Yay, I got a cameo! (Showing off the 750-badge badge...)
-
They should work:
/bind F9 "cc 0"
/bind F10 "cc 1"
/bind F11 "cc 2"
/bind F12 "cc 3"
Or, if you're using emotes:
/bind F9 "cce 0 CCEvilLaugh"
/bind F10 "cce 1 CCLightning"
/bind F11 "cce 2 CCPrestoChango"
/bind F12 "cce 3 CCSpin" -
Congratulations, sir! Have this fine bottle of Casual Players Who Can't Purple Their Warshades tears. They're delicious.

Quote:Heh, I posted on that thread too, I remember it. Great idea for a badge -- however, the location of the AE building in Croatoa during i14 closed beta was on the beach north of the tram. It was removed because of complaints that it ruined the scenery...

Oh man, I love a lot of these! They'd work as real badges, too.

- The Google Chrome phishing filter caught it, so did IE's SmartScreen. People who don't disable those (and don't ignore the warnings) should be safe.
- WHOIS reports the domain was registered by one Liu Yong Peng in China; no surprise there.
- The server's IP is based in Hong Kong.

Congratulations! I'm 40 hours away from the last Day Job badge, and then I can sit comfortably in my precious pile of badges too. Until i17 hits, that is.

Something that might help is capping your frames per second. Add -maxfps 30 to the command that launches COH to prevent it from rendering more than 30 frames per second. That should make the video card work less, as it won't try to process as many frames as possible all the time.
Typing /maxfps 30 in the chat line works as well. You might even want to limit the FPS a lot, say /maxfps 10, and then increase the cap until you find the sweet spot that doesn't overheat your machine. -
Seeing how this only matters during Hamidon raids (if you disconnect during a ship raid it's usually not a big deal because at least you collected some vanguard merits by then), I believe the real solution to the problem is to create instances of The Hive/The Abyss that are private.
For example, have a buyable/craftable power that summons an Ouroboros-like Portal. People clicking on that specific portal are sent to an instance of The Hive or The Abyss (depending on faction), and the portal persists for, say, one hour.
Then, when organizing the raid, you tell the raiders you want in the zone "enter through the Hamidon portal in Boomtown, near the sewer entrance". Only people who know the location of the entrance can actually go into that raid, which prevents Hami leechers from finding the zone.
We have the tech to create zones on-demand to be accessed through portals -- look at the Winter event. -
Games are power-hungry. They drive the processor and the graphics card to the ground, and cause a lot more overheating than any other programs out there.
Assuming that your vents are not being covered and all your fans are working correctly, another problem would be the drivers. Recent NVIDIA drivers have caused overheating, so make sure you have drivers that are not affected by this.
You'll want to install SpeedFan in order to monitor your temperatures more closely. Make sure the fans are running. Run COH in a window and keep an eye on the temperatures; if you don't hear the fans turn on when the temperature passes a certain threshold, something may be wrong with them. -
Just to make sure it's not the game files, click "Verify All Files" in the COH updater. It might be a file getting corrupted or a driver issue (your drivers look very recent though, so probably not the problem).

Congrats, Sinergy. I'm a month behind you.

Quote:Incorrect. "Revenge reputation" works correctly now. If Friend 1 kills Friend 2, and Friend 2 immediately kills Friend 1, both get reputation.Unless you take 5 minutes between the time that Friend 1 kills 2 (first line, first kill), and Friend 2 kills 1 (second line, first kill); Friend 2 will not receive Rep for the kill, and all subsequent kills will suffer the same way. In fact in your example it is quite possible that the only Friend to get any Rep would be Friend 1 and all subsequent kills will be Rep-less.

I guess I'll take April 23rd. I should have found this thread sooner :P

The fastest way to do it is to get a few friends and kill each other. The rep timer resets every 5 minutes I believe, so 3 friends should do it.
Friend 1 kills 2, 3 and 4
Friend 2 kills 1, 3 and 4
Friend 3 kills 1, 2 and 4
Friend 4 kills 1, 2 and 3
At this point the 5-minute timer should be over and you can start the loop again, without anyone having to log off and back on. Make sure everybody has a ton of wakies so you can rez in the spot, otherwise travel will be an annoyance. -
Quote:It's been known to happen in the past; see threads like this one, from last December. When a mission repeats, /petition and a GM will sort it within 10 minutes. No idea what causes it, it just happens sometimes. After finishing the third mission, it automatically set a new mission, "Defeat base leader and guards" in the same spot. This was my first time leading a Citadel so I just figured it automatically set certain missions. So we ran that mission, and upon completion it set the same thing...in the same spot. Each time it was brand new, different map, full of enemies, just the same mission in the same spot.

That would do it. When the MM exploit got plugged on Live, I posted something in the discussion thread ("Yes, this is an exploit, and people who are using it ARE exploiting the system and have no grounds to complaint about an EXPLOIT being FIXED", basically) and my rep went down three bubbles in five minutes.
