I kind of liked them that way. Nothing more frightening than a pair of glowing eyes and shoulder pads in a dark alley.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Very 'The Keep'.

How come the name was changed from Raserei Untermenschen Obergruppen Weinerschitzel or whatever it was?
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Man oh man, you guys BETTER have the portal into RV inside of Atlas City hall in plain/easy to find sight of everyone. You BETTER.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Portals aren't exactly inconspicuous. They tend to make noise.
  3. Grats to you both, gentlemen. It's been a fantastic time.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
We tried to create a vibrant villainous organization that players would want to be part of.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They've spent the last 40 levels attacking me on sight! If I want to be a part of them, it's only so I can subvert them from within.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
to Lady Sadako: yeah, I read about the various cameras, but again, how can you square this 'sneaking' with the time factor?

    [/ QUOTE ]

By sneaking past the cameras on the side missions, you'll be able to achieve the sub-objectives more quickly. You thus won't NEED to blow up fire hydrants and the like.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Not to whine on everyone's parade, but can you tell me exactly how a STALKER is supposed to do any of these missons?

    Or a Dom?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Easy. The objectives don't just involve blowing things up.

Did you miss the bit about side missions with security cameras that 'stalkers are going to love'?
  7. [ QUOTE ]
The powers will parallel the Hero accolades as best as possible, for fairness sake.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then my Vanguard-equivalent-bearing future Dom self is very happy! Thanks!
  8. [ QUOTE ]
I'm crazy busy right now, but I'd be happy to answer a few questions, as long as none of them are "when is I7...?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can you tell us a little about forthcoming villain accolades?

I checked in a few Hurricane changes today that QA is going to look at. In Theory, these changes should mean that for PvE, Hurricane acts Exactly as it did before the previous change, while in PvP, it should act exactly as it does currently. Hopefully this change will get a green light from QA -- I've spent quite a bit of time on it over the last few days.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Did I ever tell you you're my heeeeeeroooooo....

Why make blast sets without the nukes though? That seems pretty odd then.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd swap out Psychic Wail for Psychic Shockwave in a heartbeat. Psychic Shockwave makes a tolerable set good.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
The only nuke you have is.. well.. the closest thing you can do is that nova-type power in the Psychic Assault set.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    That's *definitely* a nuke.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No it isn't. I have Psychic Wail on my Def - that's a nuke. Psychic Shockwave recharges in good time, doesn't drain your End, does good but not insane damage, and doesn't do that 'three separate attacks' thing that nukes do.
  12. Just noticed something.

Black Scorpion's powers refer to three different maces: the Executioner's Mace, the Bane Mace and the Nullifier Mace. Are these actually different graphics, or just different names for the same thing?
  13. [ QUOTE ]
The Seers are lts, the Mistresses are bosses, I believe, so Doms will get an LT for GW. I cannot remember if the toxic tarantula is a boss or lt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a boss. I'm completely confused by the pet allocation.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    Flying ghost sharks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes!

But in mechanics terms, still a single-target attack, an AoE immob, and so on.
  15. Well, those who said the Patron Powers would have to be very, very similar across the Patrons weren't wrong. They seem to follow enough of a set pattern that no one pool is outstandingly different from any other. For example:

Brutes get: Ranged single-target attack, AoE Immob, ranged AoE damage, Pet.

Doms get: Attack OR End buff, Armour, ranged AoE damage, pet.

    This isn't a criticism.
  16. There was once a time when Break Free inspirations didn't exist. All you could get to protect you from holds, sleeps and stuns were 'Discipline' inspirations, which you had to take before a fight. They wouldn't break a mez effect once it had already taken hold.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
...that the greatest bug ever in the CoV beta was a toon ending up zoning in or something and ending up 500 feet tall?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The second best bug ever was a villain changing sides in the middle of a base raid and attacking his former friends, who subsequently lost.
  18. The Teleport travel power used to have momentum conservation. If you started to fall and you teleported, you would appear at your destination still falling. If you bounced off something and shot off sideways, you would still be travelling in that direction just as fast after your port. This made mis-teleporting even more hazardous than it currently is, though some people took advantage of it to build up massive speeds!
  19. [ QUOTE ]
ya know what i say, i say just get rid of archery or at least give some "special effect" besides extra acc i mean the damage now in pretty sucky, and i also advise improve storm, or delete it too, its not much of a defender power and its incredibly annoyin to tanks, actually my lvl 50 tank got'sa note on him sayin >do not invite unless there is a empath on team and NO STORM SUMONERZ<

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tanks who know what they're doing don't have a problem with Storm when played competently. Tanks who explicitly depend on Empaths aren't worth a Stormer's time in the first place; a good Storm renders that kind of tank entirely superfluous.

    In short: don't call us.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
The thing is... Let's face it, the level 40 power pools aren't make or break powers. They're fluff, candy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What, like Indomitable Will, you mean?

Apart from a few glimpses, we have absolutely no idea what they do. How can we write them off as fluff when we haven't seen them yet?

Any day now, the second part of the Patron previews will be up, and all this speculation will be even more academic than it already is...
  21. [ QUOTE ]
But again, the point is...they change powers. They'll change them again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Right. And the consolation prize when this happens is usually... a free respec.

So I get the point when people express concern about non-respeccable power pool choices. If the actual powers within the pool are respeccable, then that's not quite so bad, but most epic pools end up with at least three out of the four powers taken, so it's still a very big issue.

That's a point, actually: will the Patron powers have prerequsites, as in 'you need to take 1 or 2 before you can take 3', or not? I'd say there's a strong case for them NOT to, if they're already this tightly limited.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Then you and I are in agreement. More options are always good, and a nonaligned patron (wouldn't Archmage Tarixus rock?) is an excellent idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think the dynamic of patrons is putting some people off. They feel, well, patronized. If we're going to have high-level contacts who point us to missions and give us new powers, then one way to do it is to have them working for us, even if they are doing so unwillingly: captive scientists we force to develop new tech, occult students we enslave so that they can research spells to maximise our power, millionaire corporation heads we blackmail into giving us the fruits of their tech programs, that kind of thing.
  23. Suggestion: give us temp powers that exactly duplicate the patron powers and are limited by time and charges, so we can test them out before making a commitment.

Yes, and I also see 'truly permanent' and 'part of your character'.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes but what is your point?

    [/ QUOTE ]

My point is that those are clearly design intentions, not side-effects.

    [ QUOTE ]
My point is that they are just being lazy by not figuring out a way for us to respec out of these patron powers,

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think they ever intended to, any more than they intend to let us respec out of our primaries and secondaries. 'Currently no way' sounds diplomatic to me.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
See how he says currently there is no way to allow us to respec out of them?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, and I also see 'truly permanent' and 'part of your character'.
