What's going to happen to newspaper missions and normal storyline missions?
[/ QUOTE ]
You have to do five Newspaper missions (or three at low levels) to get Mayhems in the first place.
[ QUOTE ]
Are they going to go the way of the dodo? No one is going to want to do them with Mayhems available.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mayhems only last for 20 minutes or so. That's another brilliant feature, IMO - the fact that they're time-limited makes them much more special and unlikely to grow stale. -
[ QUOTE ]
yeah, I'm not sure what it's actually supposed to do, but I doubt a 10 HO was the actual design. Maybe we need a user manual for this thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think this is part of the final design. Looks like a chance for the Devs to test Enhancement crafting with an eye to the upcoming Invention system. This was probably the most obvious place to do it. -
ENOUGH. The infighting stops now, please. What happens on the Dom board stays on the Dom board. What happens here may very well affect how Dominators play over the next four months. Bear that in mind. I am not prepared to let the chance to be heard get blotted out by personal bad feeling.
Let's keep it critical but constructive. -

If you want to pvp then make a toon to pvp in the zone you prefer. Don't pick a toon that blooms late.
[/ QUOTE ]
No disrespect, but hell with that. I don't go into the game thinking 'I want to PvP in Recluse's Victory, I'd better make a PvP-specific "toon" to PvP with.'
I don't play "toons", I play characters. The CoV character in whom I have invested a significant amount of time is a level 40 Mind/Psi Dominator. There is no reason on God's earth why I shouldn't be able to take that character into a PvP zone and fare reasonably. No, I am NOT saying I want to pwn the map lulz or whatever the newfangled hip lingo is that you crazy cats are speaking these days. I am saying that no character class deserves to be the welcome mat that Dominators are. The first thing that other ATs do is wipe their feet with them.
We are testing. We are helping develop this. Having done a significant amount of PvP in Siren's Call - enough to become a dominator that, while she does not pwn, at least does not altogether suck - I can honestly say that I know what I'm talking about. The current changes, welcome as they are (except the toggle dropping, naturally) are just not enough.
Take the increase to Domination building by attacking players. Looks good on the surface, but frankly, if you could attack players often enough to build Domination reliably without getting pounded like a tenderised steak, you wouldn't need Domination in the first place. No Dominator that I know builds Domination by attacking players, even in PvP.
Dominators do well in PvE, because mobs are stupid. Mobs also do not have the kind of status resists you find in even a token handful of heroes in a PvP field. In PvE, I can activate Mass Hypnosis, suck the psyche out of a whole group of foes, then begin to waste them one by one. I never have to worry about Endurance. That's not going to happen in PvP. Again, in PvE I can Confuse to my heart's content; that's not going to happen in PvP either. Doms are viable in PvE, though they could do with boosting. They are a cruel joke in PvP.
The answer is NOT to dismiss people's legitimate concerns and tell them to make some more PvP-suited 'toon'. PvP is an extension of the PvE game, not the other way around. The characters that we have invested our time in ought to be able to hold their own, at least, in PvP (build and enhancement concerns aside).
Let us build damage as we build Domination, and that'll be a step in the right direction. -

I had DE in founder falls and the only reason I knew about the villain in the jail was because when I zoned in there was a Greater Devoured across the street shouting "Silent Blade has been captured!"
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I had that happen. I had to ask myself why a DE would care. -
I took over a pillbox that was already villain-side, but the person controlling it had been killed or run away or something. It had no turrets, but when I took it over, ONE turret spawned (instead of four) and it was right next to me, clipping the transparent dome. I'm guessing this is a bug.

