The only PvP I do is the occasional evening in Siren's ... occasionally you'll come across a group of people 1vs1. I generally leave them alone unless I'm not aware it is a 1v1 e.g.there was one occasion where I zip round a corner into a mob of about 10 heroes/villains - I dive straight in only to then notice only two of them are actually doing something. I wasn't the only person to make that mistake as the regen scrapper chasing me piled in and did exactly the same... they hadn't announced it (although the only way to make sure everyone hears it is to spam broadcast every minute, which brings its own problems in terms of abuse or people taking it as an invtie to grief intentionally).
I think so long as everyone remembers that occasionally snarl ups like this happen, it can be ok. -
take it, if only for use against Longbow spec-ops.

Kinetic is a great secondary. A little tricky to play effectively with energy (your primary knocks them away, your secondary needs them in close to work).
There should be a number of guides available. You may also be able to get away with just hover - 3 slot for speed and slot up siphon speed as well... one of the nice things about kinetics. -
I think it is more perception than reality. I could be wrong of course - but I have a corruptor and a defender both at 27 and they both level at about the same speed (although the solo/team ratios are slightly different). Plus the hours of elapsed play on them are pretty near identical.

hmmm... time to start levelling up my /kin defender again (who will have more single target holds by 50 than my controller. How messed up is that?)
I also like the fact that it seems everyone is involved ... might stop some of the usual (and justified) complaints from the tank/scrappers... -

SJ is a good choice as you'll want Acrobatics from that pool for knockback protection.

I currently have only one SO in Acrobatics and I find if I turn it off until people start putting me on my [censored], I don't have any endurance issues (1 End reduc in all shields, 2 in CoF). Acro will probably get another end reduc if I can spare it. -

Depends. Solo I do use aggro to generate fury. At low levels, on large teams where you're the only melee type ... the only thing moving faster than your fury bar is your health bar...
I'm fine with my own aggro. I can even handle 2 or 3 others aggro for a while if I need to... another 7? not just yet -

It's also helped you that you've had a couple of brutes in the SG to SK you up on a regular basis for Speed Boost.

The one problem I've found with fire/dark is that the odd fire resistant mob will give you truly horrific times solo. I'd pick up Air Sup just for that (well ok, and some other stuff).
Ice/Kin FTW! Although I can appreciate you may want to lay off the ice for a bit ... (still hoping for Ice/Storm at some point...) -

Bingo. I have an EM/DA and I leave the 2 big hitters (TF +ET) out of the attack chain unless there's a spec-ops or equivalent OR I'm pounding on a boss. Only TF is left out for endurance reasons but using that whenever it is available is a fury killer, because I end up having to rest to recover in missions (which realy slows things down). Low end attacks all the way up to the boss, full head of steam and TF + ET = mission complete.
EDIT:- plus at low level, relying on aggro to generate fury also gets you killed repeatedly. I know we're brutes and all, but not in a good way... -

All I meant was that I spend more time messing about in PvP or badge hunting, so I don't find AoE holds all that useful. Given that I've only got one respec left, I'll probably just respec into a Hami-Raid build, where blind + choking cloud is really all you need. I'll probably shoehorn EMP into the build, just because I couldn't imagine giving it up -
I have a 50 Ill/Rad and she does ok ...
I'd suggest a /regen scrapper or mind/storm if you want something that seems to cause people most grief. -

A question if you please? Is there any chance that for the duration of aim and BU that if u have apet like voltaic sentinel out, it will be buffed, blizzard is intangible but soon to be buffable, why not VS? also PB works when casting buffs like RA, so maybe Aim/BU -> VS, or just as i said before wheere it feeds off your buff?
If it were the case that VS were to become tangible/buff/debuffable i would rather it was left, it alone is enough to own a defender who can't heal even if u are busy being held/debuffed/tickled to death

Hmm. really must get round to updating that guide for ED/I6..
One thing I've found is that you don't really need 2 AoE holds after the duration/timing reductions. Or rather, AoE holds aren't as useful as other powers so you can get by with just the one.
I'm even thinking of taking choking cloud and six slotting it as *gasp* it is relatively much more useful now.
Of course, I'm at 50 and thinking of hami raids etc. ... -

You don't need them, but tough can be quite nice. I personally wouldn't bother with weave.
I went with Cloak of Fear/Air Sup./TP Foe in preference and am loving it. Power Gamers (I think) take boxing + tough.
