -
[ QUOTE ]
Its happening on test for various reasons if you're still interested let me know
[/ QUOTE ]
Is the main reason so that if anyone disconnects they stay in team?
I think there's probably enough interest to run this on union and defiant once TFs/SFs are fixed? While I'm sure people want to do it for the sake of doing it (I'm levelling a Dom for the same reason after all) I'd kind of like the SHOE as well -
[ QUOTE ]
It does on builds that are very poor endurance wise. Anyone with even a moderately sensible build endurance wise will not benefit from it, I prefer not to slot to accomodate people who make a complete mess of their own characters at the expense of functionality on my own. I guess it's a matter of personal preference.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are aware you are talking about a grand total of two slots, right? I always find kins relatively easy to slot, since recharge and endurance aren't as much of an issue for them.
Three slots is a bit of a luxury but if you can afford the slots it will help others be more effective (either mitigating their own poor builds or for the occasional situation where they bottom out and transference has just fired off). Of course I'm talking about avoiding all of 10 seconds downtime (if that), but I prefer zero downtime on my teams.
Plus you can switch end mod for run speed and see who notices- a granite with (3x run speed) slotted speed boost is hilarious.

it'll be nice to see how stuff has changed.
[/ QUOTE ]
They get it to work on a regular basis now
The MAIN change is just how few people turn up. I think that is actually why they are so successful. Plus the sheer amount of AM on the holding group is insane (I had 20 on me last week). -
[ QUOTE ]
Errm I dont think that flying invis and commanding a heavy to kill the turrets is hazarous, really
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is where the fact it is a PvP zone comes into play ... at least, it always has on union when I've been in there.
I can tell who's just interesting in farming because they tend to leave after a kill or two (or ten). I've even had teams of farmers leave when I'm on my own in there, which was a bit bizarre.
Some of the responses on this thread say more about the relative state of PvP experiences than they do about the design of the zone.
Seriously, if you don't like people farming, drop the farmers. Drop them until they give up and leave the zone.
((then settle down to do some farming until somebody else comes to get YOU)

You should take all these disagreements to the arena!
[/ QUOTE ]
No! Duel - with Heavies - in RV! :P
[/ QUOTE ]
First one to take out an AV wins? :P -
You said "this mechanic is broken if 1 player can ruin 20 players fun". I explained why I had a problem with that scenario and you come back with a trite dismissal which plenty of people have a problem with, because of well known game mechanics. I fail to see how that is trashtalk.
[ QUOTE ]
All I am attempting to do, is when I notice a problem in game mechanics I voice it out.
[/ QUOTE ]
You haven't noticed a problem in game mechanics, you've expressed an opinion. Plenty of people, including me, disagree with that opinion. Since you feel the need to accuse me of putting words in your mouth, I thought I'd include the entire sentence, in context.
If you want to take your ball and go home, fine. Your loss. -
[ QUOTE ]
I thought you have been continually 'talking down' to me..
[/ QUOTE ]
hell no, that's browbeating. (according to weasel, anyway).
-
[ QUOTE ]
Stalkers familiar to you?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, they're the thing my /devices blaster with tactics running and CMed (EDIT - I meant Froted, but to be fair he gets both) up the wazoo just loves to play with.
Plus rains, caltrops etc. over the turret, waiting to see a 'miss' pop up before you pop a couple of yellows, etc., etc.
I might not PvP on a regular basis but can you please stop automatically talking down to me just because I don't go into mind numbing detail in my posts. I thought "spotters" described the above perfectly well... -
[ QUOTE ]
You can easily despawn the AVs whether or not the 20 people actively PVP..
[/ QUOTE ]
If I was running a team of 20 to badgerate the zone, unless there's a concerted effort from another team, the other side shouldn't even get out of the doors, or make it past the spotters by each turret. In the hypothetical 20-1 case you mentioned, I genuinely can't see how it would happen unless the '1' is very gifted, or the 20 need to get themselves sorted. -
[ QUOTE ]
And no matter what the reason, I still consider it unfair or bad design that a single person can sabotage so efficiently the efforts of 20+ people.
[/ QUOTE ]
Requiring the 20 people to *gasp* actively PvP, instead of using the zone for non-PvP purposes?
Remind me, are we for or against that in RV this week? -
[ QUOTE ]
True...right after Spectral Wounds, Blind, Superior Invisibility, Group Invisibility, Phantom Army and Spectral Terror
[/ QUOTE ]
well, not for effectiveness, but there's nothing like watching a bunch of fire imps attack their own teams, especially if they can't see you. -
[ QUOTE ]
The majority of posters are not the majority of PvP'ers. Subtle difference.
[/ QUOTE ]
yes yes, the majority of people here disagree with you so they can't possibly be a representative sample. It all makes sense when you explain it that way.
