Hmmm, weird idea, but let's say my buddy and I decide to make a Time Manipulation duo. If we hit each other with Temporal Selection, are we still buffed extra by each of our own Time Manipulation effects as well?
-
Not that I'm doubting you per se, but if a big part of the set involves Recharge buffs, and pets aren't affected by those...well, I guess I'll have to see for myself this evening.
-
By basing the choice on the wide variety of content, powersets included, and the far more economical price? I paid $30 for GR and got 1-20 arcs, side-switching, Incarnates, etc for that value. At last word, we were looking at $10 for a single powerset, which means that for the style-conscious, things like individual animations carry a bit more weight in the total bang/buck ratio equation.
-
Quote:Have things like people wanting to be able to preview attack animations and the like been taken into consideration with the for-purchase powersets? Will they be selectable and then buyable like costume pieces, or will they be grayed-out and unable to even be looked at like the GR sets? You'll be able to test Street Justice, for a very limited time, once we allocate points. Time Manipulation and Beam Rifle should be available as well. I can't confirm that 100% as Clockwork O1 has gone home for the evening.
Guessing the latter, but I can speak for myself, at least, and say I'm a little hesitant to put real money into a set when I don't know what it looks like. -
Quote:Maybe it's just me, but the "muscular" look of the costumes to me just looks, well, like it's part of the costumes. The Archer-style minion is the only one who where it looks like the costume is contoured to the skin; the lieutenants and bosses all seem to be wearing what looks more like armor. It's not so much that the mages themselves are all that buff as they where buff looking clothes for intimidation purposes. For all we know, their real bodies are floating in there, are only five feet tall and weight less than 100 lbs.Cut down on the spikes, lower the muscular definition and loose the armor in favor of loose clothes and you've got something. That spiky tutu just really doesn't work. A thigh length robe similar to but slightly longer than the martial arts robe would work much better. They're mages, not warriors so they use their magic instead of their muscles. They'll be slender or slightly overweight but they aren't going to be ripped and cut.
-
Quote:Yeah, that's precisely why I liked the female models that were posted. It's always seemed weird that the Circle just snatched bodies left and right, and despite that, were always old men.Ooh, I'd like to see this. Plenty of CoT rooftop victims are female, stands to reason a body is a body when you haven't had one for thousands of years...
The new costumes, I do think, seem baggy and image-obscuring enough that while they're clearly using the game's male skeletons, most of them look like they could pretty easily be either gender, though, so I won't have a huge cow if we lost our Thornettes. -
The Thorn Casters and their pope hats are a leeeeetle bit silly, but overall, I like 'em. I absolutely love the obscured faces on the new bosses as well.
Two questions:
1)Fire Thorn Casters? Going away? Left off the picture? And though it's not a costume question, are the Thorn Casters going to get mixed up a little bit, rather than one per level range?
2)The leaked photos included some female minions, which is one of the things I actually did like quite a bit about the revamp. Are they still around, or were they dropped to focus on fixing the costumes in general? -
Quote:I would totally love to see a Keyes team that was coordinated enough to finish the second and third reactors (or at least the second, since there's no need to clear enemies) before Anti-Matter can show up. That'd be one finely tuned machine, there.Keys is an awesome Trial if people would pay attention to what needs to be done. I bet alot of people dont know that u can secure the reactors BEFORE Anti even shows up. For that to happen would take the ultimate lvl of cooperation.
That said, people seem really bad at following directions on Keyes. I don't know if it's because the variety of, and consistent changes of mechanics makes them too confused, or they don't care, or people just don't remember to add League chat, but it does seem to be the case.
I was on a Keyes earlier today that was going for Bunker Buster, an attempt that everyone discussed and seemed to agree upon before starting, and where both the leader and others repeatedly told people "Only [NameA], [NameB], and [NameC] should be attacking the bunker doors". Of course, about half the League then started attacking the door at another bunker. -
Quote:Flipping that around, I don't see why letting someone respec their powers at level 6 would do anything other than allow a person who did make an oopsie save an hour or two.I'm sorry but I can't see how anyone can screw up a build so badly before level 6 that they need unlimited respecs let alone 1 respec.
/signed, simply by virtue of it not really having any reasonable downside that I can see. -

