You get to start any AT as a Praetorian and play it as Heroic or Villainous as you like, and then make a final choice when you reach the end of the new starting areas.
That work for you? -
Just to confirm, when on Trial, the AE is indeed locked.

Just to clarify, updating your ticket does not mean submitting a new one each time. Each one is treated separately that way. Best to submit your first ticket ingame, then connect to the game's Support website, find your open tickets, and deal with any and all responses or updates through that.

Quote:I'm sure if they could have put the finale near the dam, they would have. However remember that it was a 10-15 TF and back then the dam was at the back end of a 20+ old school hazard zone.I'd like to see some or most of this functionality added to the supergroup mission computer as well. Just to give us a reason to have it beyond "it looks cool" =D
But yeah, i've heard people -griping- about Posi being replaced. Which is weird, because i think as it stands it's horrible and needs work. "Hey, 17 defeat-alls with no coherent story, except you need to save the dam by being NOWHERE NEAR IT. Have fun!" Heck, they even had to add an EB at the end to convince you that yes, it IS the final mission. Whatever they give us will almost assuredly be better.
Anyway, best of both worlds is to make sure both versions of the TF are available =) -
Quote:Rip Off Artist. When I read the subject line, my first thought was squirrel tails. I laughed a bit.
And then I suddenly came up with the idea for a hyperkinetic kung fu squirrel kid, and now I really want to make the character. PLEEEEASE can we have squirrel tails? -
Quote:Standard Code Rant applies. It's just annoying, it doesn't seem like something that would be that hard to get to work correctly.
Tracking timers across the account or across characters is one of the things this game has had a harder time doing than a lot of other things. Especially considering in this case it's more than purely a character database issue, it has a lot to do with the interface to the billing system, which is completely separate from the machine that runs the game. -
Just because we're getting animated tails, doesn't mean we'll lose legacy tails. I'm certain they learned their lesson from trying to change hairstyles over the years, that no matter how bad the original may be, and how improved the newer ones may be, there will be SOMEONE(s) who would die rather than change.
Bushy tails are great, and quite likely (though my two dogs would like to dispute your claim that more tails are bushy and not narrow).
However I was just thinking about it before I saw your thread, and there are actually two other kinds of tail I'd like to see as well:
Robotic tails. In the spirit of Scorpion (or even Doc Oc) there's a lot of characters with robotic limbs. Would be sad if all the new tails are TOO natural seeming.
Fake Tails. The tails we have would qualify as Fake quite easily when compared to animated mobile tails, however what I'm hoping for is a tail that hangs straight down, like capes, and possibly even drags on the ground. -
Short List of things I'd like to see added to Ouroboros Crystals:
Any TF that gets significantly revamped or removed.
The old Paragon Dance Party
The old Faultline zone
The old Rikti War zone
There doesn't need to be content (though special Flashback missions would be cool) and there could be a time limit on visiting open ended maps, but it would be cool to be able to go.
I would add outlevelled Mayhem/Safeguard missions to the list, however I have a better idea for that that I have been kicking around in my head and will post another time. -
Quote:This may just be a message board and not an English Class, but that doesn't change the fact that following the rules of english and formatting helps people understand what you're trying to say. It shows you're putting thought into what you're trying to say, instead of just typing a bunch of stuff randomly.I am sorry. I know you meant to help. I have had problems comming on this site and having people ignore my point and give me a difficult time about you did a typo on this word, and pointing out everything but the point to my thread so if I was sensetive about your fixing my layout. I am sorry. That is why I am defensive. I read most of the stuff that was said and I know you agree with me, but I wanted to come in and check to see if anyone replied to me and I all I saw was my reply being fixed. I try to post good things and get annoyed when it all turns into an english class. LOL

Quote:It never even occurred to me to go to another tailor. I just went to Steel Canyon without thinking, even though the guy was level 1. Didn't die at all on the way.Quote:Then it's probably fair to say that those who read and post here are probably not "most."
Of course it's not usually that difficult to get a teleport to the tailor, but i'm pretty confident i could do it even though i usually went through Kings Row and IP to use the tailor at level one before they opened the Vanguard base to all levels. -
Since they specifically said pre-ordering GR will give early access to the new sets when I17 hits, I feel that means you have to own GR to get access. Kind of like you needed CoV to get access to certain sets before they were proliferated.

Quote:Stuff your blanket statement or your original post doesn't cover:But then going to level 60 will take me much longer to get there!
What are players DOING in this much longer stretch of time? What sorts of missions are going to be interesting?
How do you counter the main reason we've been given that 50+ won't happen- that not everyone has a 50, and in order to make 10 extra levels ESPECIALLY levels that take longer, they'd essentially be making content they knew not everyone would see.
How can that be justified when they've told us that instead they're focusing on content and systems that work for characters of almost all levels, and thus are fun and interesting for all players?
You have given no compelling reason that they should make things that de facto exclude a large segment of the players, and how that would actually attract people.
We've been told we're getting things that will make characters of all levels more fun to play. Why don't you think that's enough? -
Quote:I have no idea when you did your trial, but based on my experience, I really have no idea what you were doing with your time. I hit the level 20 cap in about 5 hours. No tricks, no add-ons, no help, just quests.i 4th the BS call now that sol beat me to thirding it. i tried WoW and found that after the 10 day trial i still had not hit the level cap for trials. adn i was on vacation the whole time and played up to 6 hrs a day. now , i know i didn't have access to all the neat little tricks and stuff, but it takes less time to reach 50 in CoX then it does in WoW. and that is with no exploits at all. and no power leveling.

