The original series and movie sure as heck didn't. I usually could stand some girl stuff they watched but those were too dreadful to watch. I had two sisters whom out voted me on what we watched at the time it came out.(I also had my two older female cousins so I was dangerously outnumbered for a bunch of years. My lil brothers were too young to back me up at this point.) I would have go to my room and watch whatever I wanted on my black and white TV then.

Given most newer series of 80s cartoons tend to have a bit more substance than the original series did(such as the cartoon network version of He-man was waaay better than the 80s one.), I imagine this will be a better show too. I probably won't be watching it unless my nieces insist upon watching it when I babysit them.

I just find it troubling (and a bit lazy of the filmmakers) to simply not use a character cause they're "not serious enough". I'm already feeling bummed that Nolan has already said no super-powered criminals will show up. The movies are just so good, I can't help but think how cool it'd be to see Poison Ivy or Killer Croc in there. But we never will, cause those characters are too silly for Mr. Nolan's Batman epic.
While I agree with Nolan Batman has no business fighting anyone with extreme lvl super powers for most part(sorry fan boys, it's true.), most his rogues powers are with in his scope or could be toned down to work with some degree of realism.(to suggest otherwise just is simply lacking imagination.) I also find it funny how Nolan just tries so hard to make it all dark and serious (yes Nolan why so serious?) that just kind of sucks the fun out of it. Batman seems be a comic book character at war with the fact he's a comic book character.

Kind of like how there was the real world style mortal kombat trailer where all characters were just freaks and serial killers. That wasn't mortal Kombat as it didn't have the spirit at all. You inject too much realism then why you bothering make a movie about comic characters in the first place? Just write a separate story about some characters made up for the film into of pretending make a movie about them where they're basically those character in name only. (such as the Joker.)

To me the best comic movies so far have been two Iron man films and the incredible hulk. They take themselves serious enough to not turn into loony toons but don't forget they are based off a comic book and remember have alittle fun along the way too. Nolan doesn't seem get that as his movies just seem like someone make a pure extract of the the 90s grittiness and injected into his films as they try so hard to be serious they become caricatures rather than characters. They're not bad movies by any means...but they re not good comic book translations at all.

Somewhere between Adam West and Chris Nolan is a happy balance. Hopefully someone will try find it once he's done.

I wish the game just had a check list for your account and showed all pieces you had to earn.(like playing soul calibur 3 and 4 or Mortal Kombat: armageddon, you get costume pieces they're unlocked for all your characters.) If you got all them all you got an accolade which makes them global heh. Could make a couple of them related to themes so it's not overwhelming. Or just make them globally unlocked period Im fine with either way. I'd gladly hop on my main and get em all.

I've started tons of alts and it gets old after awhile having do all crap to unlock costume pieces. I've done it I dont know how many times. Honestly anyone who is opposed to this probably doesn't make many alts and just thinks well because I only play my 3-4 mains which I have everything ...I don't need this feature.

It doesn't stop people from earning things it just doesn't make them have to do it over and over unless they want to. (which I sometimes just like doing things as it is it's own reward.) People don't have make a new lvl 50 everytime they want to make an epic archtype. There's tons of stuff to unlock between all the badges. I'm fine with badges and accolades being a collectable to chase after for every character.(even if those were global I still would be no where near having them all.) Costume pieces on the other hand I want to have imediately after earning. I dislike the must be this tall to look this cool mentality.

Which with the cape mission hero side, could they put all people I have run around and talk to in same dang zone. Seriously I've read the story before I don't need do the whole tour. It's completely needless busy work.

  4. You wanna find time travelers go to home depot. That's the universal pick up and drop off location. It was set up so you could jump back to any time they existed and find an odd job that pays under the table. Believe me, no one will believe what we use today as dollars is real in the 80s. I've tried.

If the original lacks the ability to stay relevant , it effectively dispears into obscurity on it's own. Some things belong to an era and don't speak to the current audience. It has a better chance of coming to light if a remake or release happens than simply left on a shelf. Old movies and shows don't advertise themselves. It's up to someone to champion them or they will fade away. It's never the remakes fault that happens. Just how the world works. If something stayed fresh forever than we'd never have a reason try anything new.

