  1. I'm all for this, like every time it's suggested. I'll deal with the inconvenience of conflicting global names and account names if it means I can play with the EU crowd whenever I want. We had a great time back in i10 beta when they got a bunch of EU accounts in the NA training room.

100 million inf takes a day in the market. Buy cheap yellow recipes whose enhancements are in high demand (eg. Crushing Impact), craft them and sell them. Takes about 600K to create each enhancement and they sell anything from 4 million to 10 million, depending on what you pick. Whenever I need influence I just do that and get between 100 and 400 million in a day, depending on how many times I reload the market.
  3. We don't know if the costs are final, though. This wasn't in the patch notes, so it might change before live.

    Here are all the numbers:

    - Common Salvage: 4 shards
    - Uncommon Salvage: 12 shards (8+Common)
    - Notice of the Well: 88 shards (40+Uncommon*4) + 100,000,000 Inf
    - Favor of the Well: 208 shards (32+Notice*2)

Using these numbers, the Alpha slot thingies cost:

    - Common Alpha: 12 shards
    - Uncommon Alpha: 32 shards (20+Common)
    - Rare Alpha: 128 shards (96+Uncommon) + 100,000,000 Inf
    - Very Rare Alpha: 480 shards (224+Rare*2) + 400,000,000 Inf

Please keep in mind, we don't know if the number is final yet. Just because it was visible on the Sneak Peek doesn't mean it's final. Let's have some civil feedback, not torches and pitchforks, please.
  5. The emote is currently in game, but you can only see it via demo editing. I believe it's MOV EMOTE_FACEPALM, but I'd have to switch computers in order to check.

If I recall correctly, that was one of the last animations Back Alley Brawler did, and he just got fired before it was given an actual emote name.

Edit: darn, Noxilicious posted while I was typing.
  7. From the Producer's Letter:

    Quote:
In addition to the Turnstile, we have also added something we are calling "Leagues." A League is a team of teams--up to six teams in a League, for a total of forty-eight players, and everyone in the Incarnate Trial is automatically added to the League for the duration of the Trial. There is a new UI to help track all these people, and you can do things like choose certain people to focus on--to watch them in a separate pane--so you can keep track of the health of the Tanks and Brutes, for example. We're pretty excited about this, and in the coming months we will reveal some more details on how you can use Leagues for things like Hamidon fights as well.
    OH HECK YES. GIMME.
  8. 1.) Mission Doors.

There's a door in the same boat Statesman is in. That door acts as a 'twin' of the submarine door for missions, and it allows entry when open. Try it next time, saves a lot of headache. See where my character is standing in this screenshot, that's the door:

    2.) Ouroboros Portals.

I actually posted a thread about it, and that's where I learned about the alternate entry. It would be nice to have it suppress near any ground-level mission door, but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon; the change might sound simple but it probably involves adding a power suppression bubble around every relevant door in the map.

    3.) Commas.
    4.) Anniversary Badges.

    Agreed on both counts.

    5.) Team Search Colors.

Agreed on the lack of information, the colors should show up in the /help window under Social/Teams. For the record, this is what the colors mean:

    Green: Same team as you.
Red: They have 'not looking for group' set.
Yellow: They can't be invited to team with you because they're on a mission map or in an arena match.
Orange: They're the opposite faction to you and not on a mixed team, so you have to go to their map to team with them.
Violet: They're the leader of a team with less than 8 people on it.
Pale blue: They're not on a team and you can invite them.
Grey: They're on a team but not the leader, so you can't invite them and they can't invite you.

    6.) Power Pool Customization.

