... man, now I want to make one of these.
I'll save it for Issue 16. -
I don't have any burning (haha) need for Blaze Mastery, but it is seriously good to see the devs still have improving APP options on their minds. More please!

Quote:According to the page, you have todo you have to sign up for a couple specific months, or just have an account open during a specific time. My account is paid for until december, does that mean i get the badge and into tier two?
Quote:maintain an active account for the time period beginning August 15, 2009 and ending November 15, 2009 -
The loyalty program will be starting in two days so if you want to get into the GR beta, nows the time to double check your sub is set up right, especially if it's not recurring!

Quote:Ironic that you should use that phrase. :PPlease excuse me for this question but, I see this term alot and still don't know what it means, can someone please tell me what "PUG" stands for? I feel I should and probally already know,, but my brain just isn't picking it up.
It is a Pick Up Group - a group made of random unconnected people. -
Does anyone else ever find their interest in the game waning when a new issue is announced?
When I play these days, I find I'm thinking a lot about whats upcoming, and it actually puts me off playing the current build, because I want to "save" my characters for the new build, in a weird way. And then when it hits Open beta and I get to test the next issue, I won't be able to go back to live because I miss all the neat new stuff that I saw on Test.
It always seems like I end up taking a break from the game proper before the launch of a new issue. Anyone else feel this? -
Quote:Ingame e-mail is already disabled for trial accounts.Once again, you've missed the OBVIOUS solution: Disable In-Game E-Mail For Trial Accounts.
If a Trial Account can't send me e-mail, I no longer have to worry about setting who can and can't send it to me. K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple, Silly.
EDIT: *shakes fist at Kong Fuu -
Quote:I see. Thanks for the explanation.AE auto-sk's lowbies up to the *ideal maximum exp* level. This is going to auto sk to 1 level below the mission holder, not 5 levels below.
So by the sound of it, this will cut AE PLing as well, as it will probably override the AE SK rules and SK to 1 level below, not 5 below. -
Maybe I'm missing something here... I don't farm or PL, so I'm not completely familiar with the mechanics, but the impression I had was that part of the reason (discounting exploits) why AE was a PLers dream was because it auto-SKd lowbies up to the required level. You're planning on doing this to the entire game?
I hope I have the wrong impression, as I love the sound of it otherwise. Removing the last of the restrictions around teaming is going to be a HUGE help. I just hope it can't lead to another AE-sized mess. -
One pool I'd like for concept is Bow Mastery.
Something like:
Snap Shot
Entangling Arrow
Fistful of Arrows
Explosive Arrow
or maybe
2 of Entangling/Flash/Glue Arrow
Aimed Shot
Fistful of Arrows/Explosive Arrow
Pistol Mastery would be another concept I'm sure a lot of Scrappers would go for. And since we now have fire and elec options, some fire and elec APPs would be good too. -
Quote:Ingame feedback does work cross-region now.Sounds like fun. I've forgotten most of my four years of high school French class, but I will definately play one of these and give my feedback here - I don't think the feedback /tells work across the pond, unless they've fixed that. And I hope you will forgive what I'm sure will be my awful butchering of the bits and pieces of French language I will try adding in my review.
Bon... uh... luck!
(offtopic) the problem was the two Global systems are not connected, so if you sent feedback to @Joe who is in the EU and you are in the NA, it went to @Joe in the NA, if he existed at all.
The new system completely ignore globals, so it works cross-region. -
Thanks for the review, MCM! I'm glad you enjoyed the arc. A few responses:
"Oberation Oscillithruster" is the correct spelling I believe. I have no idea what it is either.
In addition to the 3 minions and 3 LTs you saw, there are 3 bosses. (Computer Hacker, Crooked Cop and Thief Assassin.) I occasionally think of adding them to the arc as forced boss spawns so solo people will see them, but I imagine the map has enough bosses already.
Glad you liked the clues etc. They're pretty much the main point of the arc IMO. I hope you read the souvenir.
Thanks again for the review -
Sorry OP but you seem a little misled.
Although Cryptic is the original developer of CoH, they have nothing to do with CoH now, and Paragon Studios and NCSoft have nothing to do with STO or CO. NC isn't publishing STO or CO.
So neither Paragon Studios or NCSoft have any input on STO or CO's Mac support. -
