Quote:Well, WP has nothing to complain about considering it get a mini-tier 9 + a rez earlier on. And that's not even mentioning the +dmg, +ToHit, +recovery and +rech bonus attached to that self rez.^ Sums up nicely, really. At least the rez does damage and...stun? I think? Unlike WP where you just get up again...and probably die again.
Seriously, I still do not get the things like KB holes in armour sets. I mean...why? Just why?
In all honestly, it's probably one of the *better* self rezzes because you can just pop that god-mode afterwards.
As for Soul Transfer, it's not *that* bad. Yes it stuns....a mag *30* stun! What can resist that barring a GM? But I wouldn't be opposed to adding a self buff to it like a +def per foe for 60sec afterwards...or perhaps an unresistable debuff to dmg and ToHit on the foe? -
I don't think DA needs capped neg energy resists. Although Fire Armor has it (and is DA's closest analog), Fire Armor also doesn't have nearly as much possible mitigation. Although I wouldn't be opposed to an upward tweek to neg reisists, I don't think it's really needed.
Now I *do* think that DA should be able to laugh at -ToHit similarly to how Elec can -END/-recovery. Adding the debuff resist to one of the res toggles, the mez resist toggle and the stealth aura/the passive would probably be where you'd stick it in. I mean, you're someone constantly fighting with black clouds hovering around you, you could probably fight blindfolded by now...
I'd advocate for an increase to the -ToHit debuff in Cloak of Fear. High enough to make it effective defense and I think DA would be dandy as it is. Despite what you may think, DA isn't all that bad and can work very well for mitigation and tanking. But having specialties like other sets do is just a bonus. -
Quote:In the OP's defense, it wouldn't necessarily disappear while the power recharges, it would disappear when you clicked another power. It'd only 'look' like it was appearing from nowhere and disappear in thin air if you choose the animations like that and used them in that order.I'll grant that it would be possible.
It would also look terrible.
What the OP is asking for is that selected animations be replaced by an animation with a nunchaku that comes from out of nowhere, and returns to nowhere until that power recharges.
You wouldn't be able to tell us if it would look terrible or not, not with the kind of animation team we've got now. Look at ninja run, look at the upcoming dual pistol animations and tell me with perfect foresight how it would look.
Quote:And then the OP picked the absolute least appropriate power to use as his example. The only nunchaku technique that could conceivably do what Crane Kick does is a technique that has none of the visual flair that made the nunchaku famous. (The technique is basically holding the two sticks together, one hand over the other, and pushing them into the midsection of the target. The technique is meant to strike the solar plexus and knock the wind out of the target. It would be extremely difficult to put enough force behind it to significantly knock the target back.) This would actually be the easiest nunchaku animation to do, but it would also look the worst (I will note that I have never seen this technique used in a movie, and I have seen a lot of martial arts movies). If a budoka wielding nunchaku wants to knock his target back, a la Crane Kick, he will execute a kick.
What really makes the nunchaku visually appealing and a threatening weapon is the flow of its use. A person skilled with the nunchaku can make the attack seem to come from any angle with minimal telegraphing of the move. From the standard over the shoulder hold, I can attack from seven different angles, same with the behind the back position. I would hate to see nunchaku mishmashed into Martial Arts with a appearing and disappearing weapon.
Yes, the OP's idea would be possible. It would also look awful.
/unsigned
Yes, the nunchaku's appeal is how it flows but then Martial Arts currently flows quite nicely, animation time-wise. So if the animations are done right, I don't see why alternate nunchaku animations couldn't flow just as nicely.
My opinion is, I don't really care for the appeal of nunchaku use. It's the only weapon I probably don't want to see in the game. But others may want to see it as much as I want to see a Scythe set.
As a set, I'm against nunchaku and feel it probably have similar effects to what MA would have now. Rather than making a superfluously extended set like Katana and Broadsword, just make it 1 set with a theme choice you can change in the power customization menu. But rather than choosing it 'power by power', you'd have to have the entire set be 'nunchaku' if you wanted to use it. [EDIT] Currently this hasn't been done but I don't see it as impossible either and you'd be able to use punches and kicks and nunchaku all on one character, you'd just need to change costumes.[/EDIT]
I may not be behind nunchaku itself, I am behind doing what I said above to alot of other sets. Alot of people suggest new sets that probably don't have much standing on their own as a set (think the 'Street Fighting' set and here, Nunchaku) and for those ideas, they should be 'integrated' into existing sets as animations rather than whole new sets. -
The boys silly string hardened over the weapon. Yes, only 1 of the weapons; the marshmallow bazooka. Jase managed to mangle the boys perception just before the attack to get him to attack slightly delayed. But it wasnt the silly string he had altered his attack for, it was the turret, the only foe aiming at him that he wouldnt be able to fool with mental trickery.
