    But back on topic:
Lycanus, thanks for those pics. I really don't feel like DLing the trial to see CO's costume creator myself, knowing dead well I'll uninstall it right after. I love that Koi character too! And that Gothicka chick is HOT!!!

However, that Kitsune and Werewolf look *horrible*! It's just...so....pixelated?
  2. Don't worry, Sam, you're the exception.

IMO, it's a system that is just poorly designed. It makes buying enhancements a pain. It makes respec'ing a pain. It makes normal teaming when you're accumulating drops a pain. And yet, you want to make it more painful? Because you're jaded? Is it so wrong to want to save your work in an RPG? Do other MMOs cause your gear to dissolve when you want to take it off? I just don't understand.

I would at least like to be able to store enhancements in that same salvage storage place. Or giving some kind of option to send respec'ed enhancements to the market.

Really? I thought their statement about enhancement slots involved accumulating drops, not respecs.

You admit in the opening words of your OP that you're not very experienced with the Stalker AT. Try playing it with a more open mind, and stop trying to make AS the center of how you play.
I'll reiterate this. Having played several variants and set combos of Stalker, they take AS in widely different approaches. OP, you're looking at this from a very narrow perspective and yet you don't realize this. AS *can* be the premiere power of your character *IF* you make it so.

I do this on my DM/WP because he hits so hard, it's all about one-shotting stuff so I built him to hit as hard as possible with AS and use Touch of Fear and Placate to make it easier to pull off mid-combat.

But then characters like my Elec/Regen, while he does use it mid-combat, it's not so much a premiere power as it is patching up a hole in his ST dmg capabilities. Rather than maximizing it, he just uses it to punch a hole through a boss because his other ST attacks are recharging. How does a non-defense character use AS mid-combat? Thunderstrike/Lightning Rod, silly.

Would a non-interrupt AS help in-game? Yeah, I'd interrupt myself with movement a lot less but then it takes away a lot of finesse of the AT, if you ask me. That interrupt time also disables rooting. If you need to move, you can so choose to stop your attack or move at the last second to put distance between yourself and your victim.

There are quite a few adjustments to the AT that are better aimed for than the ones you propose.
  6. And who's to say we don't get the Tanker version if FM and they drop Combustion instead for AS?

For Ice melee, I can see the devs going the same route they went with Elec Melee and drop the non-dmg power for AS. Sure, losing Ice Patch would be a hefty loss but I'd take it to keep the set's damage.

Speaking of Ice Patch, Ice armor has 2 PBAoE auras, a dmg one and a slow/-dmg one. Of course the dmg aura gets replaced for Hide. I'd actually argue vs putting in the slow aura and replaced with Ice Patch. But thinking about it, DA has 2 PBAoE auras for the stalker version...but then it had a stealth and dmg aura to replace and few options else to replace them with. The only PBAoE auras stalkers have are soft control (CoF, OG and Repulse) and a debuff aura wouldn't have precedence.

As for Mace, it doesn't *have* to be a great AoE set to be a great set. Overall, the set would have decent AoE *AND* good ST. It'd be like mixing DM with DB and that's a *GOOD* thing. WM would have nice control through KB/KD and stun with some AoE cones. What's not to like about that?

I see a lot to look forward to with proliferation because all of those (Fire Melee, Ice Melee, WM/Axe) are different from eachother in how they fundamentally play *AND* are nothing like what we have now. We'll be getting new play styles on a stalker which we haven't gotten since Elec Melee was ported (and everyone *LOVES* that set!).

When we got broadsword, it was like only getting half a set because, fundamentally, it was the same as ninja blade. You're probably still feeling the numb from that prolif.

But yes, there is a chance that if Paragon Studios went all out to make a comprehensive list of anthropomorphic costume pieces, that there would be a higher degree of really creepy players coming in doing who knows what in ERPs. But I myself don't really give a damn about that, I'm more interested in making new characters and concepts, whether they very human or not.
The way I see it, everybody wins. You can have a bigger furry crowd backing the game (and paying money) and we all get more costume options. Who cares if they go to a corner and do whatever it is they do? How often would that affect *anyone*? Most of the players that post here either solo or are in close-knit SGs. Anyone else are usually PUGs that will knock out radio missions as fast as possible. No room for awkward RP and cybering.

So then were is the problem? Players making nude characters? I'll inform you, unless they add a 'junk' slider, it wouldn't be an issue as furry characters are usually furry because they have fur down there >_>

Not improbable. Just impractical. I can tell you right now if I had 2 computers and 2 accounts, I could probably control them adequately enough to pass as decent. It only take practice.

But, like I have now, I can control 1 character with such acute reaction and speed, it probably would completely overshadow myself playing 2. I'd lose out on whatever utility having 2 characters would bring but more often than not, that extra utility isn't needed the majority of the time.
  10. Have you tried Dual Blades on a Stalker? That's pretty AoE-tastic. You get 2 wide cones (one which is rather long range than normal cones) plus a PBAoE auto-hit combo. Also, don't forget your procs in Ablating Strike as they will always proc in a PBAoE around you despite Ablating being a ST attack. Claws has a bit of AoE too but they nerfed what AoE the set had which I was against despite having no claws stalkers.

