    A bug in game

    OP: By your description, looks like your character selection screen is empty. Make sure you selected the same server where you created the characters; each server (Justice, Freedom, Virtue) houses different characters. You can't just open any server and see your characters in there.
  2. One important thing to learn is that the listing priced is not usually "gauged" by buyers. Buyers tend to bid in the range of the last 5 recipes, and don't bother to check for lower prices.

    Case in point: last week, I crafted 3 Adjusted Targeting recipes; the last 5 sales were for 10 million influence. I listed them for 5 million. They didn't sell immediately, so I let them sit.

    That night, they sold - one for 10 million influence, two for 25 million influence each. Someone was really in a hurry to get two of those. Nobody bothered to bid under 10 million just to see if there were any available with a lower listing price.
  3. This all makes perfect sense to me. $15 "more" if you want 4 months early access to DP and 3 month early access to DS. They are not charging you for the powersets, just saying that if you want them early, it'll cost you a bit more.

    I'll just wait for the complete collection.

    Stop believing your lying friends.
    Considering they have sold me a few Panacea sets obtained from their farming efforts, I have no reason to think they are lying, and all the reason to think you are unlucky and believing your own lack of luck applies to everyone else. That, or trying to "prove" that PVP IO farming doesn't "work" so it doesn't get looked into.

    I'd gladly pay 100 million influence for a portal to a private instance of The Hive / The Abyss in order to have raids with my SG/globals without leechers, and I know I'm not alone on that.

    (Heck, even at ONE BILLION INF to access the private raiding zone, that's still 20 million inf per character at the cap. Some SGs would go for it.)

    People with two accounts farm PVP IOs for cash while AFK easily. Take a character with a self rez power; lock it on an Ouro TF mode with the no enhancements and debuff challenge sets to make it really weak. Take a Fire Controller/Dominator or MM. Park them both in Warburg (if both characters are the same faction) away from people's sight. Let the pets/henchmen kill the character with self rez, have the character have the self rez on auto. Sure, you have to wait until the self rez recharges, but the rep/drop timer is there to prevent drops even if you could rez any faster.

    People leave that running overnight and make 2-3 PVP IOs a night. Not huge returns, sure, but still worth doing for the chance at a bucketload of inf. I personally know three people who do it.

    The only way I'd be comfortable increasing the drop rates is if we could make then Bind on Pickup, tech which we don't currently have.
    I'd hate you guys immensely if you did that, because it'd mean I'd never finish slotting my character with those enhancements. Having to rely on random drops for ANYTHING is painful; getting the five Panacea sets I want on my main? I'd just give up. While I do ocassionally PVP, I do that on my Blaster, and I don't want PVP enhancements on him; I want them on my main, the character I care about.
  7. Flippers are completely inconsequential if you're willing to wait a little.

    Chaos Theorems are going for 150,000 inf right now, blueside. I'm not crazy, so I'm not going to pay for that, and I know that flippers tend to lowball the price quite a bit. Straight from my logs,

    02-17-2010 11:31:29 You bid 20,000 total on 10 Chaos Theorem.

    They were going for 150,000 each in the sell history.

    02-17-2010 11:38:34 You have purchased Chaos Theorem.

    Seven minutes later, I bought a few for 2,000.

    02-17-2010 11:38:45 You got 3 Chaos Theorem.

    Did some other stuff, switched toons, and then when I checked the market again on that character:

    02-17-2010 12:46:09 You got 7 Chaos Theorem.

    They were probably bought quite a while ago, but I just didn't check for an hour. The market history at this point still showed all the sales for 150,000 inf. Flippers don't drive up the prices, impatient people who must BUY IT NAO drive up the prices.
  8. Thirding the offer to help. If you're on the Freedom server (or you can transfer there, it's free) post your character name and we'll have you up and running in no time.
  9. I'm a type D (crafter) and made 1.2 billion inf during this month (14 days and change). Type E (ebil) might make more, but when I can reach the inf cap in 20 days, I really don't see the point.
  10. Added your rolls, and 250 more from me. Might still need 2500 more before the bottom recipe in the 30-34 table appears 10 times...
  11. I play squishies who don't have much defense to speak of, so my "oh crap" buttons are Eye of the Magus + Elusive Mind. I slot for recharge, so they are usually up in about 7-8 minutes.
  12. Updated 30-34 with your rolls, Hell_Jumper. Didn't think we'd see any added until the Dual Pistols beta ended.
  13. Blanc, it's entirely possible that the invites will be sent in waves, and if you didn't get in this week, you might get in next week, or for the next wave of testing.
  14. Dang, this thread got long.