The ninja teleported back, just in time for it to open fire right on the spot he appeared again but Jase was prepared. His scythe strapped to his back and his belt fully armed with kunai and shuriken, Jase faced down the assaulting machine gun fire. With inhuman accuracy and speed, Jase threw blade after blade, dozen after dozen at the hail of fire. The turret and ninja were deflecting each others projectiles with their own. They seemed evenly matched, the machine gun versus a master knife thrower, but Jase had one tiny advantage: he could throw 6-8 projectiles with one throw while the cake turret was limited by how many barrels it had. Slowly, fire began to slip through and the turret began to take damage. Jase finally ended it by slipping in an exploding shuriken in his barrage with a pastry and frosting shockwave finale.
But the shadow ninja didnt get out of the fire fight without injuries. He was bleeding profusely from his shoulder and a wound in his exposed side. He had to turn his focus primarily on the turret during the little duel but Jase kept his mind expanded so he could telepathically pick up any attackers that would try to sneak up on him.
Gasping and bloody with one arm slightly limp, Jase just smirked at Acids comment. Tough talk coming from a weakling that hides behind gadgets, he half laughed and groaned. The difference between you and me is you without your robots are nothing. And yet, even if Im nothing to you, Im not afraid to face the odds.
Jase didnt wait to be attacked again and drew an oversized knife, more the size of a sword, from his back. It appeared from the darkness, the ninjas most powerful tool, the knife called Unsho. And despite that, I can still win! Opening with a hail of blades, Jase threw with his free hand a barrage of knives with an exploding shuriken mixed in at the Urban Fellow -
Similarly to the merry fellow, Jase also had a shield. His shadow. However, he looked to it for a moment but still got the signal that it was too weakened to fight at the moment, thanks to the glob of red paint earlier. Jase figured he’d just have to watch his back carefully until the shadow was back in shape.
As for his previous attack, it didn’t truly miss. It hit its mark perfectly. The one the boy had ‘dodged’ wasn’t aimed at him but his shadow that rested at his feet. The flare of bright light from the shield was an unexpected bonus as its light just made the shadow more opaque for Jase’s use. A quick manipulation to make the shadow nice and rubbery, tie the shadow in a neat bow around the loop in the knife handle and then finish by letting the law of shadows do the rest.
Any attempt at movement would be thwarted by a persistent tether of darkness binding its caster in place and normal activity, while possible, would be slowed to a crawl. That is the result of resisting ones own shadow.
“I’m the bad guy?” Jase snarled through a sinister smile although the Urban Fellow wouldn’t see it because Jase appeared right behind him. The dark blade curved over the boy’s shoulder and the black razor’d edge loomed around him and his marshmallow bazooka to make it tough to draw it fully. “But what about that evil bad man you’re holding hostage over there?” the ninja inquired, but didn’t wait for an answer, the scythe that still sparked with the power that executed the Widow sank in to reap more blood. -
The dark explosion splashed the ground like a wave of ink, staining the ground with blackness. Any living thing it touched soon shriveled and turned to a shell of its former self, weakened and lifeless.
But I thought you loved to talk, Jase laughed in response. Just before the turret opened fire, the ninja disappeared in a swirl of darkness, reappearing on the back of one of his spiderlings that continued to scurry about, spreading Jases dark weave. The spider had no issue towing Jases weight and continued moving at high speeds, currently away from the confetti. And as he rode, the long curve of his weapon hung over, scrapping along the ground but rather than earth or sparks, blackness parted in a V shape, like a boat in water.
Why are you so angry? Did you actually care for her feelings? As he talked, Jase drew a handful of knives from his belt. Or if I have similar circumstances as her? Are you going to kill me too? If it was one thing Jase could do better than anyone, it was throw a weapon. His accuracy and power with each knife was second to none and youd never know exactly what kind of knife it was. This time was no different. The half dozen blades hurtled at the strange boy with deadly intention. -
((Way to ham up a power name? >_>
Stalkers don't get Torrent. What that was was Disruptor Blast, the AoE attack of the Mace Mastery patron pool. If you don't get it, that scythe is his 'mace' and using it allows him to attack with his dark powers where normally he can only control them.