Transformers - 1980's Generation 1 including the 86 movie, which I own 1 blueray, 2 DVDs, 2 VHS ,1 UMD and 1 rip on the computer needless to say I love it. And the counterpoint, each new franchise including the new movies.
Sorry the 1986 film was franchise suicide. I will gladly take the new films over watching all my favorite characters being slaughtered. Don't tell me this film respected the property when used all original cast as fodder. It bombed for a reason and put the company that made the show, Sunbow out of business.

I liked G1 collectively but it was a rough draft into transformers universe. So much better story telling has come since. Particularly in beast wars and animated. I'm guessing majority of people who are outraged by the changes of the films haven't followed the franchise since G1 and failed realize how often they change the characters around.

I'm fine with the notion G1 might be people's favorite era as has alot of iconic characters in it. But it ended 20 some years ago. So much has come since, and plenty of others remade it long before Bay ever touched it. (Kiss players did far worse things than he did.) Always reminds me of This when I see people make posts like that. If you don't like the current batch wait a few years. A new one will show up and may be it's to your liking as there's eras I skipped over the years. (robots in disguise, headmasters, and the unicorn trilogy.)

If nearly every super hero can be changed over the course of their existence(look at all diffent armors ironman has worn.) I fail see what such a cardinal sin to tweak transformers.
  7. Don't touch my classic...what you want the world to ignore something you like and let it fade into obscurity? If anything a remake tends make the original relevant again as people usually will go back and check out the it. I know I've gone back and watched the originals of a various movies as a direct result of the new version coming out. It draws attention to something you like, ultimately even if you don't care for new version then people will likely come to same answer if the newer one just sucks that bad as you did.

And I'm not saying shorter folks can't be action stars. It's just that Superman is supposed to be 6'4" and it doesn't seem like that's something that's lost on the folks behind these projects, with Routh and Welling being 6'3" and Christopher Reeve 6'4". Sure they can fudge things like that with camera work and such, but should they really have to?

Not to mention I don't think he really has the Superman presence.
When Hugh Jackman becomes 5'3" you'll have a point. Almost all actors who played batman were barely 6 foot or under including Christian Bale. Michael Keaton was 5'9" and the shortest of the bunch. Adam West was only one who was the correct height of 6'2". Plenty of other characters have been off by much larger sums such as Vinnei Jones was 6'2" and Juggernaut originally was 6'10".

Height is one of the least important aspects of actors or they'd be casting nothing but wrestlers since they physically look the part but often couldn't act their way thru a game of charades. If the actor looks 80% the part it's cool because almost every major super hero is 6'2-4 and not every lead who's going play em is going clear 6 foot even. Such as RDJ and Don Cheadle are both 5'8" and not as tall as comics counter part at 6'1". I'd never suggest recasting them regardless of that.

Honestly it's impossible to know exactly how tall the actor in said movie is unless theres some reference point you know as a benchmark. Like when I watch no ordinary family I think to myself man everyone on this show must be really short because Michael Chilkis looks pretty tall compared to them all. Thats only because I know Michael Chilkis is 5'8"ish. In context of the show he seems be physically imposing enough and has a prescence.

All how the camera makes it look and the cast around them. If we cast Tom weiling and then had the rest of the cast be nothing but NBA players then he'd look tiny next to them.

Ultimately I just see it as you nitpicking something that doesn't matter. It's easily worked around and is much more common than you think.

Is there some law people under 6 foot can't be super heroes in movies now?(even characters like wolverine whom are actually supposed be short.) If they're close enough to the height give or take a few inches 1 way or another I don't see an issue.

  12. Why would Tommy from third rock of the sun be superman?(yes I know he was Cobra commander too.) Jimmy Olsen sure...but not Clark. Basically two guys who have already been superman are two best candiates off that list.

Well that would be just about any power as another forum I frequent that would be several people's responses to most types of powers. Thankfully most people that shortsighted probably would get themselves killed not taking other things into consideration while commiting said crime.

I understand that much as she reminds me of myself when I was about 17. I thought I knew best on everything. I thought I was holier than thou. I'm probably a better person now than I was then but I don't feel like it. Mostly because I don't believe my crap doesn't stink like before. I'm still a self righteous jerk, I just revel in it now when it suits me.

