In hindsight, we should have just had two raids the first time around. All the mess was because we tried to combine enough people for two raids into Hive 2.
The basic problem was this: ULTRA had already decided on who was running the teams and who was going to be in each. When I arrived in The Hive, however, I found someone else had already started a full tank team waiting for instructions.
At this point, the smart thing to do would have been to say, "okay, since you guys already have your teams sorted out, ULTRA will start a raid in Hive 2, and you have a raid in Hive 1". But instead, I attempted to get everybody into Hive 2 (someone had already spawned Hamidon in Hive 1) and that was a misjudgement on my part.
I made a second misjudgement when I thought we could go on with our non-evac plan when half of the ULTRA people couldn't even get in. A lot of people were not on the ball and everybody but the yellow aggro team wiped when we attempted the non-evac raid. But, we simply reset and continued with a standard evac raid, and it was not a big deal.

why you haz so much raid drama? -
The reward timer for Hami is 18 hours, not 24 hours. I just confirmed that by picking 53 merits again, 18 hours and 10 minutes after getting 53 merits on last night's first Hami.

Tonight was a mess. At the scheduled raid time, there were already over 20 people in The Hive, and they had already spawned Hamidon. Since our tankers needed EOE, We attempted to move into The Hive 2, but the zone got filled fast, which meant a lot of ULTRA people couldn't get in.
21:55 EST: We start killing monsters.
22:01 EST: Hamidon spawns.
22:11 EST: First attack wave. Everybody in the goo.
22:17 EST: Hamidon at 75%. First bloom.
22:25 EST: Second attack wave.
22:33 EST: Hamidon at 50%. Second bloom.
22:37 EST: Third attack wave.
22:46 EST: Hamidon at 25%. Third and final bloom.
22:50 EST: Fourth attack wave
23:00 EST: Hamidon dies.
At this point, ULTRA stayed in The Hive 2 to raid again, while Tammy took over Hive 1. The first two blooms went really fast; unfortunately, for the third bloom we picked a few griefers, and it went downhill from there (taunting into the green team = lots of dead trollers). The green team was wiped in both the third and the fourth bloom, and we had to leave the goo and reenter. The final wave took 22 minutes, instead of the usual 6 to 8.
23:20 EST: We start killing monsters. Again.
23:24 EST: Hamidon spawns. Again.
23:29 EST: First attack wave. Everybody in the goo.
23:37 EST: Hamidon at 75%. First bloom.
23:42 EST: Second attack wave.
23:51 EST: Hamidon at 50%. Second bloom.
23:53 EST: Third attack wave. Stalled due to griefing.
00:06 EST: Third attack wave redux.
00:16 EST: Hamidon at 25%. Third bloom.
00:20 EST: Fourth attack wave. Stalled due to griefing.
00:31 EST: Fourth attack wave redux.
00:42 EST: ULTRA has defeated Hamidon. Again.

Quote:I did that on my main character back when Ouro was first introduced (Issue 11?) with the addition that I also did every Peacebringer/Warshade arc. For a while, it was pretty fun walking around the city with NPCs gossiping about my controller being a "great Peacebringer".My prime villain badger, having finished the dayjobs, proceeded to Ouroborus to look through time crystal for some fun arcs and found that he had a few arcs in each group that were not starred. Well they all are now. Truly my villain can say "been there, done that".

Hamidon decided to spice things up for tonight’s raid, and moved considerably to the west during the third attack wave. This caused the Yellow Damage team to get wiped during the fourth attack wave, and added a good ten minutes to the total raid time. We still kicked his goo, though.
The first attack wave went in at 22:23 EST and Hamidon died at 23:16 EST, for a total 53 minutes of raid time, including the wipe. Hilariously, at least 10 people quit The Hive when the Yellow Damage team wiped, which allowed others to get in for the last 10 minutes of the raid. Some people give up so easily…
Tegann @Izzie98 tanked Hamidon under the tutelage of Mr. Riot @Mad Hatter Man.
Hamidon Aggro Leader: Mr. Riot @Mad Hatter Man
Yellow Aggro Leader: Natural Destruction. @tanknation
Yellow Damage Leader: Nocta @Scrapulous
Green Leader: Doctor Leo @Leandro
Raid Leader: Doctor Leo @Leandro
The next ULTRA raid is scheduled for Saturday, January 23rd, at 10:00PM EST.