[ QUOTE ]
I've gone and lowered the costs of all the Empowerment buffs. There was a bug where the data was seeing Tier 2 Salvage (created by the Tier 1 salvage you collect) as Tier 1 quantities, i.e. the player would have a lot more of it.
The new Empowerment costs should be much more in line with what you guys were thinking. Sorry.
This will get up to the training room in the next major patch.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
Makes perfect sense -
The blue/red slider that runs from 0 to 1000 seems to represent something called 'Temporal Points'. If you earn enough of them, you get a personal Heavy class pet, according to the information icon next to the zone name in the compass.
I've been able to determine that killing turrets gets you points, while being defeated loses them. Winning the whole zone also gets you points. When the zone reverts, your points reset.
This is going to be a very difficult pet to earn! -
[ QUOTE ]
Too many people complaining this won't help a small SG...Why does it have to?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because that was the explicit stated purpose of Empowerment Stations.
They were supposed to be the feature that made bases useful for SGs of around 10 members or so (based on the prestige costs).
I can only hope that Positron gave the salvage numbers to someone else to work on, and when he sees what was done with them, he'll slam open the doors like the wizard in the Sorcerer's Apprentice in Fantasia and be really furious with Mickey Mouse who did the salvage coding and then he will set everything right and Empowerment Stations will be good. -
Okay. Here is what is most wrong with Doms, and here is how to fix it.
What is wrong with Doms is that their inherent power only works to their advantage a fraction of the time. You cannot say that about ANY other AT (except perhaps Defs, who need to be on a team to benefit from Vigilance). There is absolutely no difference between a Dom at 5% Domination and a Dom at 85% Domination. Even a Dominator with a full bar will often sit on it, saving it up for a boss fight, battling through fights in which it does them no good at all - what other AT has to do anything of the kind, ever?
This makes PvP especially insane. We have scant chance of winning unless we have Domination up, and to get Domination up, we have to enter fights in which we have scant chance of winning. It's a Catch 22.
Here's what to do to fix it. Let our damage increase as our Domination bar increases, much like Fury, but obviously at Domination pace instead. Once the bar is full, we ought to be dealing equivalent damage to that which we do when Domination is activated. However, we won't have the bonus to control mag and duration that activated Domination gives.
We will then have to make a tactical choice: keep the bar full and continue to deal good damage, OR activate Domination in order to get a brief period of good damage AND good control, only to see it drop back down to zero when that expires.
Hey presto. Doms become viable. -
[ QUOTE ]
This does not match my experience in I6, nor does it match the early I7 reports coming from Fishw0rk.
[/ QUOTE ]
It sure as hell matches mine. If I go on to the field as a Dom, I'm a target. I'm an EASY target. I can only hope to build up Domination if I am to stand a chance of not sucking for a few minutes; but the Domination bar drops to zero on death, so a simple two-shot from any of the plentiful scrapp0rz in RV is enough to scotch that.
Doms are the only AT to have a qualifying round in PvP. Survive long enough and attack often enough to build up Domination, and you might have a chance.
They are the only AT to have a mediocre primary and a mediocre secondary. Other ATs have inherent powers as a bonus; Dominators are the only AT to DEPEND on their Inherent power.
We need some serious fixing, and this was sadly not it. -
There's a bug in the hospital. If you die and are sent there, while you are in the hall outside your mission marker points back towards the door to the hospital instead of to the mission.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Yes. It's coming. Safeguard missions. Being worked on right now (outside my office, in fact).
[/ QUOTE ]
Can't get more specific than that. -
Would someone please provide a list of which toggle-dropping Dom powers were changed and how? Then we would at least be able to assess the scale of the changes.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Love the new 'deflected' instead of 'miss'.
Actual onscreen evidence of FF buffs etc having an effect.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe now other methods of damage mitigation than TEH HEALZ will be recognised, eh? -
[ QUOTE ]
For one thing, it ruins the immersion of all of the people who were role-playing double agents; while they could justify robbing banks that are owned/used by supervillains, attacking Paragon City will be harder for them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, if that's really such a big deal, they can let the timer tick down and do nothing. You get introduced to the new contacts whether you succeed at the Mayhem Mission or not. -
What did you mean by 'and Enhancement Test(2)'? Is that some sort of add-on to the Empowerment Station?
-
[ QUOTE ]
I havent seen a "mission" contact as of yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good point. All the other PvP zones have missions to buff and debuff the two sides. RV seems to be missing these. -
[ QUOTE ]
... a level 10 (well thats what it created for me) Damage/Accuracy Hamidion Origin Enhancement ...
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure one of the lowbies in your SG will love it! -
Most fun I've ever had failing a mission.
Couple of points:
It wasn't altogether clear what we were supposed to do to gain extra time. We kept getting a bonus 30 seconds for resisting arrest, but what does that mean exactly? As far as we knew, we were smashing things and hitting the heroes without much of a battle plan.
Silent Blade seemed to be a bit useless. -
[ QUOTE ]
The empowerment stations aren't really intended for use by small casual SG's, I suppose?
[/ QUOTE ]
That was exactly who they were intended for. This isn't workable as it stands. The buffs need to be made much cheaper in terms of materials. -
[ QUOTE ]
Possibly a temp power, but it was an Arachnid with "owner" text underneath.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's one of the 'Heavies' from the zone. I just got one myself. Very cool.
On that point: there's no individual controls for the turrets, when you take a pillbox. You have to give the same instructions to 'all pets'. The same applies when you have a heavy AND a pillbox. You have to tell everything to attack the same target. -
Talked to the Arachnos Situation Monitor next to the Administration Fortunata. He said 'A hero? But how? Guards! Guards!' I'm a villain.
-
Didn't see any signature heroes or villains turn up to defend the last pillboxes, like they were supposed to.

To: Fury Superman Warrior

Oh, I thought it was just to 'Warrior'. My mistake!
