Nothing short of incredible! I like the others too, but this one is amazing... -
You know with work like this, you just makes us want more EXACTLY like it... so uh what's the hold up?
-
Sort of a TA tease, I know he wants the finish to include Dr. Doom, and one of my favorite storylines with him is when he took the Surfer's board... so here's a bad scan for ya...
-
man that's ambitious... don't forget to sleep or eat, or breathe.

Great poses, and yay another artist who draws elongated figures!!! These are all gonna be great man...

... the eyes...just seem a bit off. again, minor but got my attention right off especially with the "blow-up" watermark...
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I was too happy to fix it, because once I started playing with the brush, I was flying... literally across the page, and at that point the eye was neglible to finishing it. This took an embarrassing 15 minutes maybe, because I'd already committed the costume to memory from last night, and I was really loving the thick thin thing going on...
Emma said she liked it, so I'm good. I could fix it, but then you'd get your piece by monday... what's it gonna be? -
Here's a progress inking on White Peregrine... again with the sumi-e brush in Painter 9.5 I changed the legs from the sketch, and will mostly be coloring this sometime tonight or tomorrow... oh the background will eventually change.

Heh, you should try it with a cintiq or (Like me) a Tablet PC

HA I wish, maybe next year if Santa likes me... -
Hey WP, if you can get your hands on a trial for Painter 9.5, you may enjoy it's amazing coloring abilites... I discovered the sumi-e brush today and did another one for Emma, with the pressure setting on my wacom, it felt like a real ink brush... I'm loving it, I may never ink with a pen again...

Now that is one happy poster.

See now that's why I do these... -
Nice work, I like the tight pencils and the loose feel of the poses in the others. Looking forward to the finishes...

Her right shoulder looks dis-jointed (is that the correct word?) and her face looks flat.

...other than that, do you like it? -

And LJ does traditional art!! I'd love to see more acrylics, that portrait is great!
[/ QUOTE ]
I've only been doing non-traditional art since 2000, before that I didn't have photoshop *sniffle, sniffle*... Here's another acrylic for you, done last year for the wife's Montessori school's Winter auction, actual size is 30 x 40 inches.
It sold for a respectable $175, not bad for 3 nights work. Here are some stages of it: at the starting gate and close to the finish. I know it looks like a watercolor, but it's not... it's acrylic washes... a heckuva lot of them grrrrrrr. What can I say, the wife made me do it. She comes home one day and says, you're painting for an auction, I go "uh okay"...

LJ, those looks great!!! I love how you got Life and Death diving. My favorite is Mystic. Awesome!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I'm pretty proud of that one, it's gotta a nice JRJ to it, and I wasn't even trying... this was the 3rd sketch, which made the 2 before it look attrocious, they have since been written on... but the finish of this will be much larger, it might have to be a two piece actually, because he will be doing "Rise of the Phoenix" in the final, so look for another fire heavy piece from me.

Oh, I LOVE teasers!
PS, just FYI, ** doesn't wear a belt. But, feel free to adjust the costume some if you want. I am not that picky.

Whoops, I was sketching from memory without a reference... will fix that asap... lol duh, I forgot the claws! -
This was done for a friend about 3 years ago, alas he's no longer a friend after divorcing my friend. But it was the first time I did anything digitally that I thought looked professional, so it was a milestone.
This is a personal fave for similiar reasons, one of the few times acrylics did what I wanted them to... it's a detail of my cousin Victoria.
Hope those help Starchasm.

Did a bit of quick sketching last night, these along with my upcoming final Rowr piece, the one for White Peregrine, and Emma's Gravastar go into the que of things to finish, before TA gets his...
Feral Kat Redux
Life and Death
Rox
Pirate Rose
Mystic Fire
Those aren't in any specific order, and about 15 follow them... okay back to Emma's.

Beautiful. Makes me want to pick up the brush again...

Now there's an idea...I've got no cash, but any artists willing to work for Virtue influence?
[/ QUOTE ]
YES! Well I'd prefer at this point to put down Calystix, Biff and finish my patron power mish... so send me a pm, and we'll work something out if you have COV.

LJ is fine, I like to stay in character, otherwise it gets real confusing...
