Worse was the one where you had to rescue a dozen or so mages on an alternate world, and that Oranbega was crammed with Malta. Did I mention it was timed as well?

    [/ QUOTE ]

How about being down to one hostage left and then getting map servered while you were trying to find what damn corner they were hidden in.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oww, and I thought it was tense enough finding that rescueing that last hostage with only 15 seconds left on the clock.

    Whatever you meant, it's nice to see someone that's heard of the game, Neocron is great, but I couldn't stand how long it takes for the devs of that game [Or is it dev now? Poor company lost coders and staff like crazy *sniffs*] to release patches for horribly broken mechanics. Still, I'd be back there in a heartbeat if *synchronising* wasn't the most common word in the game... and the population of the english servers went back to 400+ simultaneous players. ^^;;

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not to mention it's non-existent US distribution when it came out. Talk about wasted potential.

I want a mayhem mission where you fight 50 Professor Echos.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't forget your knockback protection. My pre-acrobatics DM/FA Brute got killed three times in a row when Echo and Aeon chain-knockbacked her all over the lab.

These are the same people who brought us Striga Isle and Croatoa.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And the same people who made it so just about every other mission from 10 to 40 in CoV is either Longbow, Circle of Thorns, or both.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Mayhem Missions will be versus Longbow.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [censored] dammit!
  7. That's only if the many-worlds theory is true.

Out of curiosity...does anyone actually LET Aeon run? Just to sully the timeline even further I always do what I can to take out the runner first.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Huh? I've never had him run, every time I've done the arc they both attacked me together.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I say this using the example of Ballista, (before they nerfed him due to massive Toggle drop whiners (I thought it made him more fun and challenging)) who dropped toggles with his attacks, like pvp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except players in PvP don't consistently drop all of your toggles with every single ranged and melee attack, like the original Ballista-1 did. The whiners were quite justified.

Forgot about the difficulty slider people...

But at least you have a contact that sends you to one of them (assuming you're making a character from ground up)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not in CoV, unless they changed something recently.

I do not like the idea of having to work first to unlock the content through some mostly unrelated action that isn't even made aware to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, like why does defeating the Ghost of Scrapyard unlock Crimson Revenant? Why do you need the Obessessed badge to unlock Johnny Sonata?

And while Slot Machine is a fun contact, why the heck do you need to kill two hundred Marcone bosses to unlock him. I had to street sweep greys in Port Oakes for three hours to get that badge so I don't see how anyone could be expected to get that badge during normal leveling.

The contacts are also vague about their requirements. Slot Machine, for example, just tells you to kill Family. Doesn't say anything about it requiring specific types of Family mobs.

The only one who isn't so annoying is Archmage Tarixus, he only requires a history badge that you can get from reading plaques on the first few islands and he is pretty clear about that.

Also, it'd be nice that once you found a locked contact they would be added to your contact list, even if they won't offer you missions yet. It'd make it much easier to find them again afterwards.

My brute has been insta-killed by high level Longbow Wardens (that were only +1 in level to me). This is NOT working as intended. The Longbow Wardens were more lethal than the Hero (Binary) we had to take out in the mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Now for more screwieness.

I fought Agent Bell two nights in a row, he's an Elite Boss Ballista.

This Ballista is weaker than a Warden. I am serious, while my teammates were getting one-shot by Wardens in my original example, a Mastermind and my Brute killed this +2 Elite Boss without coming even halfway to dying. Not even his pets got hurt.

Something is very odd when the Bosses of a group are more powerful and dangerous than their Elite Bosses and Heroes.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Looked at it very quickly. It seems soem Warden's attacks are not reporting battle spam for certain attacks. I'll add it to my list of things to fix.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Castle, you are the man! Please tell me though that it's not "Working as intended" for a +2 boss to have holds that bypass a Brute's status resists.

    [ QUOTE ]

Interestingly enough, the guy with Dragon's Tail doesn't have this problem. I'll look into it more when I actually get to the task.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Could he be Criticalling? It happened so fast that I didn't see if it said it, but I have had Tsoo Bosses Criticalling their attacks on me. 560 damage * 2 would come very close to my total HP.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
but are you sure you just had a single Hold on you?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, the Warden was the only one who could hold in the spawn. We pulled him into one of the narrow lab doorways. He hit me with Crush and I floated up into the air and died before he finished the casting animation for the cold.

Crush was the only attack listed in the Combat Log, which I had cleared before the pull to cut out data from the previous battles. It didn't say anything about my toggles dropping before I died either and the animations for the shields was still on as well.

It specifically listed the damage received between 500-600 (forget the exact value.) I have over 1300 HP when at full health, which I was at right before he attacked.
  15. This is based on one mission the other night, haven't had a chance to recreate it yet.

This is not about the Spec-Ops EMP grenades, though it is still BS that they drain more end and more reliably than a Malta Sapper and are also AoE.

This is about Longbow Wardens dealing double or more damage than the combat long reports. It's about Wardens holding people right through their status shields as if they were not turned on.

In one mission, the team is 38-39, three of us are Brutes, the rest MMs and Corruptors.

One several occasions the Brutes were one-shotted, at full health, right through their shields. This by bosses only 1 to 2 levels above us. We went through the combat logs to see some odd things.

A Martial Arts warden killed me and another Brute with one hit of Dragons Tail. I was at full health, Fire Shield and Tough turned one with three green resist SOs each. The combat log says she hit me for 560 damage, yet I was taken from 1300 hp to 0 in an instant and I can see that no one else was hitting me at the moment.

That's the first WTH moment of the mission.

Then later a Gravity Warden holds me through Plasma Shield as if it was not even turned on, which it was. Then I go from full health to zero in a instant. The combat log says Crush dealt 500 damage to me. No one was attacked me and that Crush sure as hell did more than 500 damage.

I've filed bug reports but I wanted to see if another others were seeing level 40 Longbow Wardens doing things they should not be doing.

    Thanks for the link, Awry.

Now can you tell us how likely it is that those of us who play characters with tails will ever be able to wear a toga without undergoing involuntary amputation?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Either cut a hole in the toga/tunic or keep your tail under wraps like other body parts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One, they won't let us cut a hole in it, just like the robes.

Two, it's not easy to just tape our tail to one of our legs, it gets rather uncomfortable.

So no togas for catgirls and demonesses then?
  17. Lazarus

    Toga toga toga!

    ARGGGGGH!

You can't have a tail with the Toga!

Devs, please stop discriminating against the tailed folk.

It allows you to hold meetings, write memos, and demand TPS Reports for one hour.