Power Customization was Back Alley Brawler's baby, and he got fired in October. Don't hold your breath on that one.
  9. I stopped running the STF last week because it's just dang long. I logged in today, went to FF and almost instrantly formed a team; Khan done in 29 minutes. As soon as I got out, I hopped on another team: done in 27 minutes. As soon as that was done, yet another team formed in 5 minutes: done in 28 minutes. So in the time that it would take to form and run one STF, I ran three Khans. I'll get a lot of progress towards the badges this week.
  10. My character has 208.75% global recharge from set bonuses and Hasten. I want to calculate how long it will take for Geas of the Kind Ones to recharge; by default it takes 25 minutes (1500 seconds). If I recall correctly, it's: 1500 / 3.0875 = 485 seconds = 8 minutes and 5 seconds.

Except Geas itself is a 100% recharge buff, so for the minute it's active, I have 308.75% global recharge. This is where I'm likely to screw things up.

    For the first 60 seconds, I have 308.75% recharge, so 60 * 4.0875 = 245.25 "recharged seconds" passed. 1500 - 245.25 = 1254.75 seconds left; then 1254.75 / 3.0875 = 406 seconds for the rest. 466 seconds total = 7 minutes and 46 seconds.

    Is this correct?
  11. Honestly, I don't care about the animal parts as character costumes; but I can't wait to see those as new enemies in AE arcs.
  12. If you didn't get it yet and were planning to buy it, Steam has Going Rogue: Complete Collection for $30. This appears to be a permanent reduction in price, not a temporary sale.
  13. While I don't know the answer, maybe it starts at midnight server time. Try using /servertime to see how that compares to your timezone.
  14. Nobody mentioned the total lack of real numbers yet? If you took a power because it promised "moderate damage, medium recharge" it could mean anything and the only way to find out was to try it.

And the Terra Volta reactor trial was dang hard. The coolant belts glowies didn't work right, and if you were overwhelmed, no Shivans or HVAS would come to the rescue. I had a defender that needed the respec, so I did the first Terra Volta trial 24 times in a row, all failures, before deleting that character and starting it over because it was less painful to just level it again.

I got new glasses last month and darn they were expensive. My prescription went from 4.25 to 5.5. Not happy about that.

Anyway, the little disclaimer says "Enhancement values from slots only"; I took this to mean "it does not include set bonuses". Wording is not clear about specifically excluding the Alpha Slot enhancement.

I'd rather this was made an option. I want to see the full amount; if I wanted to see the pre-Alpha enhancement, I'd just... unslot the Alpha. I tend to rely on the popup for enhancement data while I have the Info/Effects/Total tab open, and now the ability to see the two things at once is 'broken' for me.
  16. Nice update. A couple of things:

The popup on powers is not taking into account the Alpha Slot; the enhancement only shows up in the "Enhance" tab.

The accolades are not taking into account global bonuses, for example, Recharge. I have 208.75% recharge, yet Eye of the Magus still says it recharges in 1500 seconds.
  17. I have run the STF a bunch of times this week; haven't noticed any changes.

About the tank: if you have an illusion controller and you're not so sure about your tank, have PA take the initial LR aggro and try to bring down the red turret ASAP. Even a weaky tank can tank him fine after the red turret drops. PA will take aggro like crazy, so the tank might not be able to pull LR out of them until after they despawn.
  18. I did the arc twice on the same character, because I was a villain at the time. It becomes a little bit of a larger story. Get ready for a wall of text.

It started when we got the free server transfers. I moved my illusion/rad character which was a clone of my illusion/empathy character to Freedom, while my illusion/empathy was hopping between servers. My characters perceived the whole thing as alternate-universe hopping, and I ended up with two of the "same" character, but with different backstories, on the same server.

Enter Issue 16 and the dopplegangers, in particular the storyline heroside where I meet a doppleganger and it ends up sacrificing itself. This was such a good match for the duplicate character I had from the server transfers, that I had that character die for real (deleted him); but not before trying to find someone who was very important for him in the other universe (server) and who got universe-displaced with him, a girl named Joy (Fortunata Joy being the name of a pet of an in-game friend who had just found out she had cancer, and no longer plays). At this point, my character is a pure hero, but promises to look for her.