Quote:A) this is not Player Rhetorical QuestionsI'm sorry but does any other EU player think that we are drawing the short straw yet again!?!?
with this going rouge expansion pack we can't buy a boxed copy from retail stores, meaning that there isnt going to be a new player base signing up to play the game. Don't get me wrong i love the game and have for years, but everone has noticed the declining player base from our servers, we either need some serious advertising EU side or i hate to start another one of these threads but a server merge. i do see GR bringing back a few old players but for how long im not so sure, when the shiney things start to go dusty they will leave again. we need fresh players or the choice to go join our friends overseas with a nifty server merge!!!!! dont let the EU servers die!
B) just because they announced the North American sales options for GR doesn't mean there will be no EU products or campaign. -
Dev's Choice and Guest Author have a choice, but I don't think Hall of Fame does, or ever did. If many people told you, then many people were mistaken.

Quote:Then PM Castle, point out the numbers, and ask your questions. I pointed out a difference between Defender and Mastermind Shadowfall once, and it was fixed within weeks (I had good timing on the patches).Sorry, I don't buy it.
The Blaster can still use that attack with defiance, and scourge is way too iffy to be reliable.
Sometimes things slip through the cracks, and you may very well be correct. Just remember not to treat it as a confrontation and an argument, because after all, he's the expert. -
Quote:Short answer is, yes.Not sure if there is any other spots in the game where there is a picture like this other than the Hospitals?
There are tons of places our dev team (past and present) are referenced in image, name, or character.
Some examples:
Movie Posters- most of the names of stars and creators on the movie posters are Cryptic devs or their friends. Some of the pics on movie posters are clipped and processed images of the devs.
Detectives- Matt Miller and Sean Fish are the name and visual references for the detectives in Brickstown. Their names also mean they fit in the other gomage for detectives; famous movie/tv police. (Miller and Fish from Barney Miller Show)
Secret Lounge- devs show up in the lounge in Faultline. -
Quote:Because not all TFs/SFs are alike. We learned this back when things did indeed give a recipe regardless. People could run 8-10 Katies in the time it took to do a Positron, and this skewed things so it became nearly impossible to get a team to do any but the shortest fastest TFs. It got to the point where it could be considered aberrant playstyle, very similar to the initial problems with the AE system and farming. Why don't they allow you to choose between reward rolls and recipes on regular tfs/sfs?
Things were changed to Merits for two main reasons:
A) the reward is based on average time to complete, and thus in most cases that means it doesn't matter which TF you do. The variety of TFs completed has consistently been greater since then.
B) Instead of being forced to pick a random roll, now people can choose to save Merits for specific recipes, or take random rolls. It means an added step (getting Merits, then going to spend the Merits on random rolls) but for most people its a vast improvement to be given that choice. -

Quote:Sure, let's say this even though we know it's been in the works much longer than that, and we know the how's and why's of the buyout, expansion, and development schedule.Issue 17: So, Champions Online had a Nemesis system and higher end graphics...
I expect this kind of crack from certain wanks, but not you Marcian. -
Quote:So? There was no question in your original post. Doesn't belong here. There's been no change in the "no ranting" rule that I know of. Doesn't belong in these forums.Look, the only reason I started this thread is as follows. I was playing a Level 4 character in Galaxy City, walking a few blocks to a mission that was in a Green-Colored Area on the map, when the character was hit with Speed Boost while I was still moving, and I not only overran the Mission Door, I accidentally ended up in the middle of 3 Red Name Hellions! INSTANT DEATH! Thats why I hate Drive-By Buffing!
It's a bummer that you died, but know what? You were level 4. No debt. You lost some time. You have spent far more time typing out your misplaced rage here than you lost in the first place. Balance the equation and get back to playing. -
Quote:True Story, it saved mine, twice. Once a drive by while I was running away pre travel powers, another time the added recharge cycled my self heal just enough quicker to get me through a fight alive. It's a perfectly valid reason to expect people to ask before granting that particular buff, at least. SB has never saved anyone's life.
You're smarter than this, no need to say something so obviously brain dead. -
Quote:The simple fact that most of the time you receive thanks instead of someone who flips out, or said buffee gleefully dives off into the next group(s) more quickly than they had been before, means it's a fairly safe assumption that more often than not, people appreciate buffs or at the least are neutral.Question for those who are claiming that "99%" of players appreciate your drive by buffs:
What are you basing that off of? All the "thank yous" you get? really?
What about all the times you received nothing but silence?
PS
To the person who negged me saying that it takes "skill" to drive by buff; Thanks! I needed a good laugh.
It's not really about how you feel about buffs though, it's what you choose to do about it. Going on your way or heading into an instance to solo are reasonable. Making a stink, especially to the point of posting in the forums claiming there's a secret cabal of buff hating players that keep a list and will seek revenge (see "enemies") is not in any way reasonable. -
Someone who insists on being solo in an open world is just going to have to make allowances for the fact that there are other people out there. You may not like it, but there are other people out there, and sometimes they want to help without taking that extra step of finding out your mood and inclination.
Want to solo? Play in an instance.