    Leo, how come it doesn't let you purchase them from the site?

    IP block. "Unfortunately, this item is not available for sale to your region from the NCsoft Store. We suggest you inquire with a local retailer to make your purchase."

    This is probably done to avoid stepping in the toes of local distributors, but it backfired because the local distributor here doesn't sell squat.

    AFAIK [the booster packs are] only available from the online store which immediately applies them to your NCSoft account.

    This means that if Leo can't access that part of the site himself, he'd have to give somebody his username/password to do it for him, which is never recommended.

    Yep, this is true. And you're absolutely right; it's never recommended. But I don't feel like I'm being given much choice here; if I want the Booster Packs, I have to get them through the NC store, and I can't access it myself. I could use a proxy server, but that feels several times more insecure than giving my login info to one person I trust.

    Have you tried to order the Mac Edition from the other company, gametreeonline? They don't seem to have the initial Mac edition, but they do seem to have the Architect Edition, for all of the Americas.

    I considered buying it from Steam, but that doesn't help me with the other editions or the booster packs. If I'm going to have someone else applying them to my account anyway, may as well do everything in one swoop.

    I hope everything works out for you Leandro, and sorry that NCsoft still hasn't done anything about making sure that LevelUp!Games carries their entire CoH lineup.

    It's actually Edusoft for Argentina; LevelUp! is for Brazil. Edusoft has not sold anything since the Good vs. Evil edition, and even that seems discontinued. The only reason I can get time cards from them is because they apply to Lineage II, the only NCsoft game they actually bother to promote and sell.

    Oh yeah.. and then costume code perks from live events, but those would have to be obtained from e-bay or something. lol

    Got one from a w00tradio contest, one from a SI radio contest, two from Twitter and two from a thread in the forums.

    Thanks for the replies, everybody!
  15. Since my local distributor has decided that they are not going to sell Going Rogue (and they don't sell the super boosters or have sold any version of COH since Good vs. Evil, really) I'm making a list of everything I missed to see if I can Western-Union someone in the US to "complete" my account. I'd rather do it all in one go when the GR complete version preorder becomes available in two weeks, so here's what I'm looking at:

    I have:
    * COH DVD Edition (VIP badge)
    * COV Collectors Edition
    * Good vs. Evil Edition (Pocket D porter)
    * Wedding Pack

    I need:
    * Going Rogue Complete Edition - $40 (includes free month?)
    * Architect Edition - $20 (includes free month and Cyborg pack)
    * Mac Edition - $20 (includes free month and Valkyrie pack)
    * Super Booster: Magic - $10
    * Super Booster: Science - $10
    * Super Booster: Martial Arts - $10

    So that's $110 total and it includes 3 months. Am I right? Anything I missed?

    Woohoo! I picked the right card three months ago!
  17. Just be glad you CAN preorder. The NCsoft distributor down here confirmed to me today that they have no plans to sell Going Rogue, just like they don't sell Architect Edition, Mac Edition, or any of the booster packs. The NCsoft store website blocks my IP, so if I want to preorder, I need to give my account details to someone in the US for them to do it for me.
  18. OP: if you happen to move to Freedom, shoot me a global tell at @Leandro, I can get you on a global chan that's pretty much always doing something.

    Monday down time

    My guess: this 8MB patch is just a couple of photos for some new AE guest arcs. The pictures for the featured author have to be added to the game's data files in order to be displayed. No new content whatsoever, not in 8MB.
  20. If we're going to be guessing titles, I'm going to go with Issue 17: Oooh, shiny!
  21. Search box has an option to only display characters who are not currently on a team.

    Yeah.

    Please? ^.^

  24. Or maybe an old style trial account (before all the restrictions) that just got activated. I used to have a level 24 blaster with the Celebrant badge on a never-activated trial account.
  25. Great job to everybody who showed up, we finished at 9:53PM! Not bad at all. We spent 15 minutes killing monsters, then had a 36-minute raid portion, with waves at 9:17, 9:29, 9:38 and 9:47. Superb raid!
