Uh. Not even 5 minutes online, and I already broke it? -
I'm from Argentina. Do you want to know what traffic in Argentina is like? This is a quote from Wikitravel guide which is spot on: "the traffic in Buenos Aires is extremely chaotic. Stoplights, signs, traffic laws... for many porteƱo drivers, are just suggestions. Picture yourself trying to get several thousand heads of cattle to move down the street and stay inside the lanes, and you have a decent idea of driving in Buenos Aires. The best advice? Take the bus! Otherwise, best of luck to you. Argentina has one of the highest motor vehicle accident mortality rates in the world."
Still, putting my seatbelt on is automatic for me, and I taught my nephews the same. I always drive within speed limits and respect all traffic lights. Just because everybody else drives like a lunatic (my own mother never puts on a seatbelt and doesn't even have a valid license), it doesn't mean I should follow their example. -
Quote:"Most"? That is simply untrue. Nearly all forum signatures fit into the specified size. Let's look at the ones in this very thread:I've gone around looking at forum signatures and most, in general, are 600x200. So because mine are 204x207 they are unacceptable?
* KayJMM: 230x118 http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/3084/minikitt.jpg

* Liz Bathory: 400x64 http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/282...zsebetlogo.jpg
I randomly picked another post, the "what would you pay for?" one, and found these:
* Chase_Arcanum: 550x120 https://sites.google.com/site/chasyo...hasebanner.jpg
* Commander: 530x116 http://www.arachnoselite.com/arachno...ng2010-med.png

I could keep going, but I only found 1 out of 12 that was above the size, and it wasn't anywhere near 600x200.
You know what the rules are. Why are you acting like they shouldn't apply to you? Just use the buttons Snow_Globe made, which are 120x120. Your idea is good, but the size just isn't.
By the way, just because others might not be complying with the rules, out of ignorance of knowingly, that's no excuse for you to ignore them outright yourself. That's like getting a speeding ticket for going 65 in a 55 road, and your defense is "I've gone around looking at other cars and they were going 70, so why is my 65 unacceptable?" -
Quote:I got this badge by using the accounts from 3 friends and repeatedly killing them in Warburg. Got the Supergroup badge for PVP kills the same way.I have already bombed Posi's PM box with this: but I'd be willing to throw down 5 bucks worth of whim-whams for the Disruptor/Longbow Warden badges. PvP is dead on my server, so my hopes of getting it the normal way are nil.
Since the game is going F2P, you can just open a couple of free accounts, level characters to 15, and do the same in Bloody Bay. -
That's most definitely a false positive. You should either add COH to the list of exceptions so NOD won't try to "clean" it, or get a better antivirus (Microsoft Security Essentials is my current recommendation; AVG and Avast have been adding bloat and more bloat recently).
"Heur" is short for "Heuristics", and it means the antivirus "guessed" that COH is a virus due to "suspicious behavior", most likely caused because the executable file changes with each patch.
If in doubt, send the presumably infected .exe file to virustotal.com to have it scanned by 42 different antivirus products. -
Quote:It has been pointed before, like in the case of the "Loyalist"/"Resistance" signatures. And in any case, now you know, but you're not making any moves to actually play by the rules; in fact, you are openly saying that you don't care about them. Please reconsider your attitude.I don't spend my days sitting and reading forum regulations to such finite detail to know offhand or to know instantly what an appropriate forum signature size is.
As for the "not a Photoshop guru" bit, all you have to do is say you'll replace your icons for appropriate-sized ones if provided, and I'll post 120-pixel tall versions of all of them for your use. But right now you are not giving any indication that you would accept such an offer. -
Quote:With all due respect, the forum rules apply to you too, and being all cheeky about violating them doesn't help your case. I'll direct you to last time we had a mass signature thing going: the "Loyalist"/"Resistance" signature craze that later had people using "Clueless"/"Television"/"Pantless" signatures.Or if we violate that rule the pillars of civilization will crumble?
When first introduced in a thread that I can't find at the moment, the signatures were too large. After it was pointed out, the signatures were reduced so they would be 120 pixels tall. The spirit of the signature craze wasn't destroyed by having the signatures resized to fit the forum guidelines, and plenty of people still use them. There's nothing preventing you to do the same.
Or will the pillars of civilization crumble if your signature images are the same size as everybody else's? -
Shockingly, I agree with Snow Globe (I guess it had to happen once). The forum guidelines clearly say, "Signature Images are allowed, however they must be limited to 600x120 pixels AND less than 150kb"
This is the size that complies with the forum guidelines:

Of course you don't need to unlock everything. Do you think I ever used Fairy or Cherub wings on my characters? Or anything at all from the Animal Pack?
I just want everything unlocked, even if I'm not going to use it. Which is why NCsoft will get a lot more money from me -- unless they decide to put the same dumb IP block they have in the NCsoft store in the ingame store. -
Quote:I just went to Test and counted again. I only see 15:Hmm. I seem to have 1 more emblem than you do. You might have missed one.
- Bar Code
- DNA

- Incarnate Interface
- Incarnate Judgement
- Incarnate Lore
- Mushroom Cloud
- Music Note 1
- Music Note 2
- Rune

