  1. Synapse replied to me that while he can't disclose the actual numbers, he can say that "no item is weighted more than 5x than any other item."

This is a very important point, because our tables are showing top items drop 10x more often than the bottom items. This implies that need a lot more data to get the actual numbers, and also gives us a higher bound: the top recipe in our tables is 5x, and it goes downhill from there. This is most definitely an oversimplification, but I'm going to go ahead and update the tables to include a "Weight" column, which will assume the top recipe is weighted at 5x. In theory, after many many many drops, we should see some clear "break points" emerge.
  2. Very nice! Those 606 rolls brings the 25-29 range to 1285 rolls total, and some clear winners are surfacing. I think we still need at least another thousand rolls however, as your rolls added two recipes to the range that hadn't even been captured before. It's starting to look like we're going to need at least 3000 rolls for this range. Too many recipes!

If you have your global channels in only one tab, and you delete that tab, the channels are removed from all your characters. This can happen very easily if you accidentally right-click the mouse while strafing to the right, because the default key to strafe right ("D") is the same as the shortcut for "Delete Tab".

I've had this happen several times, bugged it, begged for a confirmation before delete tab, but nothing's changed. The workaround is to put all your channels in more than one tab; that way, if you delete one tab accidentally, the other tab will still have the channels and so they won't be removed.

I'll send Positron a PM... or is it War Witch now? or Synapse? Yeah, Synapse is the rewards guy, he's probably the one to ask. It can't hurt to ask.

I don't know the first thing about statistics, but in my mind, "good numbers"=high enough to get 4-5 of the least likely to get recipe.

Here's what I mean: with 672 rolls like we currently have, a lot of recipes have been rolled only once, giving them a 1/672 chance, which is probably off. However, with the 1650 rolls in the 15-19 range, even the lowest recipe has been rolled 8 times, giving a 1/209 chance (probably 1/200) which I have a lot more confidence in.

There are 45 recipes in the 15-19 range, so if 1650 rolls were enough to get "good numbers" for it, that's 1650/45=36 rolls per recipe in the pool. Let's make it 30 rolls per recipe on the pool. Applying that to the 24-29 range, which has 86 recipes, that means 86*30=2580 rolls for similarly "good" numbers.

Again, I'm not a statistician, I'm going with what my gut tells me it's common sense.
  8. PUG WTF MOMENT!

So, I start a Cavern of Trascendence trial and ask for players in Freedom Events, Freedom Monster, Freedom Badge, etc; the regular global channels. Among the people who reply, there's this guy, I'll call him "Pikachu" to protect the guilty.

So, I have 8 people, I explain to them: I'll port each of you to one of 8 obelisks, and we have to click them all simultaneously. After that, I'll port everybody to the final monster. Nobody moves from where I port you to, ok? And a chorus of "ok" comes back, including Pikachu.

I port people to their respective obelisks, do the countdown, and... all the obelisks but Pikachu's are clicked. He's in the middle of the map, battling some Pumicites and promptly getting killed. Annoyed, I port him to my obelisk, tell him to stay there ("ok" comes back) and I move to another obelisk.

I do the countdown again, and... Pikachu doesn't click. I target him, and he's... flying around the middle of the map.

Now quite annoyed, I start blasting him on team chat:

Doctor Leo: Pikachu, WHAT THE HECK are you doing?!
Teammate: is there anyone else you can put on it?
Doctor Leo: no, we need 8
    Teammate: damn, that's right

Pikachu is still flying around the map, and I lose my patience:

Doctor Leo: Pikachu, you need to stay at the obelisk and click it when we say so, stop DOING THAT!

And he replies, in team chat:

    Pikachu: no se donde estais

INSERT WTF HERE. That's spanish for "I don't know where you are". The guy didn't understand English and was trying to get together with the group. I have no idea how he understood that I was asking for people to do the trial, or how he managed to pick my message among the many messages in English in the global channels I spammed.

