  1. ((Really Leo, you need to give us some clues to work with, not just expect us to make stuff up until we arrive on something you decide fits.))

My major disappointment is when people are posting like crazy in thread ABC and thread XYZ is not getting any attention.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Especially when both threads have mostly the same players.
  3. I rarely have any time to play on weekends, as weekends is about the only time I have to do anything not related to school or work and those things have a higher priority than posting on the forums.
  4. I've never seen them in here once, never seen them post ever outside the art section period. I guess they just have a lot of artist friends as I don't see why they're so special that they get all this fan art. They have some good costumes but I don't think they're so good that they deserve all the attention that they get in the art section.
  5. "Oops." Naga said simply as she noticed the nails in the underside of the board she had pried up.

Still, something was odd about that smokey smell. It was sulferous, like gunpowder, but there was an odd element she remembered smelling before.

Pulling out another tool she began scanning the area again. There was something out of the ordinary with the immediate atmosphere, but more interesting was that for some reason the gravity in this spot was slightly higher than in the area around it. The difference was hardly detectable and on a decline towards Earth normal.

"There was a portal here." She said. "They always muck with the local gravity."
  6. Naga entered the theatre hall and lept onto the stage where Ian's mother had been at the time of her disappearance. She went down on all fours for a moment, sniffing the floor like a bloodhound and looking about. She drew a small device from her belt and aimed it at the floor. It emitted what appeared to be UV light, but to everyone else it did not reveal anything they could see.

Her eyes were a bit different.

"They use smoke the detect man said?" She asked, already knowing the answer. "I smell it. Also see residue of footprints."

Looking about the floor again, she noticed a very well hidden seam in the floor. It was in the shape of a long square. Jamming her dagger into the gap, she managed to pry open the trapdoor in the stage floor.

"Where this go?" She asked Ian, looking down into the darkness below.

((I hope that's ok, pretty much having to make it up as I go along.))
  7. And you had to line up to get into Perez Park, because it was the hottest place to be.
  8. Naga gave the detective a look he would have a hard time reading, but among her own people it would have been recognized as patronizing. Humans generally couldn't read the element which her tail added to body language. "Your robot maybe ruined trail then. But I may still find something."

"May I see the place?" She asked Ian again.
  9. Naga had been silent this entire time, but spoke again in a hissing voice. "May I see where mother vanished? I pick up trail maybe."

After all, she was a huntress with a sharper senses than most humans, and with a few extra gifts of her species.
  10. Aten is the short-lived god that Mechanogue was talking about when Egypt had it's brief monotheistic period. He was a sun god.

Atum, or Atem, was the predecessor to Ra in the polytheistic egyptian mythology. Eventually he became Atum-Ra and then just Ra.
  11. Naga faded back into view, standing on a branch nearby the one Jase had been on, and resheathed her swords. Dropping to the ground with hardly a sound, she walked up to the crowd and asked what was going on.
  12. Naga's eyes narrowed as she located the target. She quickly faded from sight as she told hold of the grips of her swords.

Yes, haven't you heard? Egyptian God is the new FOTM.

    Why didn't anyone tell me!
  14. Good luck. I made AH101 after bailing out of SV101 for those who which SV101 was 'too evil' for. A few other characters jumped ship as well and AH101 is still going while SV101 is defunct.
  15. Chemistry was always my best science subject anyway, which is why I'm studying to become a chemical engineer now.
  16. Actually I did very well in it for two years. Was a pretty easy A for me, it's just that I found that it was not something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

When I took it we had computers and CAD programs in high school. I only did a small amount of drafting by hand in middle school.
  17. Fortunately for Essex, her signal did not have to go very far in space before being answered. The main ship came in on a fast approach from just beyond lunar orbit, releasing a smaller dropship as it swung by the Earth before returning out past the moon.

Standing on the ground, first she saw the glowing streak of a meteor, which appeared to be coming down towards the estate. After a moment the glow faded and the vessel became all but invisible against the night sky until it was nearly to the ground.

The ship was an elonganted arrowhead of about 10 meters long colored metallic black, with landing legs unfolding from beneath as it set down to the ground with a soft rumble which came from no visible engine. The boarding ramp lowered from the underside and its sole occupant strode out.

The name she had adopted on Earth was Naga Obscura, meaning the hidden serpent, and it was easy to see how that came to be. She stood just short of six feet tall on bare, clawed digitdactyl feet and had obsidian black scales on the skin which was not covered by her leathery bodysuit. Her disturbingly wide mouth filled with sharp teeth was offset by dark red hair tied into a rather childish-looking pair of pigtails. Her goggles were resting on her forehead, just above a pair of large copper-irised eyes.

Strapped to her waist and back were a pair of sheathed swords, one long and one short, as well as a set of throwing knives. What appeared to be a small wearable computer was built into the sleeve of left arm.

Naga walked up to Essex and looked the little android in the eye before speaking in a odd tone of voice which featured much hissing and clicking of the tongue. "You rang?" She asked.
  18. Mine didn't require you to take PE after sophomore year, so I substituted it for an extra elective my last two years.

At least that allowed me to find out that I didn't enjoy architectual drafting after all before I got to waste any time on it in college.

That, or the 5th Column are outright taking the Council back over. That would be a heck of a turnaround, albeit not an unwelcome one. The Council is painfully lame.

    Yes, no more COBRA wannabes.
  20. My alien Stalker Naga Obscura is of a species I had designed for a sci-fi story I had never gotten around to writing more than a chapter of.

In fact, I wrote more on just the species itself so I'd have a reference to keep myself consistent and thought of everything from basic physiology, behavior, social structure, and technology. One of the main characters was from this made-up alien race so I needed this info.

I had written it like an entry for some Encyclopedia Galactica so I could insert excerpts of it into the story at times when an infodump seemed appropriate. I had started doing it in the first chapter by opening with a quote from a fictional astronomical journal that gave some brief info on the planet the protagonist was visiting at the beginning of the story.

So for the record, despite the scales and other reptilian features Naga is not a reptile. She's warm blooded and has a lot in common with humans and their primate ancestors when it comes to what is under the skin. She is a carnivore and cannot digest plants and fruits much at all. She's used to a much warmer environment, which is why she wears a bodysuit while on Earth.

    Heroes Tonight

Wrong forum. This has already been announced to death over in the Comics Culture forum, where announcements like this belong.

And for the record, I don't plan on watching it myself.
  22. Back in beta I had Protector Bots named Pusher and Shover.
  23. I thought you were saying that the Bull is single-action, to which is but it is not single-action-only.

I love my XD-45. I was going to get a GLOCK before I discovered the XD series that Springfield Armory is importing. Looks better, better safety features, excellent reliability, and not many handguns carry 13 rounds of .45 ACP in a normal-length magazine. The XD-45 didn't win two Handgun of the Year awards in 2006 for nothing.
  24. I don't like .41 Mag for the same reason I don't like .40 S&W when choosing between 9mm and .45 ACP, it feels like I'm half-assing it on power and accuracy.

Kathode used the Raging Bull .500 Magnum once in AH101, but trashing Reikoff's sapstick during the Malta Raid was pretty much a lucky shot. I didn't have her bring it on the trip to the abandoned lab since it would have been an unfair advantage.

Oh, and Taurus Revolvers are Double-Action/Single-Action so 3 rapid shots is possible if you have enough strength to pull the trigger that fast three times. At least all the ones I checked out at my local shop where.
