but whatever they do, ill still play cause it's the BEST GAME EVER.
They recently shifted the regular window a few hours earlier, and people are still complaining, so no.

While there may not be more than one Sapper in a group, there's another issue that crops up with Malta on enhanced settings, particularly if solo. I can't remember their exact name, but one of the more common Lts makes regular use of a Taser attack from melee range, and that has a hefty end drain. There may be only one Sapper, but 2 or 3 of those guys hitting you is almost as bad.

I was an avid base raider when they were still active and all items in your base that were destroyed were only destroyed during the raid, as soon as the raid is over everything was back to normal. You dont have to spend prestige to fix things because everything reset after the match ended.
You're misunderstanding. The Base Raids that were active for a while were not true Base Raids. They were Practice Raids. Practice raids had no destruction, however under the system of Holding IoPs and defending them, and having a scheduled window for Open raiding, the destruction was supposed to be permanent.

    1) How specific to people expect a NEW player to be about an AT they know nothing about?

    2) Do "experienced" players REALLY expect a NEW player to know if they need more recharge as opposed to more damage or accuracy or if they need more resist than def?

    3) I doubt the NEW players even have a playstyle to say if they prefer to solo or team, mish or farm, rather play a tank or troller if they haven't played every AT available.

I seen a post by someone with 12 posts and just joined this month ask for a list of powers he should choose or skip for a Fire/Dark Corruptor. Now as exp. players, we know about which powers may be better picked than others. Instead of seeing this is a new player and giving some GENERAL info, he gets replies like the ones above. I mean, really?

That's all. Flame, reply, give your thoughts if ya wanna.

So you're trying to tell me we should read minds? Or spend several paragraphs talking about what I like when that would be meaningless to someone who likes different stuff?

I'm always going to try to get information about what someone likes before I try to tell them what is best for them. If you don't like it, you know where the Report post button is. If the mods don't like it, fine. But until then, you post how you like, and I'll post how I like.
  6. We've been told it's godawful hard for the devs to make custscenes with the tools they have, and it's unlikely there will ever be a way to make a tool for AE arcs to do it.

For my part, I'm glad. Cutscenes in this game are 99.9% of the time intrusive and don't add anything to the story.

God don't remind me. I've been blocking that.

How does it strafe? How does it turn like we do? How does it go into buildings? And if it just goes to 'Legacy Power' then why is my Kung Fu character flying in the air like some magic guy?!

How does combat work? How will this affect load times? How will I zone? How does it enter/exit? What happens if I'm attacked? Can I drink coffee while on my vehicle?

    These are serious questions.
I agree with you, but you missed the biggest issues.

How do vehicles dynamically orient themselves when moving over angles surfaces.

How do they solve the need for realistic acceleration/deceleration? You can kind of handle one with Drift from Flying, but as of now, when you start moving, you're going max speed. That's not particularly immersion breaking for a superpower, but it would become so for vehicles.

(And, being an Energy Blaster who's fed up with people constantly whining about Knockback, I'd want it to increase KB magnitude as well. )
Vanguard Medal doesn't increase Magnitude of effects, just duration. The only click that increases Magnitude is Domination. Overpower for Controllers just gives a potential chance for a Critical.

As for ideas for Inspirations, I like the idea of expanding them and even started a thread on it recently. I don't think Global bonuses are the way to go though, rather specific buffs dropped on specific powers.
  11. I don't feel that Global Recharge Inspires are balanced, and I addressed some solutions for that in this suggestion a couple of weeks ago.

In short, enhancing global recharge through a stackable Inspire would end up being pretty broken. Too many powers would have to be changed so that they couldn't be abused with them.

Just like IO sets with recharge bonuses, these Inspires would instantly become the "best" and no one would want anything else and prices would skyrocket on the market.

I'm not downing your suggestion just because I like mine better. I really feel the Inspiration system needs a boost, but Global Recharge isn't the answer.
  12. WoW uses this extensively and it's something that was introduced after I stopped playing, but it sounds interesting.

I'm not a fan of using it for Contacts, Zones and Missions, but it would be cool to wildly expand Invisibility, Perception, and Phasing powers into something that would be a lot less marginal than they are now.

There are too many powers that are considered useless outside PvP. It would be a lot more fun to have some kind of use for them in PvE. Phasing powers, that unphase phased enemies, a phasing system that keeps you in a phased realm where you can attack phased enemies needed for a mission. A Day Job or Empowerment buff that lets you see clues in open zones, hidden by the phasing tech. Interact with them and they lead to a new kind of Pick Up mission, similar to Scanner/Newspapers (in terms of involvement and length) but with interesting choices and rewards that can lead to unlockable contacts.

There are ways to make it work in this game and revive some aspects that aren't that exciting now. There's no need to directly mirror the WoW system, since their game is technically different and designed to handle it.

Not quite. In order for Base Raiding to work, Bases had to be reworked, because the bugs were extensive. When the PvP changes were made, we were told that they were the first step in a 3 phase program of PvP revamps. Phase 1 was for Arena/Duels. Phase 2 was Bases. Phase 3 was PvP zones. (2 and 3 may be reversed)

They weren't just waiting to make the changes to bring them back, they need to make some heavy tech changes to get a reliably working system.

Considering the reaction to Phase 1, I'm nearly certain Phase 2 and 3 are on hold while they make careful decisions about how they want to proceed.
  14. Whenever I am given a long download, I find that restarting the patcher often fixes the problem for whatever reason.

That's only one reason. Photon gave another. The main one though is there are a lot of holes in different spots in the structure of PD, and to prevent a lot of issues with people getting stuck or being stuck, it was decided to lock down the power instead of spending a lot more time tweaking the map.

  17. Who decided it needs to be changed? Intelligent people can tell the difference between discrimination and expedience. Others get bogged down in minutiae instead of dealing with real issues.

How is it important? I'd consider it far more rude to be asked if I were male or female than I would for someone to get it wrong inadvertently. If someone makes a mistake, then I politely correct them, and we move on. Getting on someone's case for the vagaries of language that are beyond their control, or an honest mistake? That's bad etiquette, not assuming most players are male unless being told otherwise.

Slippery Slope argument? Really? Weak point is weak.

It's the 21st century. Women are more respected and equal than at any other time in history, and it's because the true movers and shakers on the equality front DON'T get bogged down in semantics. Hate speech and discriminatory speech and policies are clear and obvious, and should be stopped. Using words in a commonly accepted way in a discussion that has nothing to do with the topic of sexual equality should be accepted for what they are.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. Sam's just using the language we have. Unless you can come up with something better and get it approved by society at large, all you're doing by pointing it out is weakening your stance.

It's a game forum and we're talking about the game and how to respect people in it. Stop trying to disrespect someone for something they're clearly not doing. It demeans you.
  20. More on point for the thread:

I try to work on two guidelines (not rules) when I team. When someone else is in charge, I try to follow their lead and support with suggestions. When I'm in charge, I try to make it clear what my expectations are, so my teammates don't have to guess about whether I want glowies, etc.

I highly doubt flypose emotes have even been made for the model. It would be like a lot of emotes you might try with a Shield out, just wouldn't work.
