  1. Again: That isn't Starfire. Give her to a writer that cares about the past incarnation. Everything I saw points to Blackfire, not Starfire.
  2. Soooo the whole argument is the Incarnate system uses characters and places from Going Rogue so it should be considdered as such? You could use that argument for the whole game since the Praetorians have been around since the launch of Pergrine island. Locations? Nope, the iTrials were added well afterward. You could actually, go to those places within the lev1-20 content and fight mobs, etc. Just because they created maps using said locations for the iTrials does not make it part of Going Rogue.
  3. Pax slide stated: A "Taste" in going rogue, but the slide was, in fact, part of i19 info.
Devs said: "Sneak Peak" being released with Going Rogue.

Does not mean the system itself was to be part of Going Rogue only attached in that you were required to own GR as a requisite to taking part. This was to prevent players who did not purchase the expansion from taking part in the content.

The Alpha was removed because we, the players, found it too grindy and wanted content to go with it. NOTE: iTrial were not in the beta at all nor any means to get Astrals and Emperials. The original Tier1 and 2 had to be built with shards from certain (already in the game) Task Forces. Thus, even with the slimmest argument, iTrials should not be given to Premiums at all only the means to get Shards via the Weekly Strike Targets. Annnd if you realy want to go into slimmest then only the first two tiers of the Alpha slot.

Now, the only requirement is you be a VIP. It is no longer locked behind Going Rogue. And no where on the box or preorder information was there listed anything about Incarnates being part of Going Rogue.

What it boils down to is entitlement. Again, Freedom was not designed for the existing player base to step down to Premium. It was not set up to even approximate a Lifetime subscription (again, the devs said they would not be offering this.) I find it ridiulous that people are complaining because they can't play for free. Keep the subscription going and you barely lose anything.

So, you have to buy bundled costume sets. We were doing that at $10 a pop anyway. Now those same bundles are coming out at $5 a pop (Win). Horde your points and you'll still get you free powersets. The devs any stated VIPs would still be getting additional content with the Issue Updates (This included costume sets and powersets.) Yes, you have to spend real money to get your storage increase, costume slots, etc, but none of this was game breaking before and still isn't.

And again, you get 400 points a month and one free server transfer ($15.) Basically, you are playing for free but with some additional perks.

All this being said, I'm a VIP and staying that way because I love this game and enjoy contributing to its ongoing development. I have no sense of entitlement, but rather a sense of giving my support to a hobby that has given me enjoyment over the years.
  4. Three words: That's not Starfire. Until she is retconned make mine Marvel.
  5. Star fire was my favorite DC character if somewhat underused. Her world view was with a touch of wonderment and innocence. Now? Uhg! Comics have cited for years "great jumping on point" but this was a great place for me to jump off. Goodbye DCU. I will remember the old content with fondness.
  6. Actually, the devs apologized in the beta and on the live forums that the Preview for the Incarnate system would not be in Going Rogue and had been postponed due to player feedback. The word Preview is paramount here as it is The word taste in the Pax slides. Both mean sneak peak and only that.
  7. Actually, they do. The Alpha slot can be used, even the +1, in standard content. No Incarnate trials were promised as part of the sneak peak. In fact, before the argument goes there, the slot was pulled because there was no content to go with it and to make it less grindy.
  8. They are currently, slowly activating all old accounts. Your brother's may not have been activated yet. Tuesday, from what I understand is launch day.

Annnnd the Pax presentation slides show that Incarnates is i19 and a "taste" will be in GR. This means it was a feature for a future update that we were to get an example of in the expansion. It did not mean it was part of the expansion itself but rather a sneak peak.

I really don't see the issue here. The system was never built so you could have access to everything without a sub. They stated, time and again, there would be no lifetime sub or equivalent. What would it be like if you they didn't decide to go to this hybrid model? You would still be paying a monthly to support a game you love. Why not simply continue the sub and let this rest?

I never intended to step down. I'm very happy with VIP and what I get versus someone who doesn't pay a monthly. I'm a prime example of what a monthly sub is. If you don't want to pay a monthly you should not be upset that those of us that choose to do so are obtaining something premiums can never obtain.

If they ever bow down to this do not expect to get anything beyond Alpha and the ability to form it with shards (not threads.) No Incarnate trials were released with GR or even hinted, so Premiums, no matter how thick the argument, should have zero access to such. However, I truly do not think anything was misrepresented just people are now upset they can't play everything for free.

    Points...and I

Deeeead horses... De...de...deeaaaad horses. Dead horses aren't much fun.

Again, Freedom was never meant to be a way for subscribers to step and down play for free. And no, Incarnates should not be unlocked for premiums because it was meant as a sneak peak nothing more, yada, yada, yada... I'm hoping the mods combine all of these into one big thread once a red name posts to clear it all up. As it stands. VIPs are meant to have more the. Premiums. If, you haven't paid for it you need to pay to have it unlocked. And, again, the hid nothing from anyone. Go to the page describing who has access to what and have a fill. Me, I'm counting down until most of these get locked.
  10. I'm all for a subscription base for the Alpha Slot with the ability to form it Only from shards. In other words no access to iTrials.
  11. "...sneak peak at the Incarnate System..."
  12. Again, all information all stated "Sneak Peak at the Incarnate system coming with i19." Tada! Not part of Going Rogue.
  13. No Incarnate content was released with GR. That's fine.

