3) Spec Ops are limited to 1 per spawn point for generic spawns. There may be specific encounter groups designed with more than one, however.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been frequently seeing multiple Spec-Ops in solo missions on villainous, and these didn't seem like special missions to me.

4) The Sonic Concussion power blows through anyones Hold protection, but it only lasts 1/4 of a second. It is working as designed, however, I'll pass this to geko to see if it is too strong of an effect.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is most certainly too strong. 1/4 of a second is enough of a hold to drop all of your toggles. It takes more than 1/4 of a second just to get one of our shields back up, much less several toggles as you tend to need all of them to deal with the variety of damage types Longbow can throw at you. -
[ QUOTE ]
By far the most important part of this is that longbow are out right NOT fun to play against.
[/ QUOTE ]
Longbow are plain monotonous. Everyone has the same uniform, almost always the same weapons except for the rare Warden, some of which are overpowered . Not to mention that they are overused, nearly every contact from level 25 to 35 gives Longbow missions over and over. Why is Longbow so special? Where are the Wyvern and Legacy Chain story arcs in the 25-35 range?
I'd rather run Tsoo missions now just to get some variety after a dozen Longbow missions. Problem now is finding Tsoo missions. -

Carnie Ring Mistresses pwnzzz all.
[/ QUOTE ]
I had a big [censored] moment when running into just a Lt-class Ring Mistress during my Aura mission. [censored] is up with giving them a power that not only drains your health and endurance, but also kills your recovery and regen for over a minute? -
[ QUOTE ]
Slighty off topic here, but did anyone ever do that mission arc with the Prototype Nullifier gun? You steal it from Longbow, then go fight some FreakShow and Sky Raiders (i think) with it. The gun itself drains all their end, and I think dropped all their toggles as well. Kind of a hint at the Longbow's twisted future hehe.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, I took the gun and went to Bloody Bay with it for a while. Good thing it only has 5 shots because it hit 4 out of 5 times and was a 100% endurance drain. -
Redundant Post thanks to time eddies in forumspace.

[censored] is up with this forum?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I've made several posts and they all seem to have gone straight to /dev/null. -

Geez, where are you finding these wimpy Longbow? The ones I've fought have sonic debuffers, sappers, bosses that summon Phantasms or Singularities, and so many stuns that if you lack mez protection you might as well just read a book for the duration of each fight.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to mention bosses that stun through Brute status protections and radiation wardens that can totally debuff your resistances to nothing with radiation sickness. -
And the Energy Melee Wardens can stun through a Brutes status shields like they aren't even turned on.
And a Radiation Warden can debuff your resistances to nothing with a single debuff (Radiation Sickness). -
Add that a single Longbow Warden with Energy Melee can punch through a Brutes protection and stun him in one hit as well.
And a single Longbow Warden with Radiation can cast Radiation Sickness on you and totally debuff your resistances to nothing. -
Aside from concept, why pick anything over EM?
Because they want to.
Why ask why? -
Until we know that the epic power pools are going to be like it's not easy to write a guide that goes past 40 unless you don't plan on using the epic pools at all.

Funny how in your first mission from Lt. Dochesky (sp?) she says that Longbow is more by the book and Wyvern more prone to breaking the law just before she sends you off to frame Wyvern.
If that was remotely true (Longbow seems much more shady to me) wouldn't it be better to frame Longbow if they are percieved as the 'clean' ones? Who would really care about another Wyvern scandal, a Longbow one would be much more damaging. -
[ QUOTE ]
I believe somewhere they talk about how Miss Lib. named it Longbow for something along the line of them being out on the front lines, or something...
[/ QUOTE ]
Usually guys with Longbows stand in the back and provide suppressing fire. -
Wyvern are overpaid for the service they provide. Considering how easily I take them down I ought to raise my own fees.
-
[ QUOTE ]
What's more, for all but a few of them, their "super power" is that they're wearing Kevlar and carrying military infantry weapons. Is that all it takes to be considered a "tech hero" now?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm suprised those Minigun-toting Longbow Girls don't also have Super Strength attacks. You gotta be superhumanly strong to actually hold and fire a minigun without getting knocked into the next room from the recoil, not to mention all the ammo and batteries you have to carry.
(Yes, miniguns are not infantry weapons. They are vehicle mounted guns, even in Predator and Terminator 2 they had a hidden power cable and were using reduced-powder blanks for when they shot the scenes featuring the minigun.) -
Nice guide, but you keep referring to Fury as Rage. That can confuse newbies. Fury is the inherent power of the Brute archetype. Rage is a click power in the Super Strength powerset. Let's try to remember that.

