well, I've gotten salvage from one, and I could have sworn I remembered someone else in one of my hunts mentioning a recipe, but you may be correct. I think you're confusing the guaranteed drop with the random chance drop. I know GMs don't have a guaranteed drop like AVs, to prevent farming, however I don't think their random drop is nerfed.

So, the sexacta is indeed possible. I wonder if Ambrosia insps work the same way? (And if base and invention salvage drop separately, then we'll be looking for the sepfecta).

    [/ QUOTE ]

For the THIRD TIME: Base and Invention are already separate, and already part of the Quinfecta! Take a closer look at the original screenie.

*sigh* you guys shouldn't try to post so fast, I'm waaaaayyyyy ahead of y'all

ummm Zombie, the 5 drop includes Base Salvage already. The only thing that can 6 drop is a DE monster.

    Base Salvage
    Invention Salvage
    Recipe
    Enhancer
    Inspiration

bah quinfecta is stale, I'm shooting for killing a DE monster and getting 6 drops.
  6. Something I've been meaning to mention. I posted it when we had closed forums, but it's something that doesn't come up a lot.

Inside the Goo is actually a low-G field... kinda. It means someone leaping can hit mitos higher than normal. I went to look in the closed forums for the exact posts, because dammit all I forgot who told me again (MrNotSoFurious is his character.... I remember that much!).

It's just something that can come in handy if a team doesn't have any jump boosts or GFly. Though being stationary next to a mito is ideal.

I've been reading and made it to one raid so far, so I accept that what I say is not definitive, but here goes.

Mito clearing is designed so that everyone has a role, but the problem is that the roles have to be done in sequence. First the meleers have to get organized and take down the yellows, in several coordinated processes. Buffers have a role of "stand there and buff" but if you're not a meleer and you don't have buffs, get out of the way. Unless the meleers are exceptionally skilled, that's going to be a lot of waiting.

The blues make the meleers useless, but they go down in short order, so that's not bad. Greens also go down fast, and here everyone gets to be involved. The problem is the yellow phase that takes the longest and has many people sitting around with their fingers up their rears.

Then we get to hami. And it's three spawns. That are completely unavoidable, and so far appears to be no way to make happen without wiping most of the raiding part in the process. And, IMHO, that is what is going to kill hami raiding. Beyond the fact that I wonder how many people will enjoy knowing "OK, here's the part where everybody dies again", but it's three more mito phases with getting everyone organized AGAIN and getting the yellow mitos cleared AGAIN while the non-meleers wait.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I totally agree, but I feel that eventually when organization and education levels rise, this will entirely change. It's a matter of changing experimentation into process. We're still in the nebulous stages right now where we're trying to figure out just how many people we need where to get any given job done. Once we have a solid picture, and 5-6 trained people to lead the different teams, then 2 Yellow clearing teams can get their buffs in a few moments, launch, and take out their targets in turnwise fashion. Once the buff teams know where to go for taging areas, who to buff quickly, and what buffs work best, then it won't take so long to set up. Once we have a leader to run Rangers, a little skill and chutzpah will let them get into the fray much sooner. If Yellow clearing teams are taking mitos on a regular basis, then after the first strike, a hole will be opened and the Rangers can move in since the turnaround on the Meleers will keep the Yellows occupied.

Tonight at Marut's hero raid. We were reasonably close to taking out 4 Yellows with 2 teams in a single launch. We tripped up because one Transit Officer was new. Not his fault, just a matter of practice. He was fine on the second launch. However I don't doubt the feat can be duplicated. It simply takes practice.

Downtime is a problem. However when Yellow clearing by skilled leads and transit officers only takes 10minutes, then there's very little to worry about in that regard.
  8. The reason it hasn't been taken out is it's a holiday weekend. I'll lay stakes it's gone sometime Monday. And if you really think that Wayne's World psychobabble is a clear statement of what you're trying to say, you need a bit of help.
  9. Repeating it doesn't make you more right or more true. You've stated your opinion, I've stated mine. No need to keep parroting yourself, just post when you have something substantive to say.
  10. If that's your point, and you're not seeking to solve the problems you had in your SG, then I disagree.

GMs should not have the power to act more quickly. Haste leads to mistakes. I do not want bottom level GMs with potentially limited experience with this game and it's community to be taking quick action on things which are ultimately an interpersonal conflict issue.

This kind of thing has to be investigated, and investigation takes time. It takes someone familiar with the system, and it takes players with an ounce of patience.

However it's clear you're not that kind of person, considering your willingness to break rules and short circuit the process in a misguided attempt to solve a problem that only existed because of mistakes made inside your organization.

Is it a shame? yup. Does that mean GMs should have the ability to fast track punishment? no. Because they don't know you, just like I don't know you. You could be lying out of your posterior about what happened, just because someone you don't like is in charge. That is the kind of thing that needs to be looked at carefully.
  11. A) you're still in the wrong forum
    B) you're still breaking forum rules regarding ingame rules violations.

Whether or not it was you posting or just getting people from your SG to repost over and over, it doesn't really matter. This is not how an issue like this is ever handled successfully.

Read the forum guidelines. All of them. Twice. If you have a problem with the way an ingame issue was handled by the GM staff, then you refile, or keep adding to the same petition. Ask for a supervisor if you need to. In the extreme that you're still not satisfied, then send a polite Forum Private message to Lighthouse or Ex Libris, to see if they can assist you.

