I gotta say initially I was phased by the topic, but now the more people complain about it, the more I wanna take it on... not to sound preachy, but we should push ourselves out of our comfort zones, if only to be better artists in the end. Gonna try something on the wife's Mac tomorrow, hopefully my fever based hangover will be through my body by then... 104 temp 2 days ago, this post should be written from beyond the grave. I am quite happy it is not the case!

Beautiful work, congrats on both pieces!

You might want to splice on the skinny "reference model" of some comic book character to use as the guide, ie: plastic man, mr fantastic, or one of those metal men.

Except for a few typos, he's an interesting villain... You might want to look at BAS guides, do a search for Back Alley Scrapper on Deviant Art. In his scraps folder are several examples of excellent guides for artist's to use, this looked more like a writer's guide to me, as the images are much too small.

yup he will which is why he's a solid black, the better to select him super quick with the magic wand tool! none of that messy finding the edges with the pen tool crap! I'm gonna super color this in painter for the skin tones, and then photoshop for the rust and effects... okay enough gabbing!

The Ski Slopes, the ability to skate on the ice everywhere in the baby New Year mish, well lighted ice covered caves... we soooo need a winter zone!

I almost always use reference for coloring, but most of my faces are consistent interpretations of the reference. So the linework is the same, but the lighting gets better depending on the image. Also Painter is very forgiving...