Secondly, the strength of a power doesn't depend on some arbitrary 'tier' system that balance powersets in a video-game. You'd figure it's determined by the Player's intent otherwise a detention field wouldn't be such an 'I Win' button.
Thirdly, yeah, I sooo could have just took that rifle blast earlier and laughed right back because MMs have such *weak* damage but no, I gave you the benefit of the doubt, as a fellow player, that none of us are of omni-potent god-like status so attacks, no matter from who, are dangerous.))
-
Well, not everyone has purchased the Magic Booster so wouldn't have access to the power.
And even if everyone does have it, they might not care to use it. For me? My tech-ish mutant scrapper wouldn't use magic cards to tell fortunes...he just doesn't believe in that stuff. -
I think there are a lot of temp powers that you only see for a little while and disappear from the game forever, these can be used as craftable inventions.
I think I remember an old Steel Canyon mission vs Council that had you picking through boxes that had temp powers (one I think was a teleport power that gave you short-term intangibility). It disappeared right after the mission tho.
Or what about those self-buffs from destroying that lab equipment. Maybe you can invent a type of portable version of this? The balancing factor being it can't self stack and still be random?
I'm sure there are alot of temp powers that people enjoy using but they run out of juice eventually. -
Quote:/facepalm
I'm not averse to Stalkers; it's just not a play style that I enjoy all that much. Their "in, out, and wait" mechanic doesn't mesh well with my preferences
....
....that was like, reflex. Seriously, I was sitting here resting my chin on my arm and scrolling down. When I read that, my chin slipped and my forehead went into my palm...I didn't even *mean* to, it just happened. -
The instant the guillotine fell, Jases shadow unmolded from around the widow, conscious of the young looking fellows bucket of paint. The shadow rose as a figure in Jases image, with arms up to block, in Jases place. Taking the entire attack before melting back down into a shadow, only a small amount splashed on the real Jases shoulder and a secondary splash from the ground got a part of his boot and shin. The rest, however, got the widow and ended her shadowy display that Jase eyed momentarily. It was a shame that the end had to be so public. But when a mass of heroes or whomever come stomping through to come ruin delicate work like said mission, sacrifices had to be made.
The ninja grit his teeth at the acid like substance that started eating into him. Well, little boy, Jase said through his teeth, now smiling back, Id have seemed even more like a meany if I struck her without her knowing it was coming.
The three spiderlings still scurried about, spreading their black thread and it was this that Jase used to deflect Acids attack. Jase scratched the ground with the point of his scythe, and a spout of darkness rose up from the scathed earth, consuming the energy and light of the bolt without discrimination of its strength or lack-thereof. The shadow scythe, once called Moon Shrouder. A ceremonial scythe capable of cutting shadows themselves I offered you the chance to destroy my little spiders Jase drew up his weapon, quickly winding it back and hooked upward, cracking the earth and sending a cut along the dark webs that were being laid out.
I gave you the chance because I felt sorry for *you*! The webs severed and gushed, like cutting along a vein, the blood releasing uncontrolled but instead of blood, it was ink-like blackness. The slash sent this blackness in a torrent of darkness that would explode to engulf Acid, the Urban Kid of Merry Wit and the congressman in a wave of life sucking shadows. -
Quote:THEN SAY THAT!
So yes, EVERY single Stalker set has reduced survival to some degree over even Scrappers.
Reread the quoted post of yours. You said Stalkers lose out on HP AND defense. When, in fact, they usually *gain* defense over Scrappers thanks to Hide.
If you're going to make precise posts about the numbers on Stalkers then *be* accurate.
Quote:No it isn't. Scrapper base damage is 1.125 and Stalker is 1.00.
A Stalker's damage output is dependent on a the same factor as a Scrapper: It's set by set. Some deal better AoE dmg than others and some have more utility, etc. For example: You don't make a Dark Melee scrapper and complain about the AoE dmg you deal. And you don't make a Martial Art's Stalker and complain that it can't do AoE dmg.
Why? Because that's how the sets are *designed*. It's like complaining Blasters are too squishy.
Quote:With the addition of hide, placate, and AS, the Stalker can get some burst damage in, but those are all time-consuming activities
Quote:There are two sets with ZERO AoE powers, one being MA which previously had a rather good AoE damage. Then the remaining sets outside of Elec and Spines are left with only cones, no PBAoEs. Sets like Dark Melee, which you mentioned, had poor AoE before, but between the two long-recharge PBAoEs it was at least "poor to okay," while with the loss of those it's mostly just "almost nonexistant" having to rely on SM exclusively.