Quote:I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case. That said, it would be nice, given that it makes very little difference in terms of general play. I've already done similar things to the OP with no real regard for the fact that it mucked with that little icon, but it'd be kinda neat to have it match. There are four things that, to the devs, define a character - primary, secondary, AT and origin. I *suspect* that Origin is baked rather deeply into the code from back in alpha, where it actually made a difference (how many powers you could take and how far you could advance them.) So it might be one of those "far more difficult than you think" items that would break... well, a surprising bit.
(I personally don't care one way or the other. Just throwing a theory out.)
There would have to be something done either about enhancements, or to restrict changing a bit, though, otherwise Yin-Os would become more than a little nutty in the early parts of the game. -
Quote:Not sure if you're confused, missed it, or if this is just sarcasm...because the first time Anti-Matter shows up, there is the big warning letters screaming "DAMAGING HIM INCREASE DAMAGE FROM THE PULSE" or something very similar. Granted, there are so many other needless warnings that it's very easy to just sort of phase it out, I guess.Too many times during Keyes I had to stop because I was too confused to do anything. If someone hadn't warned me not to hit Antimatter, I would have unloaded on him. And y'know what? The game would not have told me the harm I was doing! Complexity can be fun, a challenge is a challenge, but this is just stupid. How about a freakin' warning? Oh, that's right, the warning would take up half the screen with text. And if this is what I have to look forward to for the rest of the endgame content, then I'm done. I've doe Keye's once, and I doubt I will ever do it again. There is just too much crap flying around and not enough time to explain all the subtle nuances that are killing you.
-
Quote:Well, people were totally up for repeating the same trial thirty times, so it's only natural. You'd think the devs would have learned that repetition of the same task 3 times in the same trial is boring after all the feedback they got on Hami 2.0.
"We heard you like repeating content so we put repeating content in your repeating content so you could repeat content while you repeated content." -
Quote:And bringing things full circle, you might even say that they want us to...It seems a clever way to kill forum-posters' use of 'pancake you!' every chance they get if they make us sick of the joke.
*puts on sunglasses*
...Burnout on it?

Quote:According to the various rumors floating around after Comic Con, they're apparently only in the travel pools. They are:I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but this is the first I've heard of Tier 5 pool powers.
Are these for real? If so, is there a list somewhere?
~Speed - Burnout - Instantly recharge all your powers, but costs 50 Endurance and has a very long recharge of its own (I've heard both 30 and 60 minutes, and that it can't be buffed, ala Strength of Will).
~Leaping - Don't know the name, but it's a Lightning Rod-esque attack.
~Teleport - Long-Range Teleport - Let's you immediately jump to another zone.
~Flight - Afterburners - Fly at near Superspeed levels, but you're in Only Affecting Self mode. -
Huh, for some reason I thought she was supposed to be keeping the cowl. I'm fine with losing the ears, it does seem like having some sort of mask would make it more of a "Catwoman" look. The look as it is, well, we can't see much, granted, but it just sorta seems generic.
-
I wish I could've just foregone voting for other stuff and voted for the Illustrated Man ten times over. Granted, it kinda gets to cheat, since it's a collection of stories, but those stories just make it the epitome of great science fiction in pretty much every possible way.
-
Yeah, that's sort of what I've always assumed, too. Similarly, I've assumed the woman in pink on the far left is supposed to be Numina, the guy on the far right might be Synapse and the woman "above" him to be Luminary. I have no idea if that's supposed to be right or not.

Well now this thread is truly pancaked.
Nice save, Mod7. -
I really wanted Neal to just flat out tell Moz off at the end. The guy's been a real worm this season with the whole "Let's abandon everyone! It'll be great!" plot.

I'd say the fact that it's a fun computer game that also just happens to be an MMO. Speaking for myself, and many of the friends I know personally who have gotten into the game, the biggest draw has been the fact that you can play with or without a team. Based on what I hear about most MMOs, that's really not such a viable option, like it is here.
Of course, overall game vision also seems to be moving somewhat away from that, but I think that especially as the game loses that required monthly fee, the fact that one can buy the box, then choose to play on their own or play with others as suits their mood, is pretty noteworthy. -
Quote:I'm pretty sure it's already been stated somewhere that Khelds and SoAs will automatically skip the tutorial (the way that SoAs already do) and just continue to use their own respective introduction missions.*nod* And I highly doubt we'll see redside Kheld and blueside VEAT arcs - after all, we're restricted from making either in Praetoria now, so we'll have to see what happens with the new tutorial. It's a lot of work to come up with specialized stories for four ATs. (And given how the VEAT arcs turned out... er...)
Of course, I doubt they'll close off side-switching to them. -
Currently "on the table" in some form or another:
~Psi/Time Corruptor. This one's easy, at least.
~Street Justice/EA Scrapper. Want the former, want the latter. Don't have a really cool idea for the combo yet, though, so may or may not do it.
~Something/Poison. Probably a 'troller, and probably a Plant/ one at that, but haven't decided for sure.
~Dark/Ice Stalker. Might wait it out to see if Ice/ comes to Stalkers first, or might just try both combos.
~Titan/Regen Brute. Will have to wait 'til whenever Titan Weapons show up.
~Staff/Electric Scrapper. Similar to above, assuming Staff isn't part of i21.
I kind want to want Beam Gun in some form, too, but what's been shown so far doesn't really look...beam-y enough to justify spending the extra money on it. -
This tends to be true. Light, even slightly baggy clothing, actually tends to be best for warding off heat-related illnesses, and, obviously, exposing more skin similarly exposes one to harmful UV rays (and the painful sunburns that go along with them!).