And here comes Going Rogue, and my character finds out that the girl he's looking for landed in the Rogue Isles, and somehow ended up at Westin Phipps' haven looking for refuge. She has latent psychic powers, so Phipps arranged to have her undergo Fortunata training. What to do? Infiltrate Arachnos and free her, of course. Via the tip missions, my character starts soiling his own reputation in order to gain enough reputation as a fallen hero that he could have a shot at entering Grandville and gain a patron. The villanous deeds took a toll on him, but it was all just an act, so it was fine... right?

When he completes the switch to villain, he takes Ghost Widow as a patron and starts looking around the Fortunatas to find Joy. However, there's not a trace of her. Weeks pass, and the atmosphere of Grandville and having to keep doing villanous deeds in order to keep the facade is really messing my character up; but finally, hacking into Weaver One's mainframe, she finds her -- as a candidate for the Tarantula program. Her body's been broken, put an exoskeleton, and turned into a Toxic Tarantula.

Enraged, my character breaks into a Weaver cell and frees the Tarantula, whose brain has been badly scrambled. Exploiting the Patron program, he trains in Mace Mastery in order to keep her as his 'pet'. But he knows that Paragon City would not accept a Toxic Tarantula in his borders, and he's now very angry, so he goes in a Roaring Rampage of Revenge while trying to reverse the damage to her mind, at which point he does his most villanous acts.

This is when the Incarnate arc comes in. During his talks with the Well, my character just wanted more power in order to crush Arachnos and restore Joy's mind. But when he gazed into the Incarnate artifact, it turned into a hologram, a vision, of what the future held: Grandville destroyed, victorious over a dead Lord Recluse; but also Faultline [his home] destroyed, over Fusionette's body [my character actually LIKES Fusionette and the Faultline crew]; Atlas Park destroyed; the entire world burning under a new tyrant's fist.

That vision haunted his mind and his dreams, even after the artifact went 'poof' at the end of the arc. That's when he knew he couldn't keep doing that; he had to make amends and go back to the light. Rather than trying to find the solution for Joy's broken mind in Arachnos, he just started doing heroic deeds again, and taking her along. At first, after seeing nothing but destruction from him, Tarantula Joy was very confused; but over time, slowly, the heroic deeds started to make an impression on her. Eventually, my character turned all the way back into a hero, and was to get back his hero ID -- even though most of the other heroes were quite weirded out by the Toxic Tarantula, still wearing Arachnos' emblem, accompanying him.

And that's when I did the Incarnate arc again in the blue Ouroboros. Mender Ramiel explained that due to the effects of some temporal mucking-about, I had to travel in time and do basically the same thing again in order to correct the timeline.

This time, when my character got the Incarnate artifact and glanced into it, it still turned into a hologram -- kids playing with Back Alley Brawler in Gemini Park; Atlas Park full of new heroes keeping the city safe; Fusionette and Penny Yin eating Donuts in Faultline's shop; and Tarantula Joy getting her new quarters in the supergroup base of Power of Illusion, the weirdest member of the team for sure, but a hero nonetheless.

You are a saint. Thanks for the tip; worked just fine.
  20. I recently tried another game and their "trial" consisted of one tutorial mission, and one more mission. Afterwards, I was unable to do absolutely anything; would not let me go into any zones, get any missions, or even walk on the bridge of my own spaceship. In fact the trial was so restricted that it turned me off from the game completely.

I'll take the annoyance of being forced to do a tutorial any day.

  22. This has happened in every single one of the STFs I ran this week:

I would petition for griefing if the hero Ouroportal showed the player name who owns it, but only the villain Ouroportal does that.

I'm an illusion controller. Those "godlike" powers? Illusions I created. No real god power in me, even though others might believe that. If it makes criminals scared of my 'godlike' powers, why should I correct them?

They probably figured out the problem before we did, but we got it right: "it was because of a pet's pet inheriting the level shift attribmod".
