I could see it justified if they were actually relevant to the zone they gave you, but at least with the villain tips I've seen, notably in the 30-40 range, the flavor text will be all "X event is going on in Y zone", and the zone I'm sent to isn't the one that is actually mentioned. I'd go so far as to guess Tip locations are still fairly buggy, rather than simply an oversight.

Ya'll did remember to fix the Ghost spawn rate this year, right?
Please? -

No, I'm still pretty sure it's EvilGeko's fault.

Touche. This is true. And like I said, I'm happy for that. No, really, I am. I love the Tips I've run so far and the fact that there are new ones is, right now, looking to be the best feature on i19's list to me.
I should've said "story-advancing content" or something like that, though I suppose there's nothing that says the new Tips might not involve that as well. It's all semantics, and the bottom line is still a matter of the idea that there's still plenty to be exciting about! -
So it from the sound of it, the new Fitness is an Inherent pool, rather than four additional inherent powers like everyone's been suspecting? Meaning the only difference is that the powers can be picked up earlier without prerequisites, and don't count towards the four pool cap? I am totally not knocking this and love the idea 'cause it'll still make the lower levels a lot nicer (while making it less necessary to figure out how to respec all my characters!), but am I totally misreading the blurb there?

The Fitness power pool is now an inherent power pool available to all new and existing characters starting from Level 1. Players can freely choose between any or all of the Fitness powers for available character power slots. These powers can be slotted and will accept the appropriate Enhancements.
Beyond that, I'm really happy to hear about new Tip missions, and sort of hope they get expanded in terms of scope as well (for example, being able to do "Rogue" tips in Paragon would be kinda nice). The new animations sound like they might be interesting as well.
I'm a touch disappointed all the new content is in the form of Task Forces, though, but I'm willing to cope, I suppose (so long as they're better than Barracuda, at least!). -
Bah, you know what, my brain is totally fried and I completely misread your post. I'm just gonna pipe down now. I need a nap or something.
Upshot: I haven't noticed any real problems, only a toning down of the exploits. -
Quote:...not completely. I'll leave it at that so as not to spoil too much. Not only is the Faultline arc confusing in that Temblor/Yin will stop giving missions at 20, but won't introduce till 21, but Delilah, Sands and Nocturne will act as though you've met before, which for a swapped Praetorian is physically impossible.
I do agree that expanding Jim and Penny all the way to the 15-25 range would be exceedingly nice. The only caveat, I think, would be Penny's first mission, since Vahzilok don't extend into the 20+ range. -
Well, there's no chance of getting it out before Halloween, which probably means they'll use that late November window we had with i8, i11, and i13. That probably means a Closed Beta/feature list before the end of the month, but I wouldn't expect anything new and concrete until early November at this point.

Quote:There was, like, one or two scenes of it spread across twenty-something episodes. I actually thought the way it was handled was pretty good. There was just enough foreshadowing, just enough going on behind the curtain, that when it gets exposed, it really floors you. In the manga, the fantasy element is so constant that it's never really anything special. In the anime, the couple of times it does happen, it really manages to elicit a "OH CRAP" reaction. The original Berserk anime would have been better if they kept that ending out of it. They removed quite a few supernatural elements from the story, then surprise you with this ending. I am not sure if there was any supernatural elements in the anime aside from the ending. The original anime worked better as a standard historical military fantasy.
I agree that something should have been done with the ending, rather than just the cut away "and then he survived somehow and is out for revenge", though if they used the "original" solution, that probably wouldn't have worked either. -
I generally like the sounds for both the Sonic sets. In fact, to me, they're a big draw of playing the sets. Though, I sort of wonder if the alternate animation system can be used to incorporate alternate sounds, though. It just seems...I dunno, appropriate. If Martial Arts gets a variety of fancy moves, shouldn't a "sonic" set give some options on noise?
I'm not sure that's something that can even be done, but it'd be a neat idea, perhaps. -
My answers may come off a bit wishy-washy, but hopefully, they'll be helpful to you:
Quote:Male1. Are you male or female?
Quote:2. What ATs do you mostly play, and for what reason(s)?
Quote:3. Redside, blueside, purpleside, or any combination of the above?
Quote:4. What are your favorite story arcs?
Quote:5. What makes you like this game?
Quote:6. What other games do you play?
Quote:7. How long have you been playing?
Quote:8. How many alts do you have, what is the average level range, and how many are level 50?
Quote:9. Do you bother with softcaps, set bonuses, and all that numerical stuff? What difficulty settings to you normally use? -
See, I have the opposite problem. I use IOs on most of my characters, and I use sets for Frankenslotting, but while I have put the time and effort to get a few my alts really twinked out, I simply have so many that if I tried it with all of them, I'd spend more time playing the market than playing the game. So I'll see things on the boards here especially with someone saying "I need help with and X/Y build", and I'll be all, like "Oh, X/Y! I'm pretty familiar and comfortable with those sets! Maybe I can help!" and invariably, it'll be a question about the best way to soft cap, or something similar.

Did Barracuda die in the first mission? IIRC, it's working as intended for you to have to redo the mission until she lives through the end.

Ashtray is burn/bomb and thinkbox is office?
There are those guys in one of the early missions saying they're going to "ashtray" a guy's "thinkbox", I believe. The context makes it sound a lot less friendly than simple arson. I always got the impression they were going to put a bullet in his head, making his skull (a box for this thoughts) into an ashtray (a small, often empty dish). -
There's a 30-35 arc, though I don't remember if it's Alan or Hamilton who gives it (I think it's Alan). Like most of the other VEAT arcs, it's only like two missions long, and probably even less relevant to the story than the rest, but I can tell you it's definitely there, as it's memorable just for who you get to fight at the end.

My experiences with Noble Savage actually lead me to recommend reds over purples, just because his Regen is obscenely, brokenly, stupidly high. You'll probably still want a couple purples, though. Regardless, taking on Mr. Noble and achieving success is honestly going to depend at least a bit on luck as well.
The good news is that most of the times you fight him, you only actually have to get him to half health. The bad news... -
The Praetorian version of my namesake character uses Demon Summoning as a stand in for Illusions. As he's a psychic, he's literally pulling peoples own fears out of their heads and attacking with them. He even repurposes "in character", claiming to be an actual demon summoner to avoid any bad politics that might come with being labeled a "dangerous psychic".

Quote:I ran a mission where Siege could also use it, though thanks to being halfway through Maria's arc when i18 hit, I'm not sure if it's his arc mission or a standalone. It's a boss of the Imperial Defense Force. You meet them in the level 40-45 and 45-50 arcs in PI where you fight Praetorians. I'm drawing a blank on the full names of the contacts, but Tina and Maria. I think the arc names in Ouroborus are "The Instant Army" and "A Hero's Epic".
My poor, poor Shivan... -

Quote:I think the shades of gray come along the lines that everyone of significant power outside the established government is pretty ruthless and evil, too. Both sides have exceptions but in large number of cases, it's the devil you know versus the devil you don't.This is kind of a small problem with Praetoria, the devs wanted to see it all in shades of Grey, but everyone of significant power in the established government (Manchard the exception) is pretty ruthless and evil (The Praetors, Cole, Etc.), not helped when they've explicitly established that the old Praet arcs ARE Still canon, this is just moving along on the timescale with the Praetorians attempting ANOTHER invasion of our world.
Oh, and there's the whole "brainwash the citizens" thing.