They have rewards now? What kind of rewards?
-
I like the tags on this thread.
Something tells me that feature is going to be a font of endless amusement. -
The arcs I'd normally request are 45-50, so I'll ask for a slightly lower 1-mission arc. Sorry, it's still not quite a lowbie one...
The Bestest Radio Mission Ever (#1526) 35-50
1EB, a few bosses. May be able to do it on a lower level character anyway, depending on build - if you think you can take out a Chief Soldier on the character, you can probably do it. -
Quote:How many smileys?
i have 4 URLs and a few smileys
Quote:Images include use of smilies -
Wasn't on much, but...
Blaster 49-50
Brute 26-28
Controller 32-35 (two of those levels were gained entirely on the first mission of the KHTF. Mary's pretty good for XP...) -
Thanks for the review!
Quote:I've not noticed this bug myself, but I'll see about removing it. My main problem if I do is whe won't be easily able to keep up with players who do have fly/SJ etcHmm. Interesting ally, certainly, makes some of the things the contact says make sense. But can she not have flight? Flight allies do this thing where they clip through the ground, get stuck, and stop following you.
Quote:Also I think from a narrative perspective all the suspicious people should show up after you spring the ally. Because I mowed down two of 'em on the way there, so it wasn't much of a search.
Void Slayer, though? This ain't good.
Quote:Interesting customs here. Guess you're going for a sort of "half-dwarf" or "half nova" feel?
Quote:Boss goes down easily enough... and I wonder which girl he was talking about. I was expecting my ally from mission 1 here, but...
Well, we'll see what happens on return.
Huh. I figured she was coming with me into the forest, but I guess not.
Quote:Hmm! Wonder what Sunstorm's going to look like, or does he actually have a real model?
Oh. A PPD awakened?
Wait, dude's actually PPD. This must be the version villains fight, since his AP civies look very different.
Quote:...oh boy, it's a boss with rage. Autohit double damage for two minutes. That's a nice complement to my absolutely no resistances.
Quote:Storyline - ***. There are a couple things I have a problem with here. First, Sunstorm accidentally sends my contact into the exact camouflaged 5th Column base the raid comes from. That's some epic oops there. Second, I find it hard to believe that nobody in the Council or 5th has investigated what happens when the Kheldian a human bonds to is really, really weak, as that seems to be the only reason why anybody wants Alice to begin with. As for Alice's weakness, it makes sense to me that a scientist would want to experiment on the weakest subject he could find before moving on to tougher ones. Alice's situation opens their eyes to possibilities they hadn't really considerd before - forcing a Kheldian/Nictus to bond to a human under the human's complete control.
If this isn't communicated well enough in the arc, I guess I need to do some rewriting.
Quote:Design - ****. The extra Galaxy troopers are a nice touch, but they only get used like once. I would've expected them to be working in Arakhn's base, at least. The 5th Column EB is a pretty nice clone of the 5th look.
Quote:Gameplay - ***. Rage is really just the "go stand somewhere else for 2 minutes" power for me, just because of how good the bonuses are to an NPC. That plus the missing an early glowie and clearing out the entire base looking for a hostage were the major frustrations. (maybe instead of a glowie, find her unconscious and escort her the 20 feet to the door?)
What I'll do for now is put in a patrol in the middle, saying "We'd better go dispose of that bodybag by the base entrance." Hopefully anyone who missed the glowie will head back to check.
Quote:Overall - ****. Some of the gameplay harfs were just down to me missing something obvious, and the storyline isn't weak enough to pull this down too far. -
Gaussian's mission where you have to prevent the Sword assassinating Lady Grey. An escort, with much tougher than usual enemies, full of constant ambushes and about four or five forced boss spawns. I like fighting the Sword, but this mission is a utter pain.
-
Er, yeah. I think it's supposed to be in the other MA section.
I should probably check mine... -
Quote:For the most part the move was greeted with approval or indifference (mostly indifference), but the explanation of where the user stars went was basically Cuppa posting a monologue from Katamari Damacy verbatim. Which promptly got criticized for being too "flippant", making Cuppa have to apologize.
This sounds awesome, and I'm kinda curious which monologue it was. -
Just tested, shows in webdings in IE but normal English in Firefox.

Nice thread. I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at The Sleeping Star (#53951)