I'd start waiting on Proliferation. What other sets can we get that don't have AoE? Super Strength? I guess Stone Melee but then we'd have to get Stone Armor too >_>

All I can say is it's painful to wait on Ice and Fire melee and getting my hands on Mace would just be a sin. I wouldn't mind me some Super Strength either but I'd much rather Ice melee. It's right up our ally, tactic-wise, and we'd have, like, the highest damage ice power in the game. It'd be ridiculous.

Because you heroes *ARE* dumb! That you participate in a system of mass distribution of often illegal substances and dangerous weapons already defeats your argument. Such things shouldn't be bought and sold on a whim.

And you're foolish to believe every hero in Paragon is on the level. I know of at *least* 4 who pose as heroes yet are secretly villains and over a dozen that are dangerous vigilantes that shouldn't be trusted with the safety of civilians.

Yes, you heroes are dumb. Accept it.

  12. A Dragon Booster? No!

A Mutant Booster that has lots of animal themed pieces plus a few dragon pieces suggested in the OP? Yes!!!
  13. I'd simply extend the lvl of the Tsoo to 50.
  14. I have a habit of creating 'linked' characters so when I make 1, I usually will make another soon after or have already thought out the group of characters to make.

    lvl 31 Dark/Sonic Defender
    lvl 30 FF/Energy Defender
    lvl 31 Sonic/Psy Defender
[All of these are 1 character, a woman using different tech suits and color themes. They all have the same name but with different ending designations. It was actually fun trying to make a tech suit with different parts that fit the power theme. Only the FF uses real robotic parts mixed with medieval armor parts and helmet themes for alternate costume slots and uses 'force bubble boots' to super jump. The Sonic/Psy uses antennae, sleek body armor with half helmets and head auras and although she uses techkinesis to fly, she has tech wings to aid speed on one costume. The Dark uses metallic skulls, bones and horns colored in dark violets and black and uses teleporter technology bring conduits of the Netherworld to our realm as well as teleport herself at will]

    lvl 39 MA/Shield Scrapper
    lvl 32 Shield/DM Tanker
    lvl 31 Stone/Shield Brute
[Separate characters with different themes. Embodying the aspects of Mind, Body and Spirit, I thought of the idea when Shields was in Beta. The Brute is 'body', big model dragon character that's a draconic necromancer with dragon, burned and bone wings;he summons dragon bone and using it as weapons. The Tanker is 'spirit', a slim yet tall male model with ram horns and monsterous hooves; he's of a race that manipulates 'spirit energy' to create shields and alter the foe's morale. The Scrapper is 'mind', a small male model that is made out to look like a spider monkey who is super intelligent and uses tech with a specialty on teleportation]

    lvl 41 Sonic/Ice Blaster
    lvl 28 Energy/Fire Blaster
    lvl 34 Elec/EM Blaster
[My 'Megamen'. The Sonic blaster is a homage to Astroboy, Megaman and Zero in concept. None look like them but story-wise, he was a boy that was cryogenically frozen because of an incurable terminal disease who was ultimately fused with technology against his will to live then became a maverick to escape becoming a weapon. Story-wise, he's Astroboy, power-wise he uses a Sonic-muncher-arm-buster cannon and a cryobeam saber. The other 2 are reploids created to capture the first with their own costume theme (the energy/fire uses tech wings and looks like a bird, the elec/em looks like protoman but with different color)]

    lvl 47 Kat/SR Scrapper
    lvl 46 Spines/DA Stalker
[Long story but they are my main characters. They both trained together under a common teacher but one grew dark while the other strove to be a hero. The split paths although they still see eachother as friends. The Spines are suppose to be 'throwing knives' which is the only set that does this well besides Claws]

    lvl 22 Fire/Storm Corr
    lvl 42 Plant/Thorn Dom
    lvl 24 Grav/Ice Dom
[I created the plant dom first, loved his costume so decided to make his older sister and mother. The corr is his sister and I remade her from an Storm/Elec defender to a Sonic/Storm corr to Fire which is why I never got a chance to lvl her up much. The Gravity is the mother. As a family, they are all mystic, being a weather nymph, a dryad boy and an archmage sorceress. The father was an elemental changeling but I deleted him when I figured it'd be a good point in their story to have him dead.]

    lvl 35 Earth/Psy dom
    lvl 42 Elec/Regen Stalker
    lvl 44 DM/WP Stalker
    lvl 16 Arch/Psy Blaster
    lvl 33 Elec/Elec Brute
[The first 4 are members of a mercenary group called the Zoan Crew (because they're all half animals). The Elec Brute is the younger brother of the Elec stalker (and incidentally both are guardians/servants of the Fire/Storm corr above) and often does battle with the members of the ZC because their agenda is at odds with the above corr. They keep their work secret so she doesn't know one of her body guards works against her. The dom is a doe, the Elec's are cats, the DM stalker is a panda and the blaster is a mouse.]

