I received a dozen new plays on MacGuffin Delivery Service but not a single comment, and since my nominations in both contests were announced on the same day I cannot tell which affected it more. All I know is that once the official contest was over that arc stopped receiving new ratings.

Quote:Agreed, the nominees are already being forgotten in general. The Devs didn't even put an announcement here in the MA forum itself listing them, it won't be long before that list gets buried deep in the Announcements forum. Right now nomination doesn't even have a consolation prize.I agree with this final statement completely. As it stands now, the fact that an arc was a nominee is virtually meaningless.
If they're going to tease the nominees with possible DC status then I hope they do it in a timely matter and not take weeks, if not months, to do so. -
Quote:Arcs that are more than 5 missions are common on the blueside, and to be honest most of them are way too long. 5 missions is about the point where I just want the story to wrap up already so I can move to something else, especially in MA since I cannot "pause" and arc and go play another one for a bit.I certainly think that multi-arcs in the MA may be victims of their creators ambition when it comes to contests and Dev's Choices. I find that a little funny concerning the vast majority of CoH content arcs run more than five missions and there are many multi-arcs in the game.
I prefer redside arcs because they're more compact and don't waste time on redundant nonsense missions like "go check out 3 labs with 1 computer each (in 3 different zones)" instead of "1 lab with 3 computers". -

Today's patch sort of fixes this issue but you still need to republish the arc yourself to get your global name back in the author field.

Quote:Translation: Hello choir, I'm gonna preach at you now.Based on the quality of the spelling, idiosyncratic writing, use of repetitive gimmicks, etc., of a couple of the winning arcs I've run through, I don't think the decision was made based on technicalities. It seems unlikely anyone was penalized for not including one of the files if the judges thought the arc deserved to win.
Preference seems to have been shown for arcs that are constructed like short stories rather than missions. Intentional or not, arcs that won were diametrically opposed to farms.
Personally, I prefer arcs that are well-written and work well mechanically (i.e., don't waste a lot of the player's time running back and forth between levels looking for multiple chained spawns of bosses and glowies, or using enemies that have powers that totally hose the vast majority of characters). If someone wants to run through the mission completely ignoring the story they should have as much fun as someone who hangs on every line.
The thing to take away from this: think of it as a short story contest instead of mission contest. -
I think there may have been a few good points in there, but my eyes hurt now.

Can we get the damn name bug fixed already? I'm tired of some of my arcs having the wrong author name because I didn't know about the bug when I went to edit them. Heck, even some of the new DCs are effected by it, I hope for them that it won't be permanent.

It's amazing how hopelessly naive the Mods are, time and time again.

Changes made to "The Amulet of J'gara":
* The AV version of Mindskewer no longer has Confuse due to spamming issues. It has been replaced with Mass Confusion, which has a much lower accuracy and a much longer recharge. -
Quote:Far as I remember, only Battle Maiden is stated to be from outside Praetoria. I figured that the others simply spread out since apparently one planet was not enough for them all. That reminds me of a huge continuity gap with regard to the Praetorians:
The Primal Earth Phalanx and Vindicators all are from Primal Earth; but, many of their Praetorian counterparts each have their own 'World.'
Wha?
If Portal tech is something they just discovered in Praetoria, then how did Tyrant hook up with all these goatee-counterparts from various dimensions? -

I still want the ability to drop outleveled arcs, or just those long as hell hero ones that I've gotten bored of and don't want to run 10 more missions from so that it won't count against my active arc limit. I wouldn't even care if I forfeit most or all the merits, I don't want to go back and do missions full of grey-cons anyway.

That's just the helium delivery truck. Ever wondered why gravity applies to us but not it when we get to step outside the club?

Just be aware that the rather squishy Dom is going to be taking a lot of aggro compared to the Stalker. That is the main reason I stopped doing such duos a long time ago.

All Drakule arcs now carry the Lazarus Seal of Approval!

I'd rather that every zone had a reason for going to it rather than a choice of a zone I will spend a lot of time in and another that I will never touch unless required to because the contacts in each offer the same missions anyway. Given that choice the zone with the least unnecessary travel will win out every time. Talos will always win over IP for me as it rarely sends me way out into the boonies for no good reason (while IP will do so just from the way that the zone is laid out) and I'll also have quick access to Striga, PI, and Dark Astoria without crossing an extra zone first.
