I do the Domination thing you talked about, but that's it as far as limiting myself in that regard.

For my characters, I just have to make sure I don't use certain powers however tempted I might be. But is there any advice to 'hard limit' by costume?
Consider placing all the powers you can use in one "form" one power tray. Create a bind where switching to that costume will change to the appropriate power tray, perhaps?

And a freebie question: Would the option to customize powers further by costume, so much so that you can lock out powers (or lock them in), be of interest to anyone?
    Not really.
  2. Cool, thanks guys. Guess I'll be making effective use out of those Range bonuses I have!
  3. Specifically, Battle Maiden:
I've done two Apex TFs in the last two days with my Fortunata, who I generally play hover-blast style. In both, I've pretty much stuck to that. At the end of the one I did today, someone mentioned that the blue patches would harm the people on the ground underneath, even if they were in the air.

On the flip side, when I've flown underneath them, they didn't harm me, and heck, it seems like when they -Fly me, by the time I'm on the ground, they're not hurting me (handy for survival, really...).

So can someone confirm where, and when the nanite swords inflict their massive damage? And how they're supposed to do it, if they're buggy at the moment? Because a little clarification would help either clear my conscience, or at least keep me from causing invisible death to rain onto my team.

At least one of the animal heads that I saw on test (IIRC, it was the lion head, but I seem to remember it wasn't just the one), clips fairly significantly with the chest anyway, so I'm not sure "clipping issues" is a valid when it's impossible to use the head without clipping in the first place.

In terms of effect art, at least, I'd say the Void Judgment could pass for such pretty well. Doesn't really explain why the nuke-crouch or why it's targeted on you, though. Or maybe it does. "Oh crap, I pushed the button, INCOMING!" *ducks*. Maybe something like that?

I think the fact that, in the game, we were able to beat them in a one-on-one setting basically indicates that there was another way to become not only as powerful as them, but, in fact, more powerful.

Nah, everything he posted is straight out of the sneak peek.
  8. I always thought that was meant to happen on the mission where you rescue the defector. Sort of a "NO ONE ESCAPES NEMESIS" statement made, with the intent that the mission gets failed. Granted, I think the whole concept of missions where you're meant to fail is pretty horrible, so i do sneaky things on it, but that's neither here nor there.

Never seen it anywhere else, but I wouldn't complain if I did. 8 Fake Nemeses are a better fight than 8 Nemesis Lieutenants!

    Poison. Fix it!

Seldom, unless I'm mistaken, it sounds like you're saying just to make the -Regen in Envenom stackable, but the -Regen is can already be stacked, though the -Def and -Res cannot.

Clicking on CoH changes what you see in the launcher. Would it be that hard to add the EULA to the "City of Heroes" section of the launcher? Not rhetorical, I'm actually curious. Would it?
  11. My very first alt was a Fire/Ice tank. I deleted him and remade him a number of times so the "original" one isn't around any more, but the character does still exist. The latest incarnation is a few years old at this point. Sitting somewhere in his late 30s, and gets very little play time.

Actually, I'm half inclined to think Prometheus might be the letter-writer. "Or depending on when you read this, you may have just seen me minutes ago." In other words, doing Ramiel in i19...we haven't met him yet. Doing Ramiel in i20+, minutes ago. Cagey, Prometheus. Cagey.

And, hands up, who here trusts the letter-writer? Hmm? Anyone? Anyone at all?
  13. Apparently, it's in Studio 55. I saw a message of such when claiming a vet spec, IIRC (or maybe trying to use a Freespec when I didn't have one).
  14. Well, I admit that based on the sneak peak: The Lambda Sector trial is hella fun, and if the BAF is anything like it, I'll enjoy playing it (but I'm not gonna test it yet, I wanna keep some surprise for live!). So my hopes that it would be "like Apex" are pretty much justified, I think.

I'm a little disappointed by how little is earned with a single raid, though. As it is, it seems like there'll need to be three raids each just to unlock each slot (and maybe get a common?). Even as fun as it is, I fear that may get real tedious, real fast. And it's a real feeling of non-achievement.
  15. I like it. I'd especially like it to see just little touches of flavor (more or less like we have in Tip missions now) into Praetoria. And I love the idea of linking difficulty to higher level rewards, since there really isn't much reason to crank it up, currently.

When ya miss, Geko ya miss, but hey, I'd say this one not only hits, but knocks it outta the park.
  16. Death is just a part of the game. Everyone makes mistakes. While I wouldn't call a bind like that out-and-out funny it does paint something that might otherwise be annoying in an amusing light. If someone gets their knickers in a twist over it and does think you're being rude, they're probably taking themselves a little too seriously, and most need the laugh.

That said, I also agree with those that say seeing that every time it goes off would get annoying.
  17. I'm pretty sure you only have to mention Hickman once.
  18. I never even knew there were missions missing. That certainly explains why there are three identical hunts back to back.

After a series of recent disasters following a change of software standards at work, this is the sort of thing that sends me into high anxiety mode, especially with the way people portrayed this particular launcher back when the announcement is made. Some of the comments I'm seeing in this thread are fairly reassuring, though.

Has there really, ever been a major feature in an Issue that wasn't in the Issue's press release?
It seems like we (as a group, not you and me particularly) go through this every time a new issue gets announced.

    *Announcement lists X new features*
    Group One: "What, that's it?"
Group Two: "There might be stuff that's not announced yet!"
*Issue comes out with X new features*
    Group One: "What, that's it?"
Group Two: "Why'd you expect anything other than exactly what the announcement said it would be?"
  21. So if I use the NCSoft launcher once, and then burn all traces of it and go back to the normal CoH launcher, do I get to keep the aura?

There's a normal university in Cap. The other Abandoned Lab is in Port Oakes. And yeah, they're both fairly handy.

Because when it was introduced, it was well developed and interestingly used. When it returns it's just "the wanna conquer the multiverse lol". I like the 1-20 Praetorian arcs. Nay, I love the 1-20 Praetorian arcs. And it's exactly the fact that they're so good which makes the fact that the invasion "story" is so bad all that much more scathing.
  24. In this scary new Inherent Fitness world, I kinda like the fact that Boxing's more or less a useless prerequisite, as it's something I can take that's not going to require any slotting.

But I can see where "I like it because it's a useless waste" might mean it's seen as problematic, by some people.