You could also try setting it to Windowed mode.

Heads up for everybody, we're having a blueside raid tonight (monday) at 10PM EST. Check the time by using this link: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/tim.../eastern-time/

Saturday Hami raid took forever to get started (a couple of tanks kept disconnecting and had to be replaced), but once we got started, the actual raid portion lasted 48 minutes from insertion to finish.
Tomorrow's raid will be led by @Tritonfree aka Philly Girl. -
Quote:I think those buildings are supposed to be Talos. If you hit the south wall, you actually get transported to Talos.I was actually shown how to get there another, more complicated way which involved flying to the corner of the map. On a side note, once you went "off the map" in the corner, you are able to fly to the edge of the world and if you looked around the horizon you could see a group of buildings. If you flew to them, they were just a group of buildings, some just floating in the air.....like some sort of ghost town.
No, it doesn't really make sense because Talos is surrounded by War Walls.
As for the hole itself, I know which one you're talking about (you had to hug the south wall and swim close to it until you got "stuck", then you could jump through to the other side) but I haven't tried to use that for years, since the door trick is easier. I've /bugged both the south wall hole and the buried door a bunch of times, because it can be used to grief very very easily (just go under the map, aggro some monsters on you, they can't attack back; drag them to some lowbies on Portal Corp.) and also you could go under the map and attack mobs and they wouldn't be able to attack you back. -
As an historic side note, back when Monster Island was first added to Grandville, you could go to that exact same location in Grandville, do the exact same trick, and your villlain would end up outside the walls closing Monster Island from Peregrine Island; there wasn't much to do there as all the contacts and NPCs were removed, but it was very amusing for my villain to be running around Peregrine Island. The hole was patched in the Monster Island map (if you try it now, you fall into a puddle of water under the door) but not in the real Peregrine Island map.

Back when I used to do videos I made a script to do crazy moves like those. While Arcana is talking about nice things to move the camera around, there's this bit of script that I used to make sure the camera kept pointing to the same place while moving like crazy:
Code:Now, I don't even REMEMBER how I came up with that piece of code, only that it works (I used mostly in Donuts). Put the camera's position in $camx, $camy, $camz, the target's position in $lookatx, $lookaty, $lookatz, and you'll have the proper values to stick in $pitch, $yaw ($roll is always 0 with this thing.)$pi = 3.14159265359; $diffx = $camx - $lookatx; $diffz = $camz - $lookatz; $diffy = $camy - $lookaty; if (($diffx == 0) and ($diffy == 0)) { if ($diffz > 0) { $pitch = $pi / 2; } else { $pitch = 0 - ($pi / 2); } } else { $pitch = atan($diffz / sqrt(($diffx * $diffx) + ($diffy * $diffy))); } if ($diffx == 0) { if ($diffy > 0) { $yaw = 0; } else { $yaw = $pi; } } else { if ($diffx > 0) { $yaw = $pi / 2 - atan($diffy / $diffx); } else { $yaw = (0 - $pi) / 2 - atan($diffy / $diffx); } if ($lookatcam == 0) { $yaw = $yaw + $pi; if ($yaw > $pi) { $yaw = $yaw - ($pi * 2); } } }
Oh, as for the $lookatcam parameter down there. The camera faces the opposite way than NPCs/Players/Objects do; when an object is facing one way with a certain $yaw number, the camera is facing the opposite way with the same $yaw number. So basically, $lookatcam==0 inverts the yaw to fit the camera's coordinate system; if $lookatcam is set to 1, it means $camx, $camy, $camz is an object, and so it doesn't invert the yaw.
I know my variable names don't make much sense when you think about them (which is why I never share my source code for anything...) but I worry more about the code working than looking pretty. -
Hi. I no longer have an NVIDIA card, but if I recall correctly, installing the PhysX drivers from NVIDIA added an icon in the Control Panel where you could SELECT between "Ageia PhysX" and "GeForce PhysX". Make sure the Ageia one is selected if you have the actual card.
Edit: found you a screenshot.

