I marked one of mine as Challenging and it has little to do with the AV at the end. It's because while anyone should be able to solo it with enough care the customs are designed to make you actually think about what you're doing and be aware of your surroundings rather than blindly mashing buttons on anything that moves.

I'd like to see where the Rikti sleep.

I always assumed it was that room in their caves with the big hive-shaped structures full of little cubbyholes. -

How can I make a set of click objectives, only one of which actually matters and the rest do not, such that it doesn't display the total number of objectives to click?
[/ QUOTE ]
What you need is two objectives.
Example:
Name one Computer and name the others Computers.
Computers do nothing, only Computer will let you finish the mission. In their "Singular" objective name, call them both "Find the correct computer". Bam, one correct computer, several fakes and one objective.
[/ QUOTE ]
You could also get away with naming the correct one detail "Computer" and then a detail with multiple copies called "Computer ". The player won't notice the space but the MA will consider the two to be unique names.
It gets a bit tougher to keep that going if you do what I did in one mission with several bookcases that each give different clues but only one is the required objective with the correct book. -

PO really does not bother me that much.... its a small zone, and easy to get around in pre-travel-power.
[/ QUOTE ]
And also the two ferries, Pocket D, and the new Black Market are all in the same little area.
The Black Market in Mercy Island never made any sense: it's in a crappy spot and usually I've already moved on to Port Oakes before even getting my first recipe/salvage drops. I hated having to go back there from Port Oakes to sell, the lowbie market should have been there instead from the beginning. -
I want a friggin' permanent jetpack already, preferably a choice between the types we have in the game and some ones exclusive to the booster. Rocket boots don't fit all costumes and concepts.
Put in the jetpack and I'll actually be inclined to buy it. -

Haven't played my other trap toons since the change to poision trap. I really liked the set before the change, but without the hold from poision I didn't seem to have the protection I did before the change.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. If it was really just procs that were the issue there were better ways to deal with that rather than breaking the entire power. Now you're lucky if it manages to hold minions even.
Several months later and it's still broken, just as expected. Of course since it was a little-used set to begin with any chance of a real fix is probably several issues away. Rather surprises me that Defenders are getting it ported over at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
With my current slotting I can still hold/migrate a lot of damage, but not like I could before the change and needs a lot more slots and different IOs. Yes the procs broke the set. I agree with Amy_Amp, the set is still good, just not the glory I used to have with the set.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's the same reason I don't play my old Invuln toons anymore or have rolled any new ones since issue 5: I can't stop thinking about how much more awesome they used to be and it gets depressing to play them after having their wings clipped. -
No, you cannot edit the powers of standard critters.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Having just played Blight, I'm putting in a vote for that too. It's nothing short of a crime that you can't find that one on the arc listing here on the boards.
[/ QUOTE ]
Never heard of it before now. -
To quote the loading screen tip: "You can't do that, yet."

Sometimes I wish more players started out Redside, where AT "roles" are much more open to interpretation, and everybody's expected to contribute heavily to offense. Then, when confronted with Blueside ATs that seem to correspond closely to traditional MMORPG standards, they'd be able to more quickly recognize how much more potential and flexibility all ATs actually have.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your views interest me and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
What is funny is the bluesiders who complain that redsiders don't know how to team and blame the villain ATs for being too vague. -
Anyhow while on the tangential topic of lizardgirls, go play "The Portal Bandits" (Arc #3326)!

Cause they look like hedgehogs, while the Platypus looks like nothing else on the planet.

Reptiles with navels?
[/ QUOTE ]
Since they already appear to have mammary glands, an umbilical cord isn't all that much sillier.
[/ QUOTE ]Well, there is a theory that in humans the appearance of breasts has nothing to do with lactation functionality, and more to do visual cues related to how human reproductive activities tend to differ differ from other mammals*, so it's possible that reptilian humanoids might have a similar adaptation.
*The theory is that human breasts are supposed to resemble the curved shapes of the buttocks as a visual arousal trigger/cue since humans tend to mate face to face, unlike other mammals. No other mammals have an equivalent buildup of fatty tissue on the torso or mammary glands.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or it's just because video game artists tend to be male. -
[ QUOTE ]
As others have said, the OP states possibly what can be considered the classic roles, and some people get very upset when they're not followed.
[/ QUOTE ]
The proper response is to laugh and poke them with sharp sticks. -
It's a stupid accident and the author not only fixed it but apologized. This isn't the Mars Climate Orbiter burning up in the atmosphere of Mars over a unit error, that was inexcusable idiocy. This was a simple oversight in a video game. Even the Devs make these sort of dumb mistakes, anyone remember that level 35 VEAT mission with a level 40 boss? At least this got fixed within days rather than weeks/months.
Authors are human as well and the MA interface is very buggy. Yes, they have labeled level ranges yet have the same damn name. When that detail is minimized it will show the name but not the level range. Sometimes I have had things get messed up because MA will often register you clicking on a menu that was supposed to be hidden or minimized and you won't notice the accidental change unless an error is thrown up on the screen or there is no error and then you play it and see this sort of thing. -

