  1. Completely agree with the OP. Devs Choice needs to be on some kind of a rotation, and choices need to be made more often.
  2. I'm saddened by the lack of...

Read or Die (Action/Drama) - Think of James Bond, crossed with X-Men, crossed with your local library service. Highly unusual anime with great action. The 3 episode OVA is best, and pretty much required to fully understand the TV series which focuses on a different set of characters.
Warning, this anime is not a hentai but the following videos contain some suggestive nudity and are probably not work safe
"Read or Die" OVA intro - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH0zsABQiaQ
    "R.O.D. The TV" intro - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fqmq-WiSKI0

Haibane Renmei (Drama) - Slow, thoughtful and spiritual anime about a group of girls with grey wings and halos... Next to no action or explosions, and quite slow paced until about ep 6/7, but an excellent, emotional story. Created by Yoshitoshi ABe, character designer of Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze, Welcome to the N.H.K.
This isn't for everyone, but those who it is for will love it forever.
Unfortunately it seems it's quite hard to find Stateside these days though.
This video is also probably NWS for shot of a naked character, but you'd be hard pressed to find a less-exploitative anime IMO

I'll also lend my support to...
Cowboy Bebop +1 (stylish, awesome music, great action and great stories)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya +1 (not the smartest anime I've ever seen, but definitely the most sly. Takes anime tropes and ruthlessly deconstructs them into something very interesting. Watch it in it's original non-chronological broadcast order for best effect. Don't bother with season 2 unless you're a HUGE fan - if you are not a HUGE fan season 2 may cause you to not be a fan at all)
Death Note +1 (a plot that twists like a pretzel with some of the greatest surprises possible, and fantastic characters)
Excel Saga +1 (utterly madcap screwball comedy that never fails to surprise)
Princess Tutu +1 (beautifully animated, surprisingly dark and utterly unique mash up of magical girl, ballet, Wagner and the brothers Grimm...)
Fullmetal Alchemist +1 (strong characters, cool powers, dark drama, sickening events, crapsack world...)
Everything by Studio Ghibli +1 (nuff said)

That's an option - if you don't mind not having access to your stored inf, your friends list, your veteran rewards, your unlocked HEATS and VEATS, and your super-boosters/GvE bonuses/Power Slide/so on.

This is not on the agenda for the simple reason that it's impossible
Is this actually impossible though, or the Power Customisation kind of impossible?

Sorry if that seems a little snide, but over the last few months the devs have proven that when it comes to groundbreaking changes that are of immense value to the playerbase, they have the skill, the ideas and the determination to make it happen.

I cannot think of a game change that would have more value to the EU playerbase than a server list merge. Period.
  5. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. IMO this needs to be done, and I don't care what it takes. If it meant taking Defiant and Union offline for a week to fly them to the USA, I would support that. (provided I had already been given access to the US servers of course )
  6. IMO a server list merge is outright necessary to grow the game and make the EU sub worth the money compared to the US sub.
We now have all the disadvantages of seperate lists, with none of the benefits.

No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Open to legal residents of the United States and Canada (excluding the State of Rhode Island, and excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military installations and commonwealths, and Québec) 13 years of age or older with Internet access, an e-mail account with access to a personal computer, and an active City of Heroes account.
    So non-Americans can't enter again.
  8. Thought I'd drop a note to say that everything's installed and working great! Thanks again!

    And Yuki is awesome.
  9. I see Paladin, for a moment, and then it immediately switches to a "security token broken" message.
  10. Not much to say but... good post.
  11. I'd like to put in a request for "The Sleeping Star" (53951)
  12. Thanks again. I'll downgrade the RAM, drop the cooler, and start shopping around for good prices.
  13. Thanks for that, Father Xmas. I was hoping I'd get to keep my RAM, but I guess it's not to be. My parents will be glad to have the hand-me-down RAM I guess

Fortunately I do have a PCI-E card which I think will suffice for now (GeForce 9500GT 1GB)

Looking at their all-rounder and replacing bits with items I already have (in italics) I think this is what I may end up with...

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 9500GT 1GB
    CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250 (£54.25)
    Motherboard: MSI 770-C45 (£50.06)
    Memory: G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB 1,600MHz Cl9 DDR3 (£60.94)
Chassis: Some kind of metal box
    PSU: Enermax Liberty 500W
    Cooler: Akasa AK-876 (£14.36)
Optical: TTSTcorp CD/DVDW TSH552U which is IDE but should be OK on that motherboard. I'll need to drop my other DVD drive (also IDE) but I never used it these days anyway...
    Storage: 700GB SATA Hitachi

Which comes to a total of £179.61 + P+P, which is higher than I was looking for but I guess I can manage that.

Is there anything important I'm overlooking? Thanks for your help.
  14. Good to hear.

Yeah, I was maybe unclear. I don't have a problem with farming, I should have said exploiting. I was kinda nervous that when the boss farms were plugged, some new exploit would be unearthed the next day that would make the fix moot, just like what happeened with comm officers/customs with no ranged attack/mitos...
  15. I've been upgrading this computer in bits over the last few years, and it's come to the point where it seems like my CPU (Athlon 64 3000+ 1.81GHz) is dragging the rest of it down. Unfortunately I've not been following developments in this area, so I'm not sure what kind of chip to go for these days.

Can anyone give me a suggestion for what to look for? Looking to spend between £100 and £150 in total for both the CPU and a motherboard.
  16. I never really paid attention to AE farms, mostly just avoided Atlas, and never really had trouble finding teams when I wanted one, so I'll ask people who might know...

Have the changes in I16 had the desired effect, (from the devs point of view) of removing AE PL teams, and have you noticed more players leaving Atlas to see the rest of the game?
  17. I predict the next review will be "Foxbattle of the Network Stars."
  18. Thanks for your review of Bestest. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'll request another arc when you hit level 40
  19. Maybe I'm just up too late again, but that's the funniest thing I saw all day.

This is a superb post and a great point - all of the endgame content CoH has ever had is still valid, and new endgame content will not supplant it. +Rep for you for thinking outside the box.
  22. Frankly, I'm more interested in WoW's redesign of their low-level content than I am in their raised level cap. Now there's somewhere whhere copying WoW in CoH is not only plausable but a good idea.
  23. I want to make a hovering Elec/Elec. Do you have to be standing on the ground for Grounded to work properly or is being near it enough?

If not, considering adding Combat Jumping and a Karma IO for Immob/KB protection anyway.
  24. If you're level 35 you should ba able to take on "The Bestest Radio Mission Ever." (#1526) Though your character may not get it, since they've not done any radio missions.
