Every one has been focusing on the costs of these new things. Sure they might be cheap in and of themselves but why are all these things shown in 3x3 rooms?!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because the shots are also showing off the banners and colour tinting!

    [ QUOTE ]
This means that the cost of the items is irrelevant if the cost of the space needed to place the items is astronomical for small or moderate SGs!

    [/ QUOTE ]

OH FFS. CAN WE PLEASE BE SO RECKLESS AS TO ASSUME THAT WHEN THE DEVS SAY THEY ARE DOING THIS FOR SMALL SGS, THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
15 mins is not enough time for a master mind
by the time we get to the zone and set up our pets and run to the "spot giving us a hard time" the buff would have worn off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No way. Every single zone in CoV has a base portal in it.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
But the buffs could also be things inspirations don't cover. Such as speed,

    [/ QUOTE ]

Increased speed is one of the benefits covered in the feature.

'These Stations, ranging from basic to advanced levels, will allow you to create amazing buffs from salvage recipes - increasing your speed, boosting your resistances, and other special bonuses!'

I'd love some sort of craftable emergency transporter power that acts like I just clicked on a Base Portal, even if I'm inside a mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now that I could get behind. I always thought there'd be some sort of emergency 'beam up' power connected to bases, and I was surprised that there wasn't.

Only thing is, it'd have to have a long activation time, to prevent it from being an overpowered escape trick that could bail you out of any bad situation instantly.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
While I think this is probably fine, my only concern is this: Going to the base, and coming back from the base to a mission, is INCREDIBLY inconvenient in CoH.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just don't agree with that at all. There are base portals in all of the city zones. Heading back to the base and then to the mission is incredibly easy.

I also don't agree with all this 'give us a temp power instead' business. Not all the benefits in the game should be given when you want, where you want, at the click of a mouse button. I would PREFER something like the Empowerment Station buffs as they are now - a very big buff with a time limit, as opposed to a smaller one on demand. If nothing else, I'd rather PvP wasn't further complicated by people firing their carefully hoarded temp powers and striking from the shadows.

I do wonder, though, whether this isn't why the CoH teleporters all to go hazard zones - to cut down on travel time to the mission in areas without base portals, while the buff runs down.

Anyway, Positron is saying he'll extend the time limit if it isn't enough, so there's always the chance we'll get it for longer.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, when I read that initially I got concerned as well. I hope that they are not intended solely for base raids.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    They aren't.

Quite apart from the sentence structure, consider this.

A small SG cannot go on base raids.

These additions are for small SGs.

Furthermore, there is no such thing as a buff or a temp power that only works in PvP.

Oh, and if you need further convincing, try reading all the way to the end...

'With the release of Issue 7 you can strategize in the great hall around your new table - your Supergroup banner flying high - grab the best Inspirations, update to the latest Enhancements, buff up at your Empowerment Station, and head off to battle confident that you shall be victorious no matter what plans your vile enemies might have in store.'

Head off to battle. This isn't PvP. Relax.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
    Read again...

"Have you ever wished you could throw together some powerful instant buffs to prep for battle in your deadly lair? Now you can prepare for a fight with Empowerment Stations."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Prepare for battle in your deadly lair.
Get dressed for an interview in your bedroom.
Rehearse for a play in your sitting room.
Read about wild animals in your bed.

    Get the idea?

is this the same "reasonable prioces " like the 3 million it takes to change an outfit?

    PFFT!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That's Influence, dear.

And if you can't afford it, you shouldn't be seen in it.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I'd note how easy it would have been for Positron to strengthen his position simply by *listing* the low costs of these items to refute Lektrik's suspicions, but that wasn't done here.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can't imagine what possible reason he could have had for not wanting to provide a full list of all the upcoming base features along with their prices, and explanations of what each one does so that you know exactly what you're getting, with I7 just about to hit Test.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I think the players have a very different definition of "ridiculously expensive" than the developers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think they have much the same definition of 'affordable for a small SG'.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
The additions sound great but they certainly do sound ridiculously expensive. Especially the ones where you can create your own special buffs for your SG.

    [/ QUOTE ]

OK, stop there. Positron has explained that the whole POINT of the empowerment stations and the storage devices is that they CAN be afforded by a small SG, to make their bases more functional. This is supposed to be the boost that small SGs need.

The one thing they won't be is ridiculously expensive.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I'm just afraid to even ponder how much these things will cost.....Everything even remotely nice is priced so that small groups can't get them. I'll wait till it hits test to see if my SG has a chance at ever owning one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't fret. These features are all specially FOR small SGs.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
    Go Hunt. Farm Kora!

    [/ QUOTE ]

And what about ambrosia? Could make the Eden Trial a lot easier for the next SG team if there were leftovers.

Also: am I imagining it, or does the third picture down show wall mounted monitors at the far end?
  14. Also, Inspiration bins sound like a GREAT idea. I foresee many Kora-gathering expeditions for the SG.
  15. OMG PRETTY OMG.

I want to fight cops, damn it, not spandex-clad retards.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can we really believe that the Devs went to the trouble of coding new cops for CoH that would actively fight villains in Atlas Park and similar places, and yet somehow neglected to put them in the Mayhem Missions for CoV?
  17. I can't BELIEVE anyone thought that was actually a shot of a Mayhem Mission.

What exactly do you suppose all those Arachnos and Mu are doing coming along to a bank heist in Paragon City, hmm?

There are silly overreactions to real information, then there are silly overreactions to outright supposition, and then there's this.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Let me say something first: I'm very excited about Issue 7, and it can't get here soon enough, and I'm all in favor of most of what I've heard about it. But I just learned one thing, today, that is almost all by itself enough motivation for me to hate Issue 7. Mayhem Missions will be versus Longbow.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What on earth gave you that idea?

Mayhem Missions are set in Paragon City. They're bank heists. Coincidentally, Paragon City will be getting new reactive cops (with trenchcoats) in I7.

If you're basing your ideas on the new screenshots, you're wrong. That's a Portal Corp building, not a bank. It's highly likely that it's not a Mayhem Mission at all, but rather a shot of Recluse's Victory. The reference to heavy artillery, which is a known part of RV, also gives the clue to this, as does the Portal Corp building - you get into RV through the Ubelmann Portal.

The captions to the shots appear to have been stuck on at random with no regard to context. The second caption, for example, has nothing to do with the image at all.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
IF we were to ever add a way to get Isolator post-Tutorial, it would most likely be incredibly hard to get. Annoyingly hard. Irritatingly hard.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In that case, the way to do it is to have a single Contaminated Thug spawn from time to time in the alleys of Steel Canyon... an escapee from Outbreak, if you will.

Anyone truly demented enough to want Isolator can thus get it.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Is this coming with I7, or later?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Well -that- didn't take long.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a fair question, given that Positron mentions the Invention system in the course of an interview, the main subject of which is I7.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Yes, we remember it. Getting it 'right' has proven difficult, though, which is why you folks haven't seen it. It's still something we are working on, though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can you please give us at least a hint of what it would let us do?
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    Skills are shelved.

    Inventions? :-)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Crafting! Universities! Woot!

Is this coming with I7, or later?

8.) What is being done to compensate (if anything) the Stalkers that could one-shot? How about the Brutes that can one-shot?

No compensation is being given, nor is it warranted.
