Waaah... I get free(someone will probably say it's not free since we pay on a monthly basis) stuff and I want to complain! *rolls on the ground crying*
Honestly... Anyone need a diaper change?
Maybe an icecream to make you forget that bruised knee? A nap perhaps? *pinches babycheek*

I agree, not with such a firm sentiment, but I do agree.
I tend not to complain if the icing on the slice of birthday cake I've been given is blue not white - it's nice compensation for the gift I've bought, as I wasn't even after some cake. -
I agree with all the comment that have said flag it if you're in any doubt.
Having said that I've seen some close to the mark names in the past, laughed my [censored, but means cute little behind] off, and never given a thought to flagging them.
I'd find the name Purple Cobra very funny, and I perfectly understand that Mary Whitehouse might find it highly offensive, but it's down to her to report it, not me. -
Yep. Been here for a while and as the recent review said, it's a game for casual players, so it suits me down to the ground.
I don't really know people in the community because I never put enough time aside to play the game or chat, but both the players and the dev's seem very sensible about things and it's always had the feel of the old BBSs - which to me means good fun with a tongue in one's cheek and some sensible input when it's needed.
I'm not saying I won't leave for something else in the future (probably science fiction in nature), but I can't foresee it happening for a year or so yet.
Keep up the excellent work, dev's, mod's and players. -
I agree with the "more Dev' posting" question, although if the EU doesn't generate enough cash to make it worth while then I'd be happy to know that as well. (Although I'm a capitalist and I'm not sure others would be as understanding.
)
Also agree with some of Dr Toerag's questions.
Could we also know if the trend to hint at future additions and publish such things as calenders will be continued. These are the sorts of things that make us happy. Could we be told of something in the next issue rather than having to wait until it hits the Training Room? (I appreciate that this isn't possible for some things as changes happen, but a rough idea, or just "next issue will have something in it for SG bases" would be good if couched appropriately and keeps the trolls fed.) -
I have as much ability to draw as a chinchilla with a pencil in its mouth so I cant comment on the style etc. but I can say that I do like this picture. Keep up the good work.

I love these two. Its great when on Skype and two of us get the conflicting messages. The cries of Its a Nemesis plot! and Oh, no, it isnt! always ring out. Im sure we will get tired of it, but not yet. -

- Shadow Shard

Speaking of the Shadow Shard, a friend and I stumbled on the entrance last night, (yep, we didnt even know how to get there before this.) and we really loved it. A whole set of different monsters to fight, a few hours spent playing with the portals and the grav geysers, and some new stories to read.
Im very glad we found it. -
Ha! Good point. I never read the topic properly and thought it was the voting.
Now I feel silly. -
Not an easy choice this month, but Id have to go for Wish you were here... Not just because it looks good, but because it looks gooood.

Cryonic is right, Ive been dragged in and now done some more work.
And by way of proof about things working better in smaller rooms, we sectioned off bits of the large room and it all works a lot better now. We now have a bar and podium (although were not sure why we have a podium, it just seemed right to put it there).
More pictures attached.

I popped in to the mission to see if I could help SingStar and Ive got to say those bad guys were that loved up they were overly friendly. Either that or they REALLY liked you.
Sorted in the end, though. -
I think this may be due to no fight actually happening.
Ive been on to check this, so I could be wrong, but do you know if a fight is taking place or are you just looking at the generic list of types of fight available? -

For my Sonic/Sonic Defender, or maybe just to represent how I feel when Im playing her:

There seems to be more - the Daily Mail competition for example?

