No, this is more like everyone taking Indomitable Will and Instant Healing no matter what their AT and powersets are.

So the Devs are holding an MA contest while continuing to break MA at the same time. Figures.

Quote:These two concern me as where really is the line between in-canon and non-canon? Is it still considered in-canon if I use CoH groups in the arc or does it have to have canon NPC as the contact as well? If the arc uses an entirely new custom group and expands on the existing lore is it considered in-canon or is it automatically an original story due to the custom group?
3. Best In-Canon Story: The best arc that builds on and enhances the existing lore of City of Heroes in Mission Architect.
4. Best Original Story: The best arc not based upon previously published City of Heroes lore or characters. -
Quote:Sort of, this issue also happens in Oranbega maps but what's happening is that the layout of the collection spawns is inverted on the map. So take a map that has 10 middle and 5 back collections. If I put 5 in and set them to back, they will appear in the middle area. If I put 5 in and set them to middle, they appear in the back area. If I put in a 6th or 7th and set it to middle, it they will show up in the middle area. Some of the small Tech and Abandoned Tech maps have the issues you described: boss and escort placement works fine, but collections reverse middle and back. In my tests of these maps at least they were consistent, if wrong: "back" collections would consistently spawn in the middle, and "middle" collections would spawn in back, as long as there was room for them.
Apparently the Back is covering part of the Middle but the Middle if covering the Back and the remainder of the Middle. The only way to have middle collections show up in the middle is to fill up all the middles that are in the back area first. I discovered this by experimentation before the spawn points were put on the map and I was trying to figure out what was going where. When the spawn points were added to the map it confirmed my suspicions.
If this ever gets fixed I hope it gets mentioned in patch notes so I know to fix my arcs, cause I have a lot of missions that are affected by this bug. -
100%, was this supposed to be hard? The only one I was any bit unsure on was the Aggro Cap and only because I don't play Tankers.
Also, what is with all the typos? -
I've played on Virtue since CoV launched and can count on one hand the number of times I got locked out of Virtue due to excessive load.
-
I do Mercy until level 5 and then jump ship to Port Oakes until level 10. You can rack up quite a few merits from those early arcs on the redside.
-
The Escorts used to work properly, it was broken sometime during issue 15.
-
Yeah, this is annoying and another way that farmers affect everyone else. I used to have a guy at the front door who gives you a clue when you free him but he's supposed to wait and guard the door, not follow you around. I also have an escort who is affected too as she will not exit the map no matter what the setting, once you get to the door she counts as "objective completed" but keeps following you anyway.

Quick Review
Arc ID: 70801
Arc Title: Simple Times
Author: @Justice Blues
Morality: Heroic
Length: 5 Missions
Description: Talshak has called you in to handle a small problem in Kings Row. Nothing major, just the same old, same old. At least, that is what you both though.
Quicky Review: While it does pretty well as a standalone arc, it just doesn't seem to work as an installment in the "Future Skulls Trilogy". Particularly as they don't show up until the very end and are revealed to have been behind it all, but some other group could have easily been in their place. As such, it is connected rather weakly to the series and doesn't feel like a true installement that progresses a multi-arc story.

Beer doesn't make you fat, it's scientifically proven!
Now as for all that stuff you tend to eat while drinking, well... -

This spawn wackiness was already happening in issue 15 though. Oftentimes on Diff 2 I would get maps where every spawn was a Boss and a Minion.

Quote:Not only that, but what if you're submitting for Best Custom Group and your group doesn't all fit into a single arc and/or spans multiple .cvg files?Um, the .critter and .cvg files are integrated into the .storyarc file. And honestly, given the number of revisions since MA came out (thanks to updates, group changes, map changes, item changes, etc.) I don't think any of my original files like that are particularly close to what's "live" now. Why not just have the .storyarc file, unless you're looking at the villain group category?
What about multi-arc arcs? (part1/part 2?) -
-
The only problems I've seen is that ambushes are much bigger under "2x villains" that they were under Malicious and that there are WAY too many cops in the lobby of the Kings Row bank when you're soloing the mayhem under "1x villains" conditions. There should not be a dozen PPD standing shoulder to shoulder waiting to aggro on you all at once in a level 10-14 mission.
Quote:I HATE it when this happens on that setting. I want a boss at the end of the mission, not a boss every 10 feet.
Settings:
Level = +0
Number of players it thinks i am = 2
Bosses = Yes
Findings:
On certain missions in story arcs i have noticed that roughly half the maps mobs consist of 1 boss + 1 minion, which correct me if im wrong isnt WAI. Though it is a welcome change and i do personally like it like that.
I also found that even if I turn "Fight Bosses when Solo" off, they will still show up often in their LT forms instead of having regular LTs. -

Quote:I was just saying that if you found them too difficult for a little more than one mission, you probably won't enjoy fighting them for 4 missions. At least with the same character.the irony to Lazarus' statement is that I *have* attempted Portal Bandits, and couldn't get through it - I did want to try it again after hitting level 40+, although if Lazarus would prefer I didn't, I'll respect his wishes... so do let me know
However, "The Portal Bandits" does not include the Assassin LTs (DB/Ninjitsu) that appeared a few times in "A Show of Hands". (There are a total of 6 in the entire arc.) My little avatar here does appear at the end as an AV but you're given optional backup in the form of two boss allies. -
Quote:Merits? For my own part (note: purely anecdotal evidence warning), I know I've played through Azuria's missions, Kalinda's story arc, the Bonefire arc, the Striga story arcs, the Croatoa story arcs, the RWZ story arcs, Westin Phipp's story arc, Seer Marino's story arc, all at least 5 times each. Some of them maybe dozens of times. But for the most part, the PvE content isn't as cool as the best of the AE content. So why do I keep replaying it?
Just throwing that out there as it is one of the main reasons all my new lowbies are doing their lowbie arcs instead of AE. For some recipes merits are the only way to get them (either they're too damn expensive or not for sale at all) and TFs can be too inconvenient. On the other hand, I can easily have 50-75 merits by the mid-20s just from running regular canon story arcs. -
Quote:Unfortunately, the next mission is not marked as "active" until the leader enters it so many people don't even know that it is up and can be read. By then everyone is rushing into the mission and giving you little/no time to read.Sure you can. You just need to click on the star next to the active mission description, or on the "more" button if you're looking at it from the drop-down menu of missions the team (or character) has.
That said, there are several text entries that aren't viewable by anyone but the team leader, so it is still a big problem. -
"The Extadine Lab" by @Vanden
It's a single fun mission and the only AE that I've played over a dozen times. (Largely because it's so short.) -
The only AE teams I've been invited to were still farm teams. Sure the mission had minions and LTs but it was still an obvious farm.

Quote:This would be amazing. I follow the review threads, I make notes, but I'd love this feature.Quote:If this is finally implemented, after I've only been saying it should have been this way from the start to anyone who would listen for three bloody issues now, I'm going to dance the I Told You So dance for days.
It would help a lot of good arcs that are in that humongous 4-star region to get noticed.