-Electric Melee has a PBAoE, Spines has a PBAoE. That *has* to count against the argument that Stalker sets are left with "no PBAoEs".
As for Dark melee, it's more the choice of "Do you want to have good ST dmg but crap AoE?" or "Do you want to have GREAT ST dmg and NO AoE?". I can see the other side of the argument but don't knock Stalker DM till you try it. It's a BEAST! Far more powerful feeling in the hands of a stalker than I could manage it with a scrapper for reasons as follow:
-It's fast! Fast attacks = fast crits and stalkers are the masters of crits.
-Controlled Crit Midnight Grasp. Easily drops a LT.
-Build up. Soul Drain is great...if you have a good number of foes around but BU is better if you're bursting stuff NOW.
-It loses nothing (of great worth)! Dark Consumption is great and all but I can figure out a more efficient way to maintain my blue bar.
Quote:DM does have weak AoE on a Scrapper. But note that it's EVEN WEAKER on a Stalker yet STRONGER ST.
EM has really weak AoE. But it has ZERO AoE on a Stalker yet Stronger ST.
Quote:Unfortunately, Katana, Broadsword, Claws, Martial Arts, and Dual Blades all have pretty good AoE. But they don't on Stalkers. Instead of having a couple ST-oriented sets (DM, EM), Stalkers turn EVERY set into an ST-oriented set, and then your only option for AoE is Elec. -
Quote:Just to set the record straight about Stalkers: It's not really true what you're saying about defense. Stalkers don't *lose* defense from their secondary. More often than not, they *gain* defense such as in Super Reflexes (loses out on passive resistance but gain more base defense via hide) and Regeneration's case (who does lose great utility from Quick Recovery but gains some +def via hide). They have the same armor numbers as Scrappers or Brutes with the difference being they have a lower base and cap for HP (and brutes having higher res caps than either). Most of the primaries lose out on AoE powers in exchange for AS. Some sets have ZERO AoE powers. They also lose out on HP (especially max HP; ask a WP how they feel about their HP cap) and defenses in their secondary.
Stalkers are ST specialists. But the reason they suck is because they aren't good enough at that to warrant all the cons they come with. 95% of the game's content doesn't need high ST damage. The few situations where you might want it (AVs, GMs), other ATs are just as capable as a Stalker. And for that other 95% of content, the Stalker is kind of just dead weight.
Now MAYBE if Stalkers were just REALLY GOOD at doing ST damage, that would be different. But they really don't push that far ahead of Scrappers or Brutes, and that's even when they're on a full team.
Stalkers, Defenders, and Tankers all suffer from this problem as I see it. They only do one thing, and it's something that other ATs can do well enough that their "specialty" isn't necessary. Blasters are the other AT that only does one thing, but the one thing is tons of damage, and damage isn't a waste. Stalkers would need to do more damage to be worthwhile.
As for the damage, it's the same as Scrapper: set by set.
You don't pick up a Dark Melee scrapper and then complain it has weak AoE. That's just how the set was designed.
Same for Stalkers although less forgiving.
Some Stalker melee sets are just built to capitalize on ST while others are a mix. You want ST? Go EM, MA, DM. Want AoE? Spines, DB, Elec. etc.
And while some sets get the shaft, other sets actually shine *better* on a stalker. Take Elec Melee? Every other AT gets non-dmg Thunderclap. But stalkers replace that with a strong ST attack (something that set is lacking in) *plus* it can unleash the AoE attacks of the set in huge bursts thanks to Hide, Placate coupled with BU.
Dark Melee is similar. A set that has weak AoE? Yeah, just remove Dark Consumption (nice utility, yes) and replace it with an *actual attack*? It only strengthens that set.
Or Dual Blades, a set that loses an *actual* AoE attack, is compensated for losing that PBAoE by having longer range in 1kcuts and capable of dishing out *better burst* than your average DB thanks to AS and having BU rather than BF. There's other little quirks within that set that make it awesome but I won't go into it... -
The growing web of shadows pulsed as a shadow zipped through it like an electric signal through a power line and straight toward the widow. Out stretched a pair of arms from the darkness, a kunai knife in his hands and quickly stabbed at the ground. The target was the womans shadow to hold her in place supplemented by the arms revealing the figure they were attached to being the ninjas shadow who then gripped the woman in a lock to bind her. Jases shadow melted into a formless cocoon of blackness that would keep her bound for his next attack.