Ballista is a Toggle Dropping *******!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, he is. He was designed to be as close to a Player Hero as we could make him. How do you guys like the Toggle Drop on him? Is it too nasty or does it add a nice challenge?

It [censored] sucks. -
Perfect. Mischa thought as she drew close to the unconcious villain. Still cloaked, she began to extract this energy and shape it into a entity itself, with just enough intelligence to tell friend from foe.
Now, go and be a nice little diversion. She mentally ordered it before hiding again. The small cloud of twisting purple flew off across the room and began firing beams of energy at the villains, occasionally sending one airborne. -
The Commando lost track of Mischa as she went around a corner and vanished in a flash of darklight. He held the quantum gun at ready and scanned around, then suddenly found himself unable to move.
Tendrils of dark energy wrapped around his body and the alien stepped out of the shadows, wreathed in twisting color. She was now in the form of a tall, thin woman dressed in a robe with a mask covering her entire face. Her bare feet padded the floor softly as she approached.
"Yes, this hurts like hell." She said as she took the weapon from his hand and threw it into the corner, destroying it with a beam protected from her hand. Then she looked back at him. "This with hurt too!" and he was launched through the air by another burst of energy.
Mischa cloaked herself in negative energy again and moved off to plan her next move.
(Sorry, but Quantum Weapons are a friggin' cheap tactic.) -
Mischa let out an unearthly roar and crossed the room in a single step as she teleported in the oncoming mob. The ground and air around her filled with strange light and the villains felt as if some of their energy had been drained away.
With another roar she smashed the machine gun turret and then started after the operator, her footsteps shaking the floor. -
Rush's assistance arrived a moment too late as the mob of henchwomen was lifted off of the floor and scattered in all directions by a blast of dark purple light. The Goddess looked at where the beam had originated from and saw an unusual sight, a hovering, dark purple, semi-transparent, squid-like creature. It floated down, it's tentacles lazily trailing behind it.
"What is a Nictus doing here? Or is it a Warshade?"
The flying squid swooped down and opened its mouth, firing another blast of purple light which knocked the Pixie off of her feet and sent her sprawling. It did a whimsical flip then came nearly to a landing next to Matamoros and in a mindbending display of color it transformed into a hulking yet still semi-transparent creature with glowing eyes that resembled some sort of bipedal rhinocerous.
"My name is Mischa," it said to him without making a sound, somehow speaking into his mind with a cheerful female voice. "and you look like you could us help more than that other guy right now." -

I saw this guy his hands tied behind his back and his feet stuck in a bucket jumping all over the dock.
[/ QUOTE ]
THAT'S my favorite one as well. We had a good time fighting the other guys as we watched him try to jump away to safety in his bucket. Golden...

I once followed that guy for a couple blocks as he kept hopping away up the street from the docks. -
"Mmmmm. Smashing time."
Best. Mission. Intro. Ever! -
And Update to the guide as it will not let me edit it anymore.
Brutes apparently have the same resistance/defense base of a Scrapper but the resistance/defense cap of a Tanker.
Today on the Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force I found that I was hitting a 90% resistance on Fire damage. With no shields I was taking 10 damage per tick from the lava, but with both of my shields, a Sonic Corruptor fire/energy shield, and both shields from a Thermal Corruptor I was only taking 1 damage per tick. -
Was just doing the 'Deliver Citizens to Vahzilok Surgeons" mission. When walking up to one of the victims, who was being held up by Skulls, he said "I swear, I didn't say 'Kill Skulz!'"