Striga. No reason to go to any of those zones, ever.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wha? Striga has 4 great story arcs and two of the most enjoyable TFs in the game!
[/ QUOTE ]
Only the Hess TF is fun in my opinion, I've only run Moonfire once and didn't see much point to it other than using the first two missions to get the Vampyre and Warwolf badges. The four story arcs are OK but they're too damn long. Also while the zone has a trainer that almost no one else uses it lacks a hospital and a store. Having to go back to Paragon to sell off your salvage is a minor inconvenience, but dying and getting sent all the way back to Talos/IP is just aggravating.
As far as the Hazard Zones, the Devs really need to get back on the program of revamping one hazard zone per issue. They managed to do it for three issues (Faultline, Rikti War Zone, Hollows) and then just stopped. Look, I know that going back to fix and update old content is not as fun or sexy as making new content, but at some point you need to actually fix the old broken stuff instead of trying to bury it under new shinies. The heroside is really showing it's age with all the pre-issue 6 content. -

Never much liked Croatoa.
"Okay, so I've saved the city from cybernetic gangsters, flying mercenaries, and evil wizards from the dawn of time! What's next?"
"Pumpkins, lawn gnomes, and bipedal mooses."
"..........."
I want to rename it Goofy Halloween Land.
[/ QUOTE ]
That was my response when I first saw it in issue 5 beta. That and "How the hell did my Tank just get her [censored] kicked by a bunch of gnomes?" -
[ QUOTE ]
Skimpy outfits. I'm pretty sure some of you know my attitude towards nudity (well, Lothic should at least). That said, the problem with wearing skimpy clothes is that they are nothing more than body paint. Female models are already awful (where's the belly button by the way?) and outfits like Eden that lack any "substance" to them produce the effect of an animated, painted plastic doll. It's not alluring in the least and results in the uncanny valley effect again.
[/ QUOTE ]
We need more clothing like the newer Tank Top, which has enough texture to give the impression that it's a actual shirt rather being painted on. That whole "painted on" issue is why I avoid so many costume items and stick to leather, jackets, shirts, pants, skirts, and armor.
As for the belly button, you can see a slightly shaded spot on the abs where it should be. Strangely, if you put the Reptilian top texture on a girl she has that same spot as well. Reptiles with navels? -
All of mine are soloable. I'm a bit too busy to list them all here so just search under @Lazarus to find them in MA.

[ QUOTE ]
I was sorely disappointed when this happened to our team running this arc. How could something so simple that should have been painfully obvious during thorough test runs be overlooked?
[/ QUOTE ]
Very easily. I didn't know about the bug where Carnies do not spawn below level 40 for heroes until a friend stumbled upon it. Why didn't I see it in testing? Because 1) it was a villainous arc so most of the time I tested it with villain characters and 2) I didn't have a hero character who was below level 40 who would have seen the bug anyway.
A lot of these spawning bugs never happen unless you happen to fall under the exact conditions for them to occur. I had over 50 ratings on that arc before anyone stumbled upon that bug and reported it to me.
There is also the issue where the code that should allow a critter to spawn up to 5 levels below their minimum level (and be reduced to that level) is not working. Example is my level 20-25 arc, where a level 20 player got a level 25 Totem because apparently that scaling code did not apply to that critter at all. Didn't notice it myself because once again I didn't have any characters low enough to see that bug occur.
When you see this kind of thing happen in an arc, just don't rate it and let the author know politely. Chances are he/she is not trying to gank you and being rude to them and 1-starring the arc over a bug is just uncalled for and makes you the [censored] in such a case. -

Exactly! None of those things got patch notes! That's my point, I had to wait to hear that my arc didn't work from people who wanted to try it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Some of mine were invalidated but didn't even get flagged as such when I checked the list. Had to run them to find out myself.
They really need to do a better job of that and a tell informing the author would be very, very nice. -
[ QUOTE ]
Players were using that fact to exploit the MA by using the generators to kill spawns, thusly earning them XP without much effort.
[/ QUOTE ]
And apparently it was easier to just remove them than to make it so that the damage done by the generator reduces the XP you'd get, like how it works with Allies and Escorts who deal damage. -
[ QUOTE ]
What really bothers me about RIs thematically is you have these ships coming to attack a city full of Heroes and nobody but nobody (except in very rare circumstances when someone gets dozens of people together; and this almost never happens) flies up to challenge the ships and take them out.
Mechanics-wise this is because the ships are too powerful. Make them Elite Boss level instead of Giant Monster or whatever they are right now. I want to see people fly up and start taking those ships out every time the Rikti invade. That's what should happen in a city of Heroes.
[/ QUOTE ]
And then other people would get mad that they cannot get the bomb badge because the bombers keep getting shot down. It's annoying enough trying to get 25 bombs in a singe invasion even if you have a team, the other two badges on the other hand are very easy to get. -
[ QUOTE ]
Im interested in arcs that use complex mechanics in telling their story. Chained objectives, non-standard use of Allies, Bosses etc, interesting use of animations, that sort of thing.
