And can accept that she at least "looks" like a Buffy when you compare her to Kristy Swanson and Sarah Michelle Gellar. I really have little faith in this Buffy reboot (without Whedon's involvement) to begin with, but I figure they could have considered someone worse than Heather. *shrugs*

I would take my Electric Armour tank against malta or carnival of shadows long before I take my invul against one....
  3. I have the AH proc in my claws/ele brute...and you'll appreciate it in some of the EB fights..nothing quite like seeing it proc, hitting spin...and the EB is hit for more than his minions are

Also I've pretty much decided at the moment my eating habits probably aren't going to change. I eat one big meal a day...roughly 1700-3000 calories depending on what I'm eating that day. Which is more or less around the calorie count i need to be at my ideal weight.
Your chances of losing weight are slim to none....if you need to lose weight then you MUST change your eating habits or increase your exercise.

If this isn't an option...then I would recommend the first thing you do is buy an electronic food scale, a set of measuring cups, and a set of measuring spoons. When you eat...measure/weigh your food. Most people don't realize how much they really eat in a day, include all of your meals and all of your snacks. You can find sites on line that will help you total up your calorie content (indeed many restaurants make it easier than ever) DRINK WATER. Take vitamins. Losing weight isn't about dieting, its about changing your outlook on food so that you can sustain your weight loss.

Losing weight is hard 1) To start and then 2) stay at your 'goal' weight. WHen you're losing weight and looking/feeling better its incredibly easy to keep the momentum going.

I really recommend the weight watcher's system (they do everything I recommended). I lost 75 lbs on that plan (I went from 245 to 170). Now, in the interest of full disclosure I've put about 40 lbs of it back on since I stopped following the plan...and its like pulling teeth to getting started again.
  5. DM has three AoE's (stop laughing!)

    Dark Consumption
    Soul Drain
    Shadow Maul

    HOWEVER

DC and SD are on incredibly long timers (3 minutes each ish), and do minimal damage. Dark Consumption is really an end tool, and Soul Drain is really a self buff power.

That leaves Shadow Maul which I like as an AoE but it takes time to line up the melee cone, and it caps out at 5....and it takes FOREVER to animate, and you'll feel like a tool when it misses and you're shadow boxing.

    Invul ponderings

    ok...so I rolled a SS/Invul (I just recently ran a claws/wp to 50)...

I remember 'back in the day' when I was able to walk around with capped resists, so I know that invul isn't nearly that good since the GDR...but....

I'm at level 28 (just got invinciblity), I have every secondary power up to that point and it just feels....squishy. I'm running tough with the build so I'm at 60% resist to smashing/lethal....

Exotics just tear me a new one
End drain just wears me down

I'm playing blue side (in striga right now) and I thought it would be an easier time than playing red side.

Here's my current build, all enhancements are common lvl 30. The first glaring problem I see is that I've skimped on end redux, so I'll probably spend the lvl 29 slots in 1 in invince and 1 in tough (both end redux).

So, I'm getting the feeling that invul is a lot like SR, painful to level but godly with the right set bonuses.

    Claws/Elec?

I don't know...I liked claws for brutes, it hits a LOT harder than it does for Scrappers.

You get an early AoE (spin), you get a cool build up like power (follow up) that doesn't crash like Rage does (though it can miss, a weakness rage doesn't have).

I leveled a claw/wp to 50 and I enjoyed it the entire time.
  11. I'll go against the grain and say thermal is a good pairing for Ninjas.

The resistance makes the likelihood of a 1 shot less likely, giving you time to fire off warmth or cauterize. At lvl 32 I'm letting warmth (aoe) heal the jounin and the oni, and using cauterize for the genin.

I realize that force fields can get the pets closer to the soft cap, but I (personal me here) I find /ff boring....

