I thought bases would be a lot cooler if there were a couple buildings in the zone that allowed access to them instead of the blue, glowey column. Like, an office complex/apartment building in the zones. As you get the teleport beacons, you can upgrade the building that facades the base.

Eh, I don't know. That column was just kinda a surprise.

What I got from it, States is surprised by player behaviour... frequently. About bases, about griefing, about alot of things.

Hrmm... maybe he needs to roll a lowbie alt on Freedom...

It was added to the SG in one lump sum, not listed on each players earnings. The total of the SG's prestige on the settings screen should reflect the bonus.

I bet there's some UBER SECRET spot the devs use just to be cool... like you talk to a fire hidrent or type in a certian command or something... like go into a telephone booth and type /superman or something... and it gives you XP for lvl 50 I swear game developers do this all the time, I know I would if i was a game developer...

When we play on the development servers or Training Room, sure... but when we play on Live servers even we dont get any special commands or cheats. We level up just like the rest of you... I know I will be on with my Dominator a bunch this weekend.

I don’t believe this is 100% true, I was on once not to long ago when CuppaJo made an appearance for a super group costume contest that one of the SG’s arraigned.
She logged on as a level 1 Fire/Fire blaster and then suddenly she was an untrained level 50.
So there is a /code to level.

I think their signature characters have different options available to them than if they just log on a start an alt.

I'm sure there are codes for them to zone in as special characters. And I've certainly seen GMs exercise very interesting control over the environment.

But I think Positron is saying when they actually *play* on the live servers, they don't explicitly use special level up codes. Its probably like the difference between logging in as a normal user, and logging in as root.


In fact, since they can create special characters for special events, and can test anything they want on their internal servers and the test server, why would they even need such a code when they play conventionally?

/agree with this. States has said previously, they have alts. Lots of them. States said he likes PuG's and he plays on all the servers. If I remember he also said a couple of the devs are in player run SG's, but he wouldn't give up any names. Seems no one knows who they are which would be hard to pull of if they used a cheat code, and they like the anonymity.

Who knows, every single player that's ever joined a random PuG may have played with one or more devs.

[/ QUOTE ]you know, this could be a hysterical new contact pairing to add to the game, the contact is cuppajo, or some variation therein so that its obvious its referencing her, and every mission you have to talk to an insect themed superheroine krikkit. anyhow how it would work is every time you contact cuppa, she gies you this rosey description of this teeny tiny job states has and she tells you about all the cool artifacts, and heroic deeds associated with it, and then sends you to krikkit, who then reacts astonished to the description you got and proceeds to tell you about all the baddies and monsters, basicly lets you know that this is very likely the end of life in the universe as we know it , or how the good event has gone horribly wrong. example follows.

cuppa:good news rian frostdrake, the freedom phlanx recognizes your tireless dedication to justice, and thinks you could use a friend to help you unwind after a hard day's work, so we got you a puppy, states wanted you to have it, ask krikket where hes being stored so you can pick him up.

Krikket: bad news, the puppy played with luminary too long , hes now a mutated 8 foot tall warwolf, you ahve to go defeat him before he eats kings row.
(note: this could actually be used to unlock a "decorative" base item, a nameable pet warwolf who just walks around looking menacing, ala creature handlers pets in their houses in star wars galaxies)

$15, but I've actually seen CoV on sale for below that recently. You can get it at GoGamer for $14.90 +S&H, for example. No good reason to not take advantage of it when it's below $15. You actually end up getting the game for free (or even getting some money back) when you take the free month into consideration.