    So I switch to Spanish:

Doctor Leo: Tenés que mantenerte donde te digo yo
Doctor Leo: Y apretar el obelisco cuando decimos
    Teammate: el clicko
Doctor Leo: No te muevas como idiota por todo el mapa
    Pikachu: ok

"You have to stay where I port you, and click the obelisk when we say so. Don't move like an idiot all over the map." So I port him, and:

    Doctor Leo: Quedate ahi
Doctor Leo: Click in 30 seconds
Doctor Leo: CLICK EN 10 SEGUNDOS
    Pikachu: vale
Doctor Leo: CLICK NOW - HAZ CLICK AHORA

Everybody clicks their obelisks, Pikachu included, and the door is unlocked. We rush to Koago, and finish the trial, 13 minutes in. The annoyance past, I relax, and then a teammate hits me with this message:

Teammate: damn, you're pretty much useful for everything, aren't you?

    I just had to laugh.
  9. This is something I've been thinking about. The devs have stated that there will be no War Walls in Praetoria. That means, possibly, that you can travel between the zones without having to go through a "zone gate" like we do in COH, or a ferry like we do in COV (since as far as I'm aware, Praetoria won't be a bunch of islands).

Now, they probably could rig something so you could change zones by touching the "force field" at the frontier of a zone and appearing in another zone (you can do that currently if you swim to the south end of Peregrine Island; the game will dump you in Talos). However, the more I think about it, the more I feel that the devs wouldn't be happy with such clunky zoning, and would rather have a seamless zone transition.

Which would mean, you could start in whatever zone Praetoria starts at, and sprint all the way to the highest level zone without seeing a single loading screen. And how could they do that without messing with the game too much? By cramming all of Praetoria in a single zone.

We have pretty huge zones; the Shadow Shard zones are massive (if quite empty), Nerva could be considered three zones by itself (Actual zone, Agincourt, Primeva/Thorn Tree), Independence Port is quite large as well...

Actually, think about Independence Port for a while. It has a zone "within" the zone, Terra Volta, which is larger inside than outside. The screenshot that was given to us as a teaser showed some caves. Maybe one of the zones will be a system of caves where the Resistance meets, which can easily be "gated" from the rest of Praetoria?

Of course, if this were the case, I expect to see a ton of instances of the zone, as I'm sure a lot more than 200 players would visit it (at least when first released). The zone population cap is the one big issue I see against this implementation.

How would you feel if Praetoria had four or five "zones" worth of content, but all together in one "big zone" so we can seamlessly move between them? Would you think "THE EXPANSION IS JUST ONE ZONE! FAIL! RAGEQUIT!" or welcome the lack of zoning, and adapt to hopping instances a lot?
  10. Thanks, Liquid! Wiki page updated. There are 85 recipes in this pool (so far), so we'll probably need a lot more data before we can get good numbers. As it is, the more valuable recipe of the pool (LOTG 7.5) has a drop rate of about 1:46, and the Miracle: +Recovery has a drop rate of 1:121 (very high margin of error.)
  11. Great job, we have 1803 rolls in the 20-24 range now... and Pacing of the Turtle is still too darn high.
  12. Leandro

    Influence cap?

I tend to not give a darn about influence unless there's something specific I want to buy, at which point I start selling crafted common IOs for a neat 200K-400K profit per IO (I have every recipe memorized) and doing lots and lots of TFs to buy expensive recipes with merits, for 500K-750K per merit (LOTG 7.5s, Miracle +Rec, etc). I can easily get a billion inf in less than a month that way. The only reason I never hit the cap is that I buy whatever I want (Panacea sets, the last time; bought the last one, a Panacea: Heal for a billion last week, the bid is still listed in Wentworths) and then go back to playing regularly without caring much for influence.

On another note, does anyone think these free transfers will reduce the number of "I cant get into Freedom for Double XP weekend, the devs are evil!!!!!111!" posts?
You need to get into the character selection screen in order to move the character, so probably not.
  14. Awesome, PumBumbler! That's 1456 rolls in the 20-24 category now, and the first thing that comes to mind is, "what the heck is Pacing of the Turtle doing ranked so darn high?" And both of them, in fact.

Thanks Liquid! It's been added to the Wiki table now. A lot of recipes in this range!