I have NO trouble soloing a Stalker and I understand how to play them (lack of leveling comes from solo boredom more than anything else). I just find they are exceptionally ill equipped to participate in the team dynamic that is CoH. I run ITF's, LGTF's and Hami raids on a fairly regular basis and rarely do I see a Stalker. Those times that a Stalker does join the team I find their contribution less than average (to be kind).
Hmmm, what sets are you using on your stalker?

I guess if you're talking about the big team events, then what are you comparing Stalkers to? MA scrappers? Stone melee brutes? Elec melee? Fire?

Really, stalkers may not be as effective AoE as their melee counterparts, but they have sets that contribute well. I never have trouble with tossing out my team contributions on my Elec/Regen stalker although probably not as much AoE as a Spines scrap or Fire, SS brute. My DM/WP stalker knows he's not good AoE but is devastating for single targets and to compare, a MA, DM scrap or EM, Stone brute isn't going to be putting out much AoE either.

Your suggestion for AS, I don't see it's needed. AS isn't suppose to be used in an attack chain not because it can be interrupted but because it's too slow. You're better off tossing out several faster attacks. To make AS more powerful is just asking the rest of the set to get nerfed. Also, AS already has a chance to double crit. It usually has a chance to occur after using placate.

For placate, making it AoE won't help you on a team. It will simply make foes go running after the squishies and make teams hate stalkers more and more. Placate is a powerful tool and adds much to a stalkers survivability. Not only can a stalker drop a target in seconds flat, they can also make a foe inert for 20 seconds while dealing with other things. That's already good enough.

The only change I'd suggest to stalkers is to always get demoralize effect even if the foe is defeated by AS. Then I wouldn't need to hold back at times.
  16. Has anyone mentioned MA. Seriously, you want strings of missions without travel time, it's been given to you.

Asking to be ported to every mission (or even every other mission) seems to make a farce of the entire game and MMO genre. You play to adventure and *explore*. And it's not as if it's forced exploration, we're given powers that make travel a breeze. Why even have such powers if we're just going to slash the game at the knees?
  17. Quote:
Indeed, its no worse than the bondage-fetish style pieces we do have, or the android pieces (which is a rather disturbing fetish), or the number of people that make naked costumes
Yeah, if we're asking for fetish stuff, can we have female costume pieces for males? The kilts aren't short enough and no bikini options.
  18. Now I feel stupid. Everywhere I turn I see 'free server transfer' this and 'free server transfer' that...No clue why I only notice it once someone *tells* me about it >_>
  19. Quote:
AJ: So, what you're saying is that the game was recently changed so that heroes freely sell powerful items to villains, and villains to heroes. Don't heroes and villains tend to, like, not get along very well? I know its a game and all, but how could both sides be OK with that?
Because the heroes were foolish enough to approve of a mass auction system of powerful items. Why not ask how idiotic it'd be for Batman to try and sell tech through a 3rd party to Blue Beetle and Huntress. It's like asking for the Penguin to come jack his ****.

It's a system and with every system, there is a way to crack or break it. Because the world is run by money and if you pay someone enough, things get swept under the rug (ex: See Crey) so most heroes will not realize their goods are being sold to villains or how many hands their goods have been passed through to get their goods.

    Quote:
AJ: So, essentially every hero and villain in the world will remain unaware of the reality of merged markets, over the long run? Do you have any ESP-types of heroes or villains? Don't some of them have extraordinary senses? How could the kind of large-scale distribution system that would be needed be set up and run in secret? And how could it be that nobody would ever figure out that an item was originally stolen, or originally used by the in-game equivalent of Batman?
Who else could heroes blame but themselves for providing the goods for such a system as distribution of massively destructive equipment? Even if they found out, what could they do but try to shut down their own markets who are probably regulated and controlled by rich and powerful individuals that can keep things from spreading to the media?

And guess who has the money? Villains. Why? BECAUSE WE ROB YOU OF *MONEY* EVERY DAMNED DAY!! It's about time that money actually does something, and paying off middle-men to buy and sell stuff on WW to acquire hard to get goods would be where I'd put my money.

How about you think about it from a villain perspective? What kind of blackmarket has problems obtaining stuff from anywhere, including Paragon City?

That's a rather dumb suggestion: spend extra money until you find what you're looking for.

I'd simply suggest making your own team. You know what your powers can and can't do so you can bring in teammates that will accentuate your abilities. "Oh, you're empathy? Nah, I need a controller or TA defender to keep foes in my traps. Bye." *kick*

I wouldn't suggest kicking people but you get the idea.

Another thing the ability to steal a truck or two fails to explain is how characters on both sides would be able to access *everything* put on sale on either side of the hero/villain divide, on a regular and ongoing basis.
You complained the RP argument for merging them was BS. I simply called BS on your argument because it makes magnitudes more sense than why we have powerset proliferation or color customization.

If you're going to call BS on the RP reasons presented, then give us an RP reason to dispute it.

And if a gang of ninjas and zombies went and raided a shipment of rare salvage from WW, then sold it to a shady vigilante who then goes back to WW and sells it back for higher profit doesn't explain how villain stuff gets on hero markets, I'm not sure you're trying to understand.
