*smirk* I will just go ahead and say, yes and we did (two of us I know of) send a carefully worded complaint to NcSoft, not Paragon.
-
Been trying to post this for fifteen minutes, uber late in the am. Guess the forums are starting the swan song early since I keep getting bumped out.
Awesome "K" here of a small YouTube channel that recently relaunched "this week." We have since changed gears to offer a Series Finale type send off for the game.

Thank you Devs and Community. You all will continue on in our hearts. -
I'm sorry all of this NcSoft makes no sense to me.
Was the game profitable and supporting the studio, yes. No sense to cancel.
Guild Wars to had over a million buys prelaunch. Again, no reason to cancel.
This being the month of license renewal with former owner Cryptic, yes. Did Cryptic ask too much and simply refuse, probably.
Sorry, until the smoke clears my angst will not be directed to NcSoft, but rather Cryptic who's lead designer has had failure after failure since leaving. "If" Cryptic or Atari decide to put out a shiney NEW CoH I will then focus all my ire on them because this all smells of corporate backstabbing shinanigans.
So Jack E., who constantly told this community, "No, it's not going to happen." I say the same to you and your team if you decide to rebrand, "No, it's not going to happen. The nail is in your coffin where I'm concerned." -
I couldn't have stated it better myself Bella. I've been on Virtue forever and part of an amazing RP group. Why should we move to the new server when we have an entire community already established on Virtue. Exalted is nice for stressless play, but most of my time is spent with the friends I have on Virtue and some of them are now premium players. I think Exalted not being highly populated states a lot about the VIP community, we don't have a stick up our tushes.
To the point. This thread boils down to wanting things we didn't ALWAYS get for free anyway. We had to pay for some powers before Freedom went live under the guise of expansions. Do new VIPs get them for free now, yes. But we have had time to play around and veteranize our builds.
And please don't get me started on costume sets. We were paying for those outside of expansions.
Nothing has changed and if you want to wait for your stipend of points it won't effect you. Now, we're getting powersets and costume sets much fater than before. I have no problem with this. There's no "pay to win" here because not having the powers or costume pieces doesn't break the game. Patience is all that is lacking and speaking as someone who is now unemployed I will have to play the patience game and I don't mind one bit. -
Greatest thing about Phyllis, she just RECENTLY retired. Up until then she still did an occasional standup routine and voice over spots. Just research and you find she worked on robot chicken.
-
She does, indeed, know something of City of Heroes. And World of Warcraft. And DC Universe Online... Seriously, the Guild is about a group playing an MMO... It's called research people! Of course, being a true Geek, she could also "play" those games when she has time.

I missed the last double XP weekend because I found a GREAT book and sadly, that will happen this weekend. The Libriomancer by Jim C. Hines! I wilst be reading and watching the forums, if nothing else.
Seriously, XP in this game is easy to get and while these double XP weekends are rare, take it with moderation. This community, as the author of this thread stated, is amazing and not beyond helping you level alts, etc. at some future date.
I play no more than an hour at a time then move onto something else; a walk here, a bag of carrots there, and a book read at a coffee shop just to get out and about. Not saying it's bad to play just that your health and time with loved ones is far more important.
Play Responsibly.
Oh, and I'm not kidding. Check out the Libriomancer. Any fan of Read or Die or even Thursday Next will love it. -
Is this a movie about the comic character or the real life stuntman that the character was based after? Yes, the human fly was actually a real stuntman who did indeed wear the costume for benefits and such.
-
Well. if you're missing Tara Strong you COULD buy Lollipop Chainsaw, out this Tuesday at a game retailer near your. (Thus, ends a shameless plug.)