Fixed. I got them confused with Trail Auras, but the mistake is only in there, not in the actual totals. -
I was looking for this info and couldn't find it, so I gathered it myself on the Test server and here it is for anyone who may be wondering:
- Ascension Set: 7 items @ 10 Astrals or 3 Empyreals. 70 Astrals or 21 Empyreals.
- Ascension Radiance Set: 6 items @ 6 Empyreals. 36 Empyreals.
- Auras: 8 items @ 10 Astrals or 2 Empyreals. 80 Astrals or 16 Empyreals.
- Trail Auras: 6 items @ 3 Empyreals. 18 Empyreals.
- Chest Emblems: 15 items @ 1 Astral each. 15 Astrals.
- Emotes: 4 items @ 10 Astrals or 2 Empyreals. 40 Astrals or 8 Empyreals.
- Costume Change Emotes: 5 items @ 3 Empyreals. 15 Empyreals.
In order to unlock everything, you have to spend one of the following:
- 205 Astrals + 69 Empyreals.
- 195 Astrals + 71 Empyreals.
- 185 Astrals + 73 Empyreals.
- 175 Astrals + 75 Empyreals.
- 165 Astrals + 77 Empyreals.
- 155 Astrals + 79 Empyreals.

- 95 Astrals + 91 Empyreals.
- 85 Astrals + 93 Empyreals.
- 75 Astrals + 96 Empyreals.
- 65 Astrals + 99 Empyreals.
- 55 Astrals + 102 Empyreals.
- 45 Astrals + 105 Empyreals.
- 35 Astrals + 108 Empyreals.
- 25 Astrals + 111 Empyreals.
- 15 Astrals + 114 Empyreals.

Quote:Communication Officers: in Issue 10, people discovered that they could provoke Communcation Officers in the RWZ into dropping a portal, hit them for a couple of points of damage and then fly away, and they would get full XP for the portal once it despawned. The portals gave significant XP to compensate for the spawned Rikti not giving any.Nothing for you: Communications Officers open Portals to more aliens, Death Shaman continue to "bring out their dead" until the moon turns blue, Malta has insane HP drones, the Carnies fantastic phantoms... all for the low, low price of... 0 XP/0 INF? Hrm, yet the Sky Raiders shield generators reward INF and the IDF's Orbs give Minion rewards? *puts 1 and 1 together and comes up with 1 big scratch of the noggin*
Death Shamans: way back in Issue 4, there was this mission from Unai Kemen full of Death Shamans. A fire tanker would herd them all to the middle of the map, keeping them far enough that they would summon zombies without getting close. The zombies would walk towards the fire tanker, who would have Burn on auto, defeating them and getting full XP/Inf. Once this was set up, it could go for the entire night with no supervision.
Lichen: you forgot this one. In the Eden trial, there's some "Lichen Colonies" that spawn infinite minions. Until issue 10, those Lichen gave XP. What changed? Issue 10 gave us the Vanguard HVAS, very tough pets that would last until you zoned, had long range attacks... and you could Group Fly them. A group would summon the pets, fly over the lichen (too far for their ranged attacks, but not for the HVAS) and watch the robots happily destroy the Lichen all day. Oh, I hear an objection coming; "the Eden trial ends after 3 hours!" Well, that's only true if you don't complete it. If you complete the Eden trial, you get "Mission Complete!" in the compass... and the mission timer stops.
Similar exploits apply to everything else that can be endlessly spawned and gives rewards.
Quote:There's no reason the Communications Officer in this case doesn't award minion rewards and his 5 (I believe there's a mob limit they spawn now?)
However, I believe those summoned Rikti are the same entity (and thus share the same rewards) with, say, these:
You see the problem. -
Quote:I would be extremely surprised if they did not sell a "2X XP for 1 Hour" inspiration or a "Two bars of Patrol XP" inspiration. Every F2P game with microtransactions has those, and we have the tech for both in place.Things I feel should never be sold for real money:
3. Experience and levels, or boosts to either of those. Under no circumstances.
But since the whole team matches levels to the team leader, I really don't care at what speed each individual player is leveling anyway. -
At least find poor BAB and gift him a new set of hubcaps...

Badges. In particular, I hope Celebrant is made buyable to accounts that are old enough. I started playing in May 2005 but none of my characters have that badge.
-
The in-game advertising was a flop, from what I remember. Only two ads ever made it to the client (one for Nike and I forget what the other one was) and then they vanished. I doubt they'll be bringing that back, but who knows. The tech is in place, it's only a matter of advertisers being interested in a 7-year old game.
-
If it works on Test, just wait until the i20.5 patch goes live. I doubt it'll be longer than two weeks.

Black Scorpion said during the Praetorian Surge events that we're getting another round of Power Proliferation in Issue 21. So I think Time Manipulation will be the only new set, but we'll see a lot of existing sets ported to other ATs.

In case you haven't noticed, this page has the new COH:Freedom logo in a nice and clean PNG, and a background image of Statesman about to flatten the face of a 9CU.

So, what to do? Well, this of course:
Now my aging COV poster finally has some company! -

Quote:I bought a Radeon HD 5770 specifically because COH said it would support it better with Ultra Mode. It's been almost a year and it still crashes when water effects are enabled. Plus I ran into a weird issue where the driver would crash on Visual Studio. I'm going back to NVIDIA next time I buy a card.Your best bet for help, other than buying an AMD graphics card, is to inform Nvidia of your issues: http://www.nvidia.com/object/driverq...assurance.html

Easy: the two characters with Bug Hunter.