However never ever stunt post, because there is no way this will help your situation, or the situation of anyone with a similar problem. This is not a democracy, nor are we a proletariat class that can affect changes by rabble rousing.

This is not the way. That is the bottom line.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Bottem line is they don't act fast or can't do anything. You talk about cost of being able to do that stuff. Still cheaper then someone takeing them to court.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually the bottom line is caveat administrator, to use the Latin. Let the leader beware. You're laying something that is clearly your mistake on them for redress, when there's nothing they should be doing in that case.

You have a point when it comes to personal info. that's a clear CoC violation. However the other things? No. Also you're just as much of a violator for your stunt with the multiple accounts at the beginning of the thread.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Show me where it says that you can't give personal info out in-game? Show me where it says the Cryptic or NCSoft is responsible for what the players do in-game? Show me where you, or any other player, was coerced to give out RL info in-game, and how it was NCSoft & Cryptic's fault.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From the Code of Conduct which applies both here and ingame:

    2. You may not post or communicate any player's real world information (name, address, account name, etc.) through the City of Heroes game or on the official City of Heroes website.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Look, I understand this person who started the thread is confused and doesn't really have a clue, but BioStem, at least be clear on what the rules are before you harsh them about which rules have and havent been broken.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Yes. In fact, prior to Yellow dives, I requested oil slick on my kin to provide a +100% base damage boost (FS ranged buff+FS PBAOE buff+Siph power) to yellow team.

    [/ QUOTE ]

THAT's what you were doing?! Sheesh I thought someone was just messing around with the pretty effects or something. I was so busy prepping I couldn't figure it out and make the connection.

Sheesh, we may use that tomorrow night, if the right players are present.

lol. Guess they weren't kidding about wanting to make more powersets useful in the new hami. They better not nerf this, that's freakin genius.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Honestly, I burst out laughing when I heard about it. Makes perfect sense in the 'how' it works. Brilliant thinking, guys.

Is it what we intended the power to be used for? Not even close...but it's a great idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Priceless.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
One more question though, is the mag of just one Dispersion high enough? From reading earlier posts, it sounds like you would need some stacking of mez protection for it to be effective.

[/ QUOTE ] No one person is going to stand up to anything Hamidon does without assistance. So you're correct a single bubble probably won't be enough. However your bubble coupled with another? Much better. Or other AoE mezz protections.

There's always something a player can bring to the table. It may not feel like a lot, but there is. Bubbling up the entire Ranged attack force as they head in to take out Blues is no small contribution, even if it doesn't sound as cool as the Melee fighter job of getting a ton of buffs stacked on you and Team TPing in to kill a yellow mito in under 60 seconds. They both end up contributing just as much to the overall success of the raid.
  17. PS if there are specific things you find unfun, then by all means post them in the official thread, but I recommend waiting until you've at least tried it.
  18. 8 or more. It's been a strangeness that we haven't fully accounted for yet. Sometimes it takes more, a lot more.

I'm not sure where "unfun" comes from. I had a lot of fun each time I've done this. It's not easy by any means, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily unfun.
  19. hehe there was a thread about this in the closed section. he posted at one point saying "you guys know this is a bug right?" and somewhat suspiciously it disappeared 4minutes later.

So, I can kinda picture him turning to Castle and saying "it IS a bug, isn't it?" and Castle saying "well technically no, it's just the only way I could get the power to work right"

PS- sorry if I wasn't supposed to mention that Castle and BAB. you know I love you guys, it's just worth a little chuckle.
  20. high end (50+) is almost never casual friendly, just by it's very nature. At least in the early stages. Trying to build it so it is, just means designing for the lowest common denominator and ending up with inferior content. Better to build it tough, and let the player community improve iteself so that more and more people can do it more easily.

It's my understanding that's the way the old Hamidon Raid began, and it's not so terribly wrong if the new one begins the same way. Almost every big chunk of content of this nature that I've seen added to any game, always begins as something for the most dedicated, and as time goes on and knowledge expands, it becomes more readily available. More than likely because of the hard work of those initially players.

I was disappointed when community tendencies made the LRSF more and more insular instead of more and more egalitarian, even though it's been shown time and again that wasn't nexessary. I've strong hopes that this time, the things we've learned will create a different social inertia. One that trends toward more and more people involved.
  21. Also need to note that we're operating from the extremes, and there's always the likelihood things will be cranked down some more before it goes Live. We went into our first two attempts knowing we wouldnt be able to significantly dent Hami. But we did it anyway so they'd have data to crunch.

Just like the salvage carry capacity and the table recipe prices, we're working downward toward the right spot, instead of starting too generous and then trying to make things harder.

I think the Closed Beta Raiders did an awesome job, but not perfect. I say please learn from us, but do your damnedest to improve on what we did, because I know everyone can.
  22. I'm all in favor of letting people see what we did and let them decide whether they want to cover the same ground again.

I'll be the first to admit there's a ton of room for improvement in what we did. There's also the chance that someone will see things we missed.

However it would save a lot of time for those interested, and save those of us that contributed some time in reiterating a lot of those points when the questions get asked again.
  23. I thought someone told me they were now visible.
  24. Remember, that person was going in alone. You can check out both or Maruts Strat threads, as well as the Hamidon Tactical center for a lot of details on how we did things.

However a single team buffed can get in with little difficulty, because the effects are distributed.

A single person trying to soak everything for multiple rounds of attacks will get overcome due to stacking. A full team even tightly clustered will, with adequate buffs, have no troubles.