Jase, himself, deflected a few of the ice projectiles with a spin of his scythe but several made it through, stabbing him in the shoulder and arms. A jolt of cold rushed through his body but he simply smirked. The bleak blackness of a humans heart is far colder than ice something you should be all too familiar with, Jase returned and drew up his scythe which took in the woven shadows around through the hilt of the weapon. The dark metal of the weapon grew hazy and its form not quite solid, for its edge was teeming with the blackness of another world.
Sorry for the quick execution, but it seems my friends are on a schedule. He lunged with the shadow scythe but, for Widow Frost, it seemed to be an unseen blur. Jase disappeared just before the attack (placate), only to appear behind her with the scythes blade resting at her neck. A simple pull is all it took. -
((Ya, you can't just go "I'm board" and then leave with a major plot point! That's just not even cool and you know it.))
-
-
The spiders scurried, crawled and jumped, seemingly randomly. But the obvious aftermath of their movements was the black thread they left behind them. The black thread Jase had attached to them at the start stretched and ran along the floors and wall. Although the single 3 strands werent much alone, after a few moments of weaving, the shadow web around them grew more elaborate and dark.
As widow came to a realization about her situation, Jase simply smirked a sinister smile. I usually work alone but their help in drawing you out was most helpful. He reached for his scythe and yanked it up with a delicious metallic sheathing noise. But its too late for negotiations. Ive already accepted payment for your deaths. Deaths. As in, more than one. But go ahead, weve got time before arranging your execution. He lied to feed the cornered widow's confusion. Perhaps he could weasel some information about the amulet he was tasked to retrieve.
((Sorry about the late response. Got caught up in work and all.)) -
((I PM'ed Paradigm to see if he was going to react. Should I just post?))
-
Still seated and fiddling with his string, Jase bit his lower lip as he focused on weaving the right string between the right fingers. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, Ah ha! Like this.. he mumbled as he took a ring finger into another gap in the string and pulled. The string stretched to reveal a spider pattern woven between his hands. Not wasting time to admire the expert pattern work, he destroyed it by clasping his hands together and the string disappeared in a smoky shadow.
Eyeing the Merry Urban kid heralding the widows dagger, a smirk inched across his face. Hey, want to play a game? he asked, his smile curling up into a grin. Itll be fun and the rules are simple. Pushing his hands in front of him in a Zai hand sign, a shadow bubbled in front of him and out of it, a trio of black spiders as tall as a large dog with long spiny legs rose up. Besides their red glowing eyes and the red stripes along their abdomen and cephalothorax segments, they were completely black.
The game is called Whack-a-spider, he continued as he reached the fingers of one hand toward the freakishly large arachnoids. A dark strand emerged from the ninjas fingertips and locked onto the spinnerets of each spider. All you have to do is SQUASH EM! The last part, he shouted as he slammed the hand he tied his anthropoid minions with on the ground which signaled to the spiders to Go. They blindly scurried around at enormous speed, one crawling up the side of the hospital and leaping onto a nearby street post, another crawling up the leg of Acids large robot and another weaving around those standing between the widow and congressman.
((Jase *is* a stalker and he choose the patron pool Mace Mastery. Notable powers from the pool are Web Cocoon and Spiderlings. Although in-game he doesnt have the spiderlings yet, hes got the cocoon but eventually hell have both.)) -
Quote:No, it's not so much I have little regard for the team. Of course not. If the corruptor is getting swarmed, don't think I won't run in to fight or if that MM is in the midst of an ambush, I'll certainly finish what I'm dealing with and move where the targets are.
I'm sorry to be rude, but I'm seeing a very clear pattern here.
You seem to have overall little regard for the team in both the circumstances of knockback, as well as how you play your brute.
I'm not saying you need to play as a tanker - but simply having no regard for what's happening to other teammates or where the next spawn is, indicated by the 2 quotes above, shows a considerable lack of regard for team play.
So it looks like we have wildly different playstyles. For me, the team comes first. I go along with what works best for the team I'm on.
I'm lucky that I'm on a static team with roughly the same pool of players, and most of us appreciate similar styles of play.
What I'm not doing is taking my playstyle, no matter how oppressive and impressive it is, and then label it as something it's not. As a melee, the sum of your narrow contributions is damage. Outside of a true Tanker, asking anything more is just a plea to appease yourself. Cries for attention and unimpeded glory for yourself is all it is. In that case, you might as well split up from the team's path or just solo. Because if you were actually thinking of the *team* and not just *you*, you'd take into consideration the advantage *all* the effects capable by your team and not just how they mesh with *yours*.