Not sure what the deal is with those asterisks by Force Feedback, Performance Shifter, and Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Control.
Those recipes have a non-breakable space before the colon. No idea why, but looks like the board software translates it into an asterisk. My script strips them before parsing the recipe names. Your recipe names also doubled the percent signs for stuff (so 7.5%% Run Speed instead of 7.5%). My script cleans that as well.
  16. I managed to get a couple more copies through when I moved my character to Justice for tonight's Hami raid and then back; every time the character copied, I could get the script to send a copy over to Test. So, there's 107 rolls in the Wiki page now, which is not much, but it'll grow as soon as the Copy Tool decides to stop working against me.
  17. That was fun. I didn't die a single time, but my team hugged the dirt a lot :P

And I got Texas Justice to team! Woo!

Doc, I really think the recipe weighting is done on a per-recipe basis, and that the wording in the patch notes is incorrect. The patch notes said: "the recipes generated by random rolls have been weighted so that recipes for common power types (such as Ranged Damage) drop more often than sets that are not so commonly used (such as Confuse)", but I we're not really seeing that. I think the recipe weighting is based on what actual data mining of which IOs are slotted the most across all characters.

Take the three heal recipes in the 15-19 range. Regenerative Tissue: End/Heal/Rech dropped 45 times; Theft of Essence: Chance for +End dropped 25 times; and Theft of Essence: Acc/End/Rech dropped 19 times. The difference is too great to be a statistical artifact. Coincidentally, the recipe that drops the most (Regenerative Tissue) is tied to a 5-piece set with 5% recharge bonus in the last slot.

I found this post from Ex Libris that has a different wording: "Recipes that can be slotted into more powers and/or are slotted more often by players will have a greater chance of dropping. (Example: the Devastation ranged damage IO recipe set would be more likely to drop than the Trap of the Hunter immobilize IO recipe set. This is because Devastation can be slotted into a greater percentage of existing powers and is more often slotted by players than Trap of the Hunter)". Key words: "are slotted more often by players".
  19. The character copy tool seems to be taking FOREVER to let me copy the same character several times.

I'm trying to copy my main several times in order to gather data for this page, but while the actual copy process takes maybe five minutes, the Copy Tool is then stuck with the message "Doctor Leo (copy in progress)" for a very, very long time. I made a copy yesterday at 10:30pm, and today at 1:30pm, FIFTEEN HOURS later, it was still saying "(copy in progress)".

  21. It's not godhood. Yesterday, me and three others (2 trollers, a blaster, and a defender) ran Positron in one hour and 22 minutes. I don't have an screenshot to prove that one, but I do have an screenshot of last friday's, when my team took an hour and 30 minutes:

We were racing three SG teams to see who finished first, and the second place team clocked at one hour and 41 minutes. The teams weren't optimized for anything, we just grabbed people and went.

Anyone else having this problem? I would just like to have access to the info, in case I decide to move someone before the end of February. Thanks.
The post is badly worded. You don't lose any POSSESSIONS in the sense that we think about them: all your enhancements, salvage, inspirations, recipes, influence, badges, market inventory, and items in your storage vault move with you. The "possessions" you "lose" are:

    - SG membership. The SG stays in the original server.
    - Whatever you had in the SG storage, at least until you transfer back. The items STAY in the base, you just don't have access to the base from another server.
    - SG rank, SG prestige. Again, the prestige STAYS on the SG, but because you "quit" the supergroup, your personal count resets.
    - Server friends list.
    - If the name of your character is already used in the new server, you "lose" the name; that is, you are given a free rename and need to pick a new name on the new server. If you don't "reserve" the name in your original server, and it's a very popular name, someone might take it while you're "away". Best thing to do if you plan to return: move the character, and immediately create a level 1 character with the same name on the original server. That way, nobody can make a character with the same name, and the name is "safe" until you come back (at which point you move the character back to your server, delete the placeholder level 1 character, and rename the moved character back to its original name).
    - Due to what is explained above, you can use a server transfer as a free rename.
  23. Well, I started 20-24, but the character copy tool keeps saying "copy in progress" on my character for the last 15 hours at least (it's been stuck since I posted the last message), so I can't add any rolls until it decides to work. The data on the first 25 rolls I managed to do is on the wiki.

Edit: well, I managed to get another copy through, so that's 25 more rolls. And now the copy tool is again making me wait forever.
