  1. I think he meant 16 new primary and secondary powers.

As in, 8 new primary and secondary powers for each AT.

Many powersets share certain powers with each other, aim, buildup, and taunt namely.
  2. Well, I've used up 2 because I used the first one to swap out a power, but after a while I realized I still wasn't happy. So I did it again.

Was I an idiot when doing the first respec? Well, it's been known to happen...

And announcing the official Recluse/CuppaJo '04 poster:

    http://www.geocities.com/neospooky/reclusejo04.jpg

This message is endorsed by the Save Evil Candidates Society. There's no reason not to join us, because as we say... everyone loves S.E.C.S.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    LOL! Great poster....

Damn... now the villain in me is trying to force me to vote for Recluse/Cuppa... must..... fight.... back!!!

Where's a transporter to malfunction and make an evil copy of you when you need it?

Then I could split in 2 and battle my self in a fight that is so fantastically awesome it will DESTROY THE WORLD!

Then the winner will cast the vote.

I wanna know about their military records. I know Statesman was in the Rikti wars, but what about everyone else?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Statesman was in much more than that, he's a bona fide army vet!

Served in WW1 before he got his powers, served in WW2 after he got his powers, and he helped out with military operations during the Cold War (during which he was hit by a nuke.... ouch)

I call Vyvyanne's record into question. Vyvyanne doesn't have the strong development experience that Positron has, and has only worked this city from the QA side of things.

We need a VP who will work to build this city stronger, not just put patches on the holes in the infrastructure!

    [/ QUOTE ]

For president, maybe not, but think about what you just said. A QA background is perfect for VP. Geko can make the policies, and Vyvyanne can check them. Statesman/Positron may come up with good ideas, but can they work out the bugs?

    Geko/Vyvyanne '04!

    Gerdef

P.S. On a serious note, please, please do go out and vote.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I wish I could, but due to a period of a mere few months the Constitution has deemed me an imbecile without the mental capacity or maturity to have an informed opinion, so unfortunately I will not be voting today.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
If you really cared about Paragon City, you'd vote for Geko/Vyvyanne. The others may talk nice, but they're the ones who work to make things happen.

    Go Geko go!!

    Statesman/Positron in '04: 4 more years!
  7. That's it. Positron, CuppaJo, debate, NOW!
  8. Nemesis has launched a new voting campaign, "Vote or be defeated" in an attempt to get young villains out to vote for Lord Recluse, but it's only seen minor success due to arguing among the villains whether they're arrested or killed.
  9. You could always vote for the third party, Manticore/Weirdbeard.

    back-flipping

    [/ QUOTE ]

    O.M.G!

you've not respecced out of jumpkick yet?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Never took that crappy power. No, my friend, I am talking about the wonderful magic that is Elude.

I love using it in the midst of a bunch of newbies. Invariably they always A) Say "Whoa, how'd you do that?" or B) Type /em backflip.
  11. Actually, I think it's either Positron's or poz's job to design the interface, Statesman guides the overall balance and fun of the game.

Oh, and Jack, Cuppa is a she FYI.
  12. Bah, I can take on the whole UN myself! Just give me an assault rifle, I'll be a slashing, shooting, back-flipping instrument of death!

    BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
  13. I mean, just look at Statesman's impressive war record. And Positron is always quick to post on domestic issues.

I hope you had a +5 Birthday of Ogre Slaying.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    It's +9 against ogres!

    Happy D&D day, Zeb!

(*Checks though his books.* Gasp! He designed second edition! He's more evil than I ever imagined!)

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Where are the cheetos?

If I knew where they were, I'd give some to my 2nd edition player's guide....
  15. Me....

I've had the worst experiences with the 5th...

You see, the 5th column are the first villain group on an Alpha-numerical list of 0-Z.

Guess which 5th villain is first on that list? Mek Man...

All those office-robots starting to make sense now?

    TAnker/earth melee/Seismic Smash

    [/ QUOTE ]
Um, I think you meant Tremor, Mr. Dev.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No, he meant Seismic Smash. Tremor is a PBAoE and it does a small earthquake around the user.

    What is this SSOCS?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Super Secret Out of Combat System.

I made the acronym up if anyone cares/believes me...

    [/ QUOTE ]
    So it was YOU!

I HATE SSOCS! ACRONYMS ARE TEH LAME!!
  18. What's your concept? I guarantee I can find a way to make 'em fit.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
On another note, the "Powers are my heart..." puzzle does't really work. The "Heart" and "Soul" were metaphorical constructs, no heroes powers actually involve beating enemies to death with their heart (Get working on that powerst for Issue 4 by the way), but the "Mind" of the hero was literally, an aspect of his mind.

    ...I'm too pedantic aren't I?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Yes.
  20. Well, I wasn't completely correct either. I always said it would be detective skills. But lo and behold, we're getting that and more!

I have great hope for this system. I just hope that something as cool is implemented next Update.
  21. Awesome, the other person who correctly guessed what the out of combat system would be!
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    1. Skills won't be required for mission completion.

    2. Skills won't create temp powers; these are skills like "History", "Forensics", etc.

    3. Skills do not impinge on the combat mechanics at all.

    4. Skills are NOT required. You don't need to play with them at all; but they do give rewards...

    5. Psychology is in there. Never fear.

From reading the article it sounds like this is just going to be a stupid way to get some extra xp if you have the right skills. My understanding was that this was supposed to add another aspect to the game the way crafting and collecting equipment are in other games. If this is its purpose then it will be a complete falure if it's just a way to get experience.

    Sincerely,
    Fireshade

    [/ QUOTE ]
Just like defeating villains is just a way to get experience?

We all know what a terrible idea that was.

    [/ QUOTE ]

All I said was that it wouldn't acomplish anything if the goal was to add another aspect to the game the way equipment does other games. I didn't say that there was anything wrong with geting xp. What im saying is that all this would accomplish is add a different way to go about geting your levels. It doesn't actually give you any new abilities or new things you can do in combat or whatever.

    Sincerely,
    Fireshade

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking that it'll add some more interesting aspects to gameplay, while giving XP. Maybe they'll make some contacts in the University that give completely non-combat missions?

  25. I don't think they'll ever make it necessary to have them to complete missions. I mean, you could deactivate the machinery, or you could go the Hulk route and SMASH it!

The benefits to deactivating it could be bonus XP, advancement in your skills, and not having it blow up in your face.