Quote:It's most effective to be surrounded by Spin's full allotment of targets and use it as often as it's available, and mixing in your other attacks when available - unless you're taking down a single hard target
Quote:At the same time, if the Brute can handle the alpha strikes I'm not sure why you wouldn't want him to?
Why should only the Brute get to do it? I love getting the chance to pop the alpha on my stalkers with an AS. It's a good way to nullify half the enemy's first strike and with their soften volley, let my protections handle what gets through. There's nothing more fun than popping domination and a whole spawn (or two even) suddenly can't do crap. BU+ Shield Charge on a Scrapper?
And if you think the Brutes need to take it for fury, that's the reason I mentioned my Claws/EA brute (he rarely takes alphas at all). -
Getting a tad flustered, Jase withdrew his scythe with a spin and let it come to rest on his shoulder. You people are too much, he growled. Listening to their circumstances just made him all the more aloof to emotion. Who really gets recompense for showing pity to either of them? Superiority complex? Some loaded sense of justice? You should recognize a sinking ship when you see it.
With a heavy swing, Jase stabbed the pointed tip of his scythe into the pavement, long enough to free his hands. well, Ill just speed up this whole situation a bit. He began playing a game of cats cradle with, what would presumably be a string of pure blackness. As he dexterously spun the strand through his fingers, his black weave began to get more complex and expansive. After a moment, he sat with his legs folded, still weaving the string. There was an obvious look of frustration as he eyed the pattern, ..come on, he sighed, apparently having some difficulty. -
Quote:Who said I don't? I use Spin but I use it in the instances it's most effective. I *could* take advantage of Shockwave's KB to cluster foes and then use Spin...OR I can just slash whatever is close with everything else. Besides, throwing spin over and over gets old so mixing it up with ST and Shockwave fixes that.
You're welcome to your opinion. But the fact is if you're not using every endurance points worth of spin when you let loose with it, you're not taking advantage of what is currently either the highest or one of the highest DPA PAoE's for Brutes in the game.
Quote:And you don't need to be specifically built for anything other than incoming attacks to take advantage of it.
Quote:Yes at 31 as a Brute, it will be difficult to play tank for large groups.
When your Brute is L50. And is fully IOd, and capable of handling the 10 targets Spin can hit - I can't imagine any reason you wouldn't want him to be using it to it's full effect.
and BRUTES AREN'T TANKS! If you want yours to be a tank that's you but mine wishes to strike unimpeded by the needs of the team. He's not worried how close that next spawn is or if the MM got attacked by an ambush. He'll handle what comes *his* way and mop up the rest later.
And the reason for not taking advantage of the full 10 target spin? Simple:
Because there aren't always 10 foes huddled while twiddling their thumbs waiting for you to kill them! Because when there aren't 10 foes huddled while twiddling their thumbs, I don't want to be the whining ***** that's threatening to kick people for not lining up my bags of xp like I want it! And no, KB doesn't need to be present in order to have scattered mobs.
-
Quote:I've got one of those. My Claws/EA brute. So far, at lvl 31, he solos +1x4 spawns and how he does it without needing a tidal wave of inspirations is that he can effectively attack single lone targets on the fringes of the spawns without alerting everything in the room. He can kill off 1-3 guys before anyone usually notices.
Maybe you're right. Maybe there are Brutes who run around the edges of the fray and attack single lone targets, while there's a big rumble happening.
I've yet to see it happen, but maybe it exists.
On a team, he isn't a Tanker (really, few Brutes are) and he'd readily let the Stalker take the alpha than him and yet, he is swimming in Fury. He's just really really effective at ripping apart a target but he also has Spin and Shockwave to unleash AoE dmg if the foes happen to be packed together.
In short, he has no weaknesses or specific circumstances that he excels in and is crap in others. If there is a body, he'll rip it apart. If there are bodies, he'll rip them apart.
My point is, while building for maximum AoE and what not is dandy and all, it sort of reveals a weakness in that you need foes clustered in a certain way for maximum effect. Not a horrible thing, really, you just need to put them in that position first. But if you can't then of course you're going to view everything else a detriment. But then that's how you built the character so not anyone/anything else's fault. -
Quote:See? Now if we didn't have people retorting with how lazy you are, we'd all sound like no one cared about KB. It's not a jab at you, just balancing out the reputation of KBGeko, I'm with you all the way. I hate knockback with a passion and I also think it should be changed to knockdown. Knockback does more harm than good.
-
And how often do you face those compared to the masses of minions, Lts and the splash of bosses thrown in?