Yes, I was thinking of this and various other things that are happening to raise the games profile in the EU.
I tend to agree that sometimes the game seems empty and other times full, and there are lots of things that affect that (both my perception and the reality).
Im just always disappointed (but not surprised) that people dont offer up suggestions for bringing more people in to the game, rather than just merging the servers. We could point out the best sites to advertise on (i.e. those we, as gamers, check most often for news), new initiatives or events that would attract attention or even other areas of the media that could be used to get more people playing or previous players coming back. -
The EU side could be losing money and there could be a number of reasons it's not been merged. For example NC could be happy with the US part of the game subsidising the EU part as they think they'd lose more by merging than they would by keeping the servers open.
But, as ever when this questions crops up, why doesn't someone suggest something proactive that can be done to increase the server populations? There are only a few people that ever take this approach.
More EU centric advertising, for example? -
The only one that springs to mind at the moment is I'm Sexy, I'm Cute for Miss Atom. Her bio' is noted below so you can understand the reason.
Amber George - supermodel, aspiring actress and vocalist on the international number one tune "Love Beyond Love" - was walking to her local organic health food shop when a man stepped out of a portal that had appeared in front of her and said, "There. Now you have fabulous powers." From that day on Amber has masqueraded as Miss Atom, fighting crime in between Hollywood parties and hair and makeup. She also does some charity work. -
I was really looking forward to the getting the extra prestige, and although it did allow us to have a second, bigger, workshop and therefore more storage, all it really gave us was a large meeting room that Ive then failed to decorate well.
I think if wed had a villain base where we needed less teleporters we never have had a base this big. -
Im in much the same boat as Max and Iron Inferno, its probably easier to say what I have done that what I havent.
Done
One Blaster to level 50.
One Scrapper almost to level 50.
Still To Do
- All the TFs and SFs
- Shadow Shard
- Go badge hunting (the only ones I have are those Ive got in passing).
- Play the other four heroes I created when I first started the game.
- All of CoV
- Valentine, Halloween and Christmas events (I did love the ski slope though).
- Any of the GMs.
Im three years in now and still looking forward to doing most of these, but at this rate I need the game to still exist in 20 years time. -
Having spent some time looking at the pictures of everyones bases I decided to do a bit more work on ours and try to make it look more interesting. (The layout is still as Ive previously posted.)
Entrance overview and entrance at eyelevel.
Medbay.
Meeting room overview, meeting table, and reading room.
Many thanks to all those who Ive nicked ideas from, and heres hoping i13 has some base loving. (And if not Ill have to try again with the magic desk.)

I love the University / Library. I was amazed how well you got the posters to sit in the wall texture!

I agree, this looks excellent, but the one for me is the medbay - the wood look is brilliant. -

Since I12's added QoL features I've moved several things around because now we can load custom window/chat settings, so it's much easier/faster to set-up new characters with non-default settings. This is pretty much my set-up for all my characters (albeit with the pet window higher up the right hand side on my MMs): linky (the gap between NavBar and Map is usually where HeroStats goes, but I don't use it on ITF cos I find it adds extra lag).
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice layout I must get a bigger screen.
As a few people have mentioned binds and macros, and because I dont see the point in starting another thread, I thought Id mention my favourite binds, the ones I have on most of my characters. Im not putting the code here as most binds can be found in the player guide section.
F1-F7 bound to the different types of inspiration. i.e. F4 will always trigger a blue of any of the three sizes, while F5 will trigger heals.
Flight/Hover or Super Jump/Combat Jumping one key press that will swap between two of the movement powers.
Repeat button press for toggle on powers. Ideal for those characters that have a lot powers that need turning on after a hold etc. Im lazy so this means I can just keep pressing one button until nothing else turns on.
A Shift version of the above to kill all the toggles.
Left and right cursor keys to swap between the main chat channels.
Like some others I take off all the key binds for the map and stuff so they dont get pressed accidentally. On a couple of characters I also have some extra binds to trigger powers or swap between team mates, but those noted above are the ones I use on most characters. -
I was wondering, in an idle moment, what control set-ups people use. i.e. Do you invert the mouse, do you use cursor keys for direction, which fingers sit where when pressing powers.
This might be as boring as heck for everyone else, but I thought I'd ask.
As a starter for ten here are mine:
Notes: I use the macros that allow the F keys (F1 to F7) to trigger specific inspirations regardless of where they are stored. Shift+F7 is bound for the Ready! emote. F8 onwards are default.
Handed: Right.
Mouse: Inverted.
Right Hand: Mouse - Right button hold for direction; Left button for select and auto run; additional buttons for power binds.
Left Hand: Forefinger - buttons 4,5 and 6 for powers, T and R for binds; Middle finger - button 3 for powers, W for walk backwards; Ring finger - buttons 2 and 1 for powers; Thumb - space bar for jump, V and B for binds; Little finger - tab for nearest enemy select, left ctrl+tab for next enemy select, Q for binds; Side of palm - left ctrl key.
