  1. I've only played my Thugs/Dark to level 4 and haven't taken the Punk yet, just was having too much fun with my pistol powers. I really was a full Pistols primary now.

    As for the gun, they do sound a bit weak for what they look like. However, they do good damage against minions, just once you run into Lieutenants the damage falls off sharply it seems.

    Most of the animations look good, the pistolwhip replacing Brawl was sweet, but for the crying out loud, why do we have the stupid sideways gangsta grip in there? Some of us want to look like we actually know how to handle a firearm.

    On my 3 foot tall character the guns look like they'd break her wrists with their recoil.
  2. Yeah, but this is a big blow to soloability. Not to mention that the heros don't have to jump through these hoops to get their APPs, and far as we can tell from the numbers provided these Patron Pools do not look like they are really worth the trouble to obtain.

    It wouldn't be so bad if they finally changed it so that when a Hero/AV is scaled down to Elite Boss status they would lose their uber mez resistances. Elite Boss accuracy is screwy as well, when I pop four lucks I should not be still hit 9 out of 10 times by the EBs attacks.
  3. As I feared, 40-50 in CoV is gonna be a EB/AV fest. I'm stuck in the Scirroco arc because he wants me to fight Silver Mantis, then Baracuda, etc. Silver Mantis is a [censored] at 40, shredding my DM/FA to bit even with 4 lucks running.

    I was hoping I could get to 50 without tripping over a unsoloable foe every other mission.

    Yeah, I see no reason why a mayhem mission set in Atlas park couldn't have level 40 PPD and Longbow in it.
  6. Another bug I forgot about. While everyone else in my mission was 42, I ran into level 24 guards inside the jail.

    I also agree that the doors take way to long to destroy, my Dark Melee Brute nearly ran out of endurance breaking through and that was with Stamina and endurance reducers in all attacks.

    Another awesome thing, I got to fight Police Drones and win this time. Revenge for the time I was dropped in Atlas Park back in beta!

    Really, MA, EM, and DM all have the lamest Assassin Strike compared to the coolness of Claws and Ninja Blade. Not to mention the sets should all have a unique assassination animation as a signature move of sorts.

But seriously, I suppose the Longbow ambushes make sense, PPD calling for anti-super backup and all (though I did notice they had a lot better stuff that Longbow does), but Longbow guarding the BANK? How'd they get the tip-off? A police Captain on patrol checking up on the bank as you 'just happen' to rob it makes a lot more sense to me then a Longbow Warden with his whole team in the vault.

    Agreed. Part of it is I just hate level 40 Spec Ops, but the bank should have guards in it, not Longbow just sitting around drinking soda or whatever waiting for a villain to show up. When the robbery begins the Police should arrive, but Longbow should not show up until the Hero arrives to stop you as they should be there to back him up.

    For the guy who had Manticore show up, did he come with Longbow or did he bring his Wyvernn homeboys?

    I don't know about that. My Relentless Mayhem mission had a regular boss but he was buggy in that his shields were way to strong and he summoned pets nearly 10 levels tougher than himself.

    That was annoying. Even if they take no damage they should get knocked down when I punch them. Could've had some extra fun dunking them into the canals in Founder's Falls.

    If we can't attack the civilians then please make them untargetable. That and objects should be exempt from the Target_Next_Enemy and Target_Previous_Enemy commands as it makes Tab almost useless when you have to cycle through dozens of objects to target the people actually attacking you.
  14. Mine was a level 40 mission from The Brit in Grandville. It was a 14 minute bank robbery in Founders Falls. It was set to relentless and it was tough, even for a Brute.

    The only reason I ended up in jail was because of those damn spec ops emp grenades.

    I busted out and broke out the villain, Silent Blade. She did ignore the door and attacked the longbow who tried to come and stop me. However she would not follow me out until I finished destroying her door, even though she was already outside it.

    She was very helpful though against the Longbow boss that was inside the bank vault.

    I played with the "vicious" setting and it spawned some bosses. I think my hero was boss. What setting were you playing on?

    I got a hero and he was nasty in the bugged sort of way.

    Holo Man was lvl 42 yet summoned a Spectral Terror and Phantom Army that were both level 51! I burned through all my break frees to keep from being terrorized. Then his dispersion field required three keen insights to hit him through it, so the Stalker pet was useless in that fight. I have two accuracy SOs in every attack, so that is a ridiculous amount of defense he had for a +2 boss.
  15. The attacks are missing some sounds. Charged Brawl and Havoc Punch have the electrical sounds, but lack a actually punch sound when you hit your foe. It just doesn't sound right.

  17. I can understand Stalkers getting snipes to fit into that whole assassin thing, but if they critical from hide it is going to open a giagantic can of worms with the 'NERF STALKERS' crowd.

    What I really don't get is why are Brutes setting a pet for a 4th tier pool power?

  19. Problem I have is not just how similar they are, but a lot of these pools have powers that are redudant to certain primaries/secondaries in the AT.

    For example, my /Traps Corruptor is Tech so would logically go with Black Scorpion, except that the web and shield (defense) powers don't provide anything I don't already have except for a hold and a pet. I already have defenses and immobilizes on my own. I might as well break theme and go with Scirroco as Power Sink and Charged Armor (a resistance power) sound far more useful.

    Same thing with my Dark/Fire Brute. Ghost Widows Brute pools doesn't give much that I don't already have, like another tentacle power? Again Scirroco's set wins for having more useful sounding powers.

    I'd bet that Ghost Widow and Scirocco will be the most often taken Patrons. Mako and Scorpions offerings just don't sound that good and Mako's look plain silly anyway.

    Then there are the pets. I'd much rather have something neater like a Gremlin for a pet than a Mu Adept when using a electrical mastery pool.

    No it isn't, this is people flipping out over a post level 40 choice that cannot be changed without rerolling your character.

    Uhh, WTH are you talking about. The Terra Volta Trial wasn't in CoH beta, it came in Issue 2.

  23. Patron Pools are losing their attraction if they're permanent. Looks like I'll have room for those powers I skipped after all.

  24. So getting a Patron Pool involves doing an arc? What happens if I decide that I don't like that patron and want to respec into a different patron pool later?

    Ironically, the contact for the Arcano-Bomb is a "hidden" contact as well, so that doesn't count for much.