You want to put the 2 sticks that are 1GB is the DIMM 0 of both channels and the 2 sticks that are 512 MB in the DIMM 1 of both channels. Here's a handy little graphic:
What it probably currently is:
What you want it to be (replace "256MB" with "1GB", I'm too lazy to make my own version):

Quote:I decided I lost that battle back when dual core processors started getting popular. I was asked countless times "why should I buy a Core2Duo at 2GHz? My Pentium 4 is 3GHz!"; talking about how computers run a lot of processes and it makes sense to have more processors to run them got me confused people; talking about how the Core2 architecture is more efficient than P4's and one MHz in a Core2 is more efficient than 1MHz in a P4 got me suspicious looks. Saying "because it's two processors, so the Core2Duo is actually running at 4GHz!" got me happy faces. So yeah, I have people now who think their Core2Quad runs at 10GHz... and the friends they're bragging to have even less clue than they do, so as long as it keeps them out of my hair, I'm happy.Yes but that doesn't mean it can't be a teaching moment. All I can imagine is some young gamer bragging to his friends that his memory is clocked at over 3GHz simply because they're running a pair of DDR3-1600 clocked at 800MHz.
If you had simply said that dual channel memory is twice as fast as single channel I wouldn't have batted an eye. However once you started to use clock frequency as a substitute for total bandwidth I had to say something.
AMD/Cyrix had the right idea back when they started marketing their processors with their "performance" speed in MHz equivalent. People just want to see one nice number that represents the "speed" and go with it. -
Quote:Are we writing to a hardware engineer, or to a non-techie who wants to know what the speed difference will be? :PHowever extending that analogy to multiple memory channels is simply wrong. While multiple channel memory can double (or triple in the case of Core i7-9xx CPUs) the memory bandwidth, no hardware engineer would remotely consider describing it as another double or tripling of the memory clock.
I know, you are aware you're nitpicking, but think of your audience here... -
NVIDIA's 64-bit driver support has a history of being... suboptimal. Try going back to an older driver.
That said, I just went back to Windows XP to avoid stuff like this. There are a ton of minor annoyances in 7. -
Put it all in. I'm going to guess the speed of your sticks is either 667MHz or 800MHz based on the size; if you install it properly in a Dual Channel motherboard, the speed difference will be 1334MHz vs. 1600MHz.
If you want to know your current memory timings, download CPUZ from http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php and look at the Memory and SPD tabs.
In the Memory tab, look at Channels #: "Dual" means it's operating under dual channel (reading/writing from 2 sticks at once) and DRAM Frequency displays the actual frequency the memory is operating at. Example, in my system: DRAM Frequency 480MHz (due to a little overclocking), x2 because it's DDR2 memory = 960MHz; x2 because it's Dual Channel = 1920MHz final speed.
In the "SPD" tab you'll be able to select each slot of memory in your motherboard and see what speeds each stick supports; it'll be a table at the bottom. Again, because it's DDR2 memory, you have to double all the values you see. -
After a lot of digging I managed to get time cards in Argentina from the official distributor, Edusoft. They don't sell time cards, but if you deposit money in their bank account, they email you the codes. No receipt of any kind, rather unprofessional if you ask me, but it works and it means I don't have to go through the Brazilian distributor...

This has been happening for a long time but I always forget to post about it. The last room of the LGTF's final map has tons of graphical glitches, both in my previous NVIDIA card and in my current Radeon; both in Windows 7 and in Windows XP.
As you enter the final room and look around, huge parts of the geometry disappear and reapper; the mothership bottom, the catwalks, the portal, everything. From several angles you can't see any of the geometry at all, just the Rikti in the room. Here are a few example screenshots:
This has been broken for a very long time. Also, the cutscenes are missing all the emotes; they just say their text while standing there. -
Quote:This has nothing to do with lack of cooperation, Ditzy... if Freedom Elite is raiding in Hive 1, we can't get everybody from ULTRA in, because the zone fills so fast. Same deal if ULTRA is raiding in Hive 1 and Freedom Elite wants to raid; it's unlikely they'd get everybody they want in on the same instance. By using separate instances we make sure that everybody from both channels gets their raid done. You know guy//gals? You are all being really silly.Hell... schedule back to back hami's and leave be.Ummmmmmm.... whats that word.......... Sec.. I need websters!!!!!... C O O P E R A T I O N!
Hope I spelled it right...
In any case, our schedule is fixed, so it's not like we'll be scheduling over someone else's. For the moment, I am the bind monkey for Saturdays, and Tritonfree for Sundays.

Thanks. I wouldn't worry bout cross scheduling, as we've agreed to hit The Hive 2 if there's a raid already in progress when we schedule one. It's not just Saturdays anymore; we just had our first Sunday raid, and it won't be the last.