For Marvel it ended for me with "One More Day"
For DC it ended for me with "The New 52"
Rebooting out of two iconic marriages does not fly (or swing) with me. They should have hired writers to end said marriages another way. Mary Jane divorcing Peter after the events of the Civil War would have been believable. The whole "deal with the devil" left a very sour taste in my mouth. Superman and Lois? Maybe this was the best way to end it, but the whole proposal through marriage plot was amazing (especially since it included Doomsday.) Ignoring the past has never set well with readers.
As to Starfire's change, I don't think people are upset that she's not like her cartoon counterpart, it's more like she is now an emtionless sex toy whereas before she was completely full of emotion, heck her powers are based upon it. She reads like drying paint now and its very sad. Again, ignoring the Titans past is part of what is ticking fans off where she is concerned and its not just her. Me, I'm praying they reboot the reboot. All of the energy they had coming off of Blackest Night (a fantastic arc) seems to have petered out and gone poof. -
I'm currently making a list of music inspired by none other than the interwebz. I am looking for songs to add because, currently, the list is really small. Thus, I come to you, the greatest forumites ever, looking for adds.
My Requirements:
1) It can't be anything made popular by radio stations.
2) Parodies are fine, but I'd like to keep it to ONE Weird Al song.
3) It can be from a video game (already have Still Alive from Portal)
4) I would like it to have been something made popular by geek culture and the interwebz.
Currently on the list:
Common Ground (Andy McKee)
Guid Ho! (Dodger)
I Miss Buffy TVS (Megan Gogerty)
Level 30 (Ewan Dobson)
(I'm The One That's) Cool (The Guild, Felicia Day)
Overworld Day (Terraria, Scott Lloyd Shelly)
Signal in the Sky (Apples in Stereo)
Skyrim (Main Theme)
Perform This Way (Weird Al)
1000 Videos (Roomie)
Caramalldansen (Caramell, Speedy Mix)
Still Alive (GLaDOS & Jonathan Coulton)
Party Rock Anthem (LMFAO)
As you can tell it's an eclecic mix, but I'd like some help fleshing it out. Bare in mind I am limited to iTunes for song DLs. -
Missed Korra because for some reason my listings showed Korra, but Nick ran Power Rangers. Boooooo! Immediate deletion. I seriously hope this was my provider's mistake and not Nick's for an underperforming show (PR not Korra.)
-
Why not? I'm about to run through it on my Brute, but first, Unai Kennison's arc.
-
I am not sick of the game, but a little burned out. Thus, I am playing something else, but my account is still VIP until a shiney comes along. I would agree with making menus for AE and PM easier to sift through.

Joss has yet to disappoint. Cabin in the Woods was so over-the-top amazing and to be followed up by this... Wow. Not since the Matrix have I wanted to see a movie repeatedly in the theater. The opening weekend pretty much guaruntees the next film and to have Marvel's big bad looming for it... I can't wait.

I RP on Virtue, but I never see RPers in Broadcast in Atlas, it is a rarity. I do see them ussing the classic ((*insert text between the bars*)) for their broadcasts, thereby identifying themselves as a roleplayer. If this is what you are complaining about then turn broadcast off. That shows a little disdain toward a portion of this online community that is just taking their own fun to a different level of immersion. The brackets merely showcase that that person is a roleplayer and shouldn't be viewed as spam or a reason to form this opinion. If you don't like RPers switch to a server were it's less abundant or turn broadcast off from your main chat window.

I didn't expect much this week. 8th anniversary stuff is today!

Speaking as someone who tried a pure PvP game, Lineage 2, I will make my statement pure and simple.
1) I don't PvP because of griefers. The PvP crowd will stand up and say they disapprove of players like this, but that doesn't change the fact they these players exist. I want no part of it and joined CoH for PvE content.
2) PvP servers are great for people who want a little more lively competition, but outside of WoW PvP servers have very low server populations.
3) Forcing people, throughout an entire game that is currently based on PvE, to do world PvP should never happen. You will lose players rather than gain. PvP zones, yes. Forced world PvP, no.
4) I will not PvP because someone, a real person, has to lose and the guilt/frustration will be there. I do not play CoH for Stress, I play it for fun. -
On the Avengers: Looks like both the Civil War and Secret War storylines are in motion. They must have long term plans for the show. Good.
Ultimate Spider-Man: Uhg! Hate the rework on Venom. Hate that Nova is not Richard Rider. This show is aweful. Off my DVR as well.
Legend of Korra: I have a sneaking supicion that the masked individual is either the Firelord or related to him in some way. Again, the show's creators know how to pull an audience in. I am very excited to see how this is all going to unfold. -
Ok, okay, just got home and watched the TROVE of Saturday toonage annnnd:
Legend of Korra: Great Start. Love the sport with bending.
Green Lantern: Bombshell #1 with Razor.
Thundercats: Bombshell #2 with Tigra.
Young Justice: Bombshell #3, 4, 5, annnnd 6. Not Spoiling it at all.
As Aqualad stated, "Today was a good day!" -
It could also be argued that if you were not present things could be much much worse. Syanapse, Numina, and Manticore could all be casualities if you had not been present to prevent as such. The Midnighter Club might have been overrun, put your brakes on before you argue not so, Darren Wade could have used it as an opportunity to reap even more rewards. I feel he stalled because there was a legitamate hero present.
True, some portions of the arc are preset, but anyone who has played any decent roleplaying game knows the action sometimes takes a life all its own (cutscenes.) I have enjoyed the story as it unfolds and want to see more signature story arcs in the future. -
"I don't think anyone will be choosing (arrest) when it comes to Wade, if given the option." After playing through the arc, with my friend, I can tell you emotions are currently running high. Just... speechless at this point.

For the Accolade revamp and making some require more?! No! No! and No! They revamped some badges to make it easier for us to obtain; some of the more difficult ones. I do not want to have to do more to get something. However, I am not opposed to adding different accolades that include requirements from others. This would seem to be more intuitive because while you're working on one you are working toward another as well that may, in fact, have steeper requirements.
