    Broken Graphics.

ANYWAY. POINT IS. I came back with Windows7 installed, insted of Vista. And now.. My graphics seem to be going wonky.
Like; Trees are freakishly bright, and the colour on anyone's outfit keeps flipping colours around like it's disco night.

Alot of my options won't even allow me to change them anymore, in the Advanced options, and if I use the slider bar for how good everything is, the whole zone just becomes totally white on my screen.

It's not a graphics card issue, as I've handled the game at max settings during Vista. Only difference now is Windows7.

Is this an issue for anyone else, and is there anyway I can fix this?

Any help would be super pro, and you'll be awarded one(1) super cool point.
It may not be an issue with your card, but have you checked to make sure your Drivers are up to date? That's the most likely culprit to me.

    It's me isn't it?
  3. So they can't just say they're starting it, they have announce each stage to you? Please.

Those offering suggestions need critics to point out all the flaws so they can fix them.
Good suggestions don't get talked about when everyone is busy shredding bad ones for the umpteenth time. Trust me, part of the problem is people are too hyped to disagree, because intellectually it's easier to argue against than it is to improve when you already agree. This is the biggest reason S&I is considered broken. The 97th argument about server consolidation will get 150 responses, while several good ideas will sink out of sight with nothing but a few token agreements.

People need to get better at taking some time to agree and explain why they agree as opposed to looking for things that bug them.

Let the people who actually want to follow the GR story line play the GR story. Don't force people to play through missions they don't care about just to get a certain AT over to the otherside.
If you don't care about the story, why does it matter where you do your missions? You can't have it both ways when you're trying to justify what you want. Either it's super important for you to be a brute hero, or you couldn't care less about the kind of missions you're doing. Make up your mind.

Why is there a problem with that?
Because the devs have decided that to justify having the Heroic or Villainous types of archetype in the opposing area comes at a price. The price of going through some story hoops.

I believe that switching sides in GR should be about the story...the story of how you changed your morals...the story of how you changed from a villain into a hero or hero into a villain.

I do NOT believe that switching sides in GR should just be about getting a villain AT to hero side or a hero AT to villain side...which, apparently, is what you think GR is all about.
But GR is also about starting at neutral and making a choice. That's why you can pick any AT when you start in Praetoria. Thus your idea would negate one of the points of GR.

Weren't you the poster who asked about this last week, and when the facts were explained to you, you got hung up on the fact that you'd be on an alternate world? You need to get over that.

Just pretend you're in Paragon making your choices when you're in Praetoria, or just another city on our world. Then when you make the final choice you're teleported to another city.

    Ghost town?

I 17 closed beta started the same day as Pistols became available, not to mention it is the middle of the week.

Additionally a lot of people take new characters straight to RWZ and group up in the AE since the level barrier was removed.

PinnBadges is still in use. You just hit upon a quiet night I think. Night before was buzzing.

I've swapped PMs with BAB in the past regarding this power set and the problems it causes. If they're not going to offer a min. FX option, then it needs to be fixed. There is not one other power set or combo of power sets in this game that eats up that much graphics processing as Energy Aura.
I have an EA brute, and have never really noticed the troubles you mention. Thermal effects however kill my performance under nearly all circumstances. You ought to be more careful in your absolute statements.

As for the devs saying they'll "never" do things: You're exaggerating. In my experience they don't do that. They say they haven't considered it before, will consider it in the future, etc. but they almost never say they won't do something. I especially don't recall them being that specific about King's Row or the Hollows.
  11. So they announced Closed Beta was starting Tuesday, and you're saying they need to confirm that it did in fact start? Yeesh.

As I said above, if you're in, you will be able to see the forum sections. Such has it been for every closed beta I've been involved in except for a minor glitch on the first one.

A lot of what you're getting is replacements for things we have now. There's a serious amount of texture overlap and replacement coming, not outright new additions.
  14. True, but you don't get the two costume sets specifically mentioned in the special edition version. That's where the misunderstanding lays here.

Everyone who is in beta, has access to the beta forums. If you can't see them, you're not in.
  16. I'm sure those who are in beta appreciate you downloading the patch even though you're not in, and slowing things down for everyone who could have been testing.
  17. It was in this section, Player Help, not Development. And the developers themselves had nothing to do with the decision, it was the community team, so I don't think the devs were trying to say anything.

So, now that Ultra Mode is now *seperate?* from Going Rogue, we can't get access to it, even if we qualify for Going Rogue beta?
They also at the same conference explicitly said they'd do their best to get Ultra Mode and some other things out in a small publish before GR. If you're going to try to base your nerdrage on specific details, at least try and account for all the details.

Otherwise the faulty logic lays with you, not the devs.

It had been getting worse over time, and when concerned mods and players tried to get together to improve things (through an open process with player feedback), a bunch of people made it clear that they liked it the way it was, even if it meant less good ideas in front of the dev's eyes. So Ex Libris and Lighthouse decided it belonged in For Fun! instead of another section.

It's always been a bit of a free for all, but the tendency to disagree for the sake of disagreement has grown over time. There's a reason it went from the section I posted in the most to the section I almost never go to now.
  21. Dude, you're the guy who didn't even know where to find the Suggestions and Ideas forum. I wouldn't get too uptight about how awesome you are and why you're not in beta. ESPECIALLY if you're not in beta and you downloaded the patch, since all that accomplishes is slowing things down for people who are in beta.

If the community hadn't decided they were more interested in treating it like forum PvP instead of coming up with a system so that good ideas got better, then it may have been. However when we tried people just really wanted a place to B.M.W. and that's what they got.

The devs do look at it though, never fear. However until people start making a widespread effort to promote good ideas more than argue over bad ones, the section is gonna stay where it is.

Currently, you need to find a trusted individual, and arrange a trade. They hold your Inf then you pass it to the alt.

In a couple months, Issue 17 will revamp our mail system, and you will be able to mail inf and items to characters on the same side.

Sure it is. Under normal curcumstances, the intent was for you to be playing these missions while you still had the Arachnos Disguise. That makes navigating the tunnels easy.

Problem is, a lot of people tend to stop after that prior mission, so the disguise is gone when they come to play again (real time timer not play time).
