Thank you Manoa for the insight. I'm all for friends sticking up for each other, especially well spoken ones, and if you could add to him, I have no animosity, resentment or problems with him. I recognize that for my part, rushing for a reaction is sometimes not my greatest character trait. Coupled with the day he had, and truthfully the confusion here, I understand his reaction towards me.
My coloring the piece and trying to contact him, AND this thread whether it is a blatant call out or not, was merely to get him to reconsider the situation, and come back. This is my favorite section of the forums. We laugh a lot here, AND we share some great art... it would be a shame for him to lose out on that, merely because of one bad day.
I think it would go a long way to his "street cred" to come back, balls strong, or Suichiro hardened, and face up to us, we're not gonna bite. Well no harder than we are given... in the end like it was mentioned, we may disagree, but there's no conspiracy here or sides being chosen. The outspoken people in my favor humble me in their support, and it's not just because of the situation, it's because deep down, we are a family here... dysfunctional, virtual and emo, but still a family.
He's welcome to that, anyone is, the community enriches itself.
Thank you for your efforts, I hope he reconsiders.
As to the holding back to thank me, unusual but appreciated. I've learned to curb my impatience from this whole mess, I thank him for that. If or whenever he's ready to tell me what he thought of the pieces, I'm more than willing to wait for his reply.

I like them both, especially the fabric effect of your new one... I have to confess I had to Google what you meant by Inkbleed, is it the Street Fight IV game? If so, I kind of like the look of these parts of the trailer:
Makes me want to try drawing your toon in this really harsh shadow and blurriness... not to mention all those great ink splotches.

In my defense, I've never seen Chloe's feet, so those are just place markers... the basic concept is, Dark Ether Vanguard is deciding um who to blast? Chloe or Comrade? And well as you can see, he's chosen...
Don't count on the finish for awhile... though if someone wants to ink this, I can send you guys the huge version in blue digital pen, which it was sketched in, about 90 minutes I think. I was going for a feel for each toon, rather than dead on accuracy.

Was flatting, but the wife pulled me away for alone time - which translates to, come watch Top Model. So will be back to flatting in 2 hours... btw, all changes are in, and I'm pretty happy with the result.

Well I got a second lengthy reply, and once again I apologized for the umpteenth time to him and his friend. At this point, I'm going to follow Thornster's advice and stop talking about it. It's kind of hard to be diplomatic talking to yourself.

Our misunderstanding was my rushing him for a thank you when he had posted he would reply later.
I have already apologized for that profusely, and colored the original piece of gift art as a peace offering. That's all I'm guilty of... others in the original thread were much harsher to him.

I just thought if he gave the COH art boards another try, he might enjoy them. As for making him out as a joke, I can't be blamed if someone finds a pun directed at his cowboy character not funny. It wasn't meant maliciously, I actually do want him to return. Otherwise I would not have colored the piece.
Since you seem to know him, all I can say, again is that I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, and would ask him to humbly give me a second chance. I didn't call him out in a new thread to make him feel bad. I just wanted him to get the colored piece, which I've already sent to him on here.
I can't really understand the not wanting free art part, but to each their own.

I'm getting very close to washing my hands of this, can't say I'm sorry anymore. For the record I am posting this here so that people can see I've been more than reasonable. Now I'm getting flack from people who know him? Okay... whatever. -
Hmmmm, I might have to miss a few of those details, but I don't think it's too late to adjust my piece. I was going for a fashion model look... as that's what came to mind when I saw the striped sleeves and vest.
I will try to keep him within your vision, I think I got the features right on the face. I did some research of my own based on aboriginal faces, even found an albino one... but in the end I sort of stylized the screen shot and a cross between the flat nose, and lips. The hair IS giving me a challenge, I will have to work on it more... but so far I am having a lot of fun on him.
As to my reasoning for drawing it for you, mainly he looked like a challenge, and part of my fun is drawing someone new for a change of pace. I can't draw TAs all day...