It has been posted over and over, but yet again here I go. At PAX they announce the Incarnate system as "the future" and that we would be given a "taste" in GR. In no part was Incarnate content solicited as part of GR. It was, in fact, solicited as part of I19. If you read what the break down is for free vs premium vs VIP it has "always" stated VIP is required for Incarnates. This was "never" hidden. CoH always retained they would not be offering a lifetime sub and it's silly that people are upset because there isn't a way to cheat the system and make a lifetime sub. VIPs need a distinction and Incarnate content is it. All you have to do to have access to it is what you've done all along, pay your monthly. Freedom was never meant to be a system where current subscribers stepped down to premium.
  14. The Alpha Slot was promised as a "sneak peak" nothing more. It was removed due to player feedback. And again, there has to be something to distinguish VIP from Premium and this is it. Please read the Eula carefully with regard to their right to make changes to the model and any part therein. The Incarnate system was not touted on the box for GR it was a prerequisite nothing more.

The system was never meant for the existing player base to step down to Premium. No lifetime subscription was promised, in fact it was stated they would not offer such and thereby the Paragon Reward system should not be used as a scapegoat either. If you wish to step away from the game, that is your decision.

Instead of continuing this how about you give some suggestions as to what could benefit VIPs instead of Incarnate exclusivity.
  15. The incarnate system is not listed on the box nor is Going Rogue a continued requirement. Now you must be VIP to access it. It is the main distinction between premium and VIP.

They were going to offer a sneak peak at the incarnate system with Going Rogue. That is all and then they pulled it based on player feedback, not marketing. Sneak peak does not mean it was going to be part of it or inclusive with it if you bought the product.

If you want a lifetime subscription please go find another game that offers such. The fact that this subject keeps popping back up on the forums is ridiculous when the advertising for Freedom stated, all along, you needed to be VIP to access the incarnate system.

Now, I'm all for giving limited access (subscription like IOs) if VIPs get something to compensate for losing something we should have unique access to.
  16. Exactly. They have to have something to grant VIPs. That being end game content. The main theme I see is people were "hoping" a lifetime subscription model would come with Freedom. In one of the very first Ustreams and interviews they stated they would not be including such. Because of that people though the paragon reward system would eventually give them everything. Upon discovering it did not people have become upset. Paragon never stated they would have anything close to lifetime, in fact they stated time and again they would not.
  17. The Alpha slot was going to be a "sneak peak" in Going Rogue. They pushed it back based on player feedback not Marketing. On the main page they have been very clear that incarnate access is only VIP.

The choice to support the game is yours. But, again. VIPs deserve to reap the benefits of their subscription and if it's not Incarnates that is locked away then it "will" be something else.

The argument could be you bought CoH so you should have access to everything because all the features are linked to the main game itself. This boils down to the right of NcSoft to alter subscription and non-subscription content however they wish. It is stated as such in the Eula.
  18. Yay! This is the what # thread about this? No. Incarnates were mentioned as a "Sneak Peak" for Going Rogue and were not part of it. End Game is an incentive to subscribe. Going Rogue gives you the ability to side switch and access to Praetoria. VIPs deserve something for their continued support of the game.

Premium was "never" intended for Subscribers to step down. It was never meant, no matter how much time you have spent in the game, as a means for a Lifetime subscription, a feature Paragon stated they would not be offering at the very beginning.

If you are Premium you should "always" be behind VIPs. Sorry, we support the game, we should reap the bennefits. I'm not saying Premiums don't support the game, but it's on a "I want that basis" and that could mean $0 spent for several months. Ala no continual support.
  19. Loved every minute of this and the ending left an avenue for hope in addition to triumph. Kudos!

    Restart AE

I'm for a better search engine. My SG has used AE consistently and have a large volume of arcs for our group. Definitely, don't want to see them wiped.

    DCnU [Spoilers!]

*cries* Really!? They did what to Starfire?! No... No... No... Uhg! That's a definite slap in my face. Soooo done with DC. Done. Done. Annnnnn done. Should have let Timm take over, he would have shown everything respect. These writers and artists... Uhg! Over it! Flashpoint ended the DCU for me for good. And it's a shame because Static Shock is now one of the best books they have.
  22. Thank you, everyone, that attended the Events tonight. First time I have ever witnessed Lag in Galaxy City. It was a lot of fun and I learned that my Mistelling is absolutely horrid.

From all of us in the All Stars, Galaxy will be sorely missed. Farewell and may the morrow bring new heroes into the world.

    Freedom? Hardly

I just did a little research and if a Player were to spend a small pittance, enough to get through Tier 2, then they will have access to Tells. MOST returning players will likely already have Tier 2 filled which negates the problem.

Again, I'm fine if they can Reply, but not send at the truely free level. Sorry, it's a two way street. I prefer to keep my Tells open so I can help on TFs, groups, etc. I don't want to have to turn it on and off because X amount of RMTers are waiting to spam me. Getting through the second Tier is not hard or very difficult. And, again, for most returning players it is a moot point.
  24. Loved every minute of it and learned a lot thanks for moving your event on short notice.
  25. Just an update to mention we will be combining our event with Hero's Dawn. There Birds of A Feather contest will be first followed by ours two contests and RP. Thank you all for your patience and understanding in this matter. All events will be in Galaxy City.