I'm sure life will likely assert itself one day and give her a crash course. I just hope it's not too brutal on her when it does. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way. I know it's seems be only way I ever do anything.

I used to believe something bad might happen when I got wasted when I was younger. I had alot of demons to keep at bay but the reality was I'm not a violent drunk. I'm quite the opposite as I tend to just be more outgoing and laugh at everything. I just don't do it often so there's a really thin line between me buzzed and wanting to go pass out as drinking makes me sleepy. I ultimately don't need that to have a good time as I am more than willing make an a*s of myself without chemicals reducing my inhibitions. (such as dancing and singing karokee hehe.)

Of all powers I dont really see it being the corruptor of powers. I could see mind control turn people into jerks but invisiblity? Not so much. You still need get thru doors and walk everywhere.(which you'd have be careful on the street not get ran over since cars can't see you.) Especially in this day and age. I suppose back when that book was taking place there wasn't doors and locks were much easier to breach. There far less security to get past. There was less records and accountability.

Let's assume first you can wear clothes while invisible and make objects you're holding invisible.(Like Sue Richards of fantastic Four power set.) Otherwise the invisible man package where you have run around naked make use of your powers blows. I'd have move to a much warmer climate to make use of it than the Midwest.

Sure you could steal stuff then but there's probably more effective ways of making money off it than that. (like rigging sports events or the Lotto hehe.) So you have your mountain of cash. Where's the immediate need to go be evil? You can buy everything you want legally in the eyes of the world. With that sort of bank roll you can attract more than enough interest from the opposite sex without needing to force anything. You've won at life and still have the perks of super powers.

Am I missing something that's really so awesome about being evil in this scenario? Outside of just making lots of other people unhappy because you've gone around graping and pillaging or just skipped all that grief for the world and just fake success then take it all outright. Reminds me of ....This

I think you miss my real point. I'd do that horrible (yet interesting) thing because I wouldn't believe I have superpowers.
That's a poorly conceived out train of thought. I mean do you jump off buildings every time you get drunk to make sure you haven't gained super powers? No then why act like you're drunk and it doesn't count against me when you do.

I think the saner and more intelligent thing to do is go somewhere vacant and figure out what your limits are. I wouldn't think oh this can't be happening .....be more of well I hope this doesn't shut off at some really incovenient timing. That's where training and figuring out your stuff comes. Going on an ill prepared rampage just seems like a massive waste of potential. Especially if you just get yourself killed because you are a noob.

I'm all for violence in the right conditions(particularly if I found out there was someone else with powers. I'd want to fight them for sport somewhere far from civilization. I like a good challenge to test myself.) but I pick my targets. I fight on my terms. I'm a bit of a Noble Demon at times. I'm not going kick around people who are helpless. I can already do that without super powers. That's being petty and a bully.

I'm by no means saying I'm not willing to exploit my powers to an extent.(heck even superman uses his powers to write stories about his own adventures. Spiderman takes pictures of himself.) I happen like the world way it is, and find I'd have more playing the game in God Mode than smashing the system I'm playing it on and staring at it later because I broke all my toys.
  19. Am I the only one who imediately started thinking of rock em sock em robots? hehe
  20. Not sure I'd call either of those movie geek movies. All actors in Red are as mainstream as it gets. The subject matter is mainstream, as old actors kicking butt. Jackass 3D just mindless stupidity. Im not sure what incentive to see it in theather there is since it will probably just as silly watching it on the small screen without the higher price tag.

Why I'd rather live in a world with murders and thieves than one without freewill. People need bad things to happen or nothing would ever change. People without needs would lead to stagnation. I'm not saying I enjoy the horrors of the world, but I certainty see their point.

Think of all stuff that's been invented directly as a result of warfare. Every sword can be made into a plowshare and vice versa. Plus I think the entertainment industry would run out of ideas. Just look how much they've milked WWII and all crime investigation shows. So we'd have a boring world of uninteresting people too scared to do anything because some super psycho will kill them if they do something "evil." Who heck wants that?