While the lil suckers do love to run ALL over the map, I find macros to pull them all back to a group hug is enough to keep 'em fresh. Of course, I'm more than willing to accept I'm going to be kicking myself in the 40+ game, but I'm hoping heat exhaustion and melt armor are enough to make me smile.
  12. What would you skip grandville....that place has my two favorite contacts in the entire game:

    Television
    Westin Phipps

There's nothing that EM can do that most sets can't do better. I don't consider 2 attacks taking 5-6 seconds to animate 'burst' damage.

I'm not saying its a garbage set, but I am saying its probably the worst brute primary.

I ran a quick solo mission and it wasnt HORRIBLE, but the new ET animation is annoying

    Thanks!
    In my opinion....no.

Solo: with the new mission setting ability, you want to blow through as many mobs as quickly as you can. For me, that means -1/4-7. ET and TF are simply wasted on targets like that, with the exception of bosses. I find sets with AoE are much more suited: SuperStrength and Claws especially, single target sets simply lag behind. (DM, EM I'm looking at you)

Teamed: Generaly speaking, by the time you fire of TF/ET your target is already dead, or so close to dead its over kill. Again, a spread of targets means you'll have less damage overkill.

For a non stalker, I feel EM is built for a game that no longer exists (ie taking on a few HARD targets).

I agree somewhat with the acting, but only to a point. The cast is great (especially Gabriel), and Keanu isn't embarrasing. My main problem is that I STILL don't buy Keanu as Constatine, if only because Constantine was drawn to look like Sting.

I prefer the comic book ending over the one in the movie, but overall I really liked this...and if Keanu is in a movie I'm generally not interested unless he's playing Neo and (BillorTed).
  17. I'll throw my hat in the ring as well...

    1) The Commitments-About a working class band in Ireland. Stars Colm Meaney (sp) for from Star Trek The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. Also, a few of the Corrs are in it.

    2) Swimming With Sharks-Kevin Spacey as the boss from hell...it plays a lot like the Usual Suspects in how the story unfolds.

    3) Heavenly Creatures-Kate Winslet stars, directed by Peter Jackson. Based on a true story, and a disturbing one at that.

    4) Dr. Strangelove-Peter Sellers, James Earl Jones (don't blink), George C. Scott-"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here....this is the WarRoom!"

    5) Howl's Moving Castle-All Japanese Animation is odd, but not all of it is horrifically strange.

    6) Constantine-Keanu Reeves, character created by my favorite nut job Alan Moore (during his Swamp Thing run).

Also, good movies other people have mentioned: Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Watchmen (by my favorite nut job who had his name taken off of it), From Hell (by my favorite nut j...ahhh skip it).

Also, I highly enjoyed the latest Star Trek movie, and then the wife and I watched Star Trek 2,3,4,6. Shame there was never a 5....

So much for THAT idea. Thanks for the info guys.
  19. Forgetting about xp and inf* (also forget about the larger inspirations they can drop)....is there any advantage to fighting bosses? Is there a special recipe pool that only bosses can drop?

    Claws / Regen...

Drop the end redux from integration, with stamina+qr you won't need it. Instead put three heals in there and call it a day.

Take a slot out of health and put it in recon to finish 6 slotting it (3 rec rdux, 3 heal). I'd sooner slot up recon then slot up fast healing/health.
  21. If I had to guess similar reasons to why:

    Burn
    footstomp
    minion buffing

must be done with 'something' grounded (ie minion buffing must be done while your pet is onthe ground)
  22. No.

What he means is that the other sets only heal you up to your current HP. Frostworks in /cold actually increases the targets HP and its the only buff that has that effect.
  23. I must concur. I rolled a claws/sr and a claws/wp brute at the same time...and to be honest, the /sr brute is parked at 28, and the WP brute is 42 and change.

    My current attack chain is:

FU, Focus, Eviscerate, Spin, electric fences, shockwave. Then I mix in single target attacks on any bosses that are left.

People told me that claws was light damage, light endu...looking at the numbers that spin has consistently pumped out...I'm not sure spin is light damage....
  24. and to thread jack a bit....

Am I the only one that curses under the breath that on a toon that can hold 20 recipes, 10 of them seem to be temp powers?

(ok..probably 5-8...but still...I wish purples dropped like this)
