Mega Jamie and everyone else has more or lessed summed up my feelings about the segregation.
(Yes the Server list merge would stop the segregation)
(My words may be inadequate, but I'll try anyway and sorry for misspellings)
Because we are on two different server lists, we are in effect two different communities with seperate treatment. NA server list gets a much bigger focus then the EU (cause thats where the game, company you are) and the chances for Dev interaction is there. Specially during tests, like the new BAF (and Positrons announcement on Facebook). NA test will be packed and very active, cause that is the standard test server for the company. It will be packed also with Devs testing for bugs.
Thus I as an EU player gets the feeling that our test server is just a show, its there to give us the chance or there cause NA has one, but not much of our bugs etc that we find will be taken much notice of, cause the NA will either already have found them or other reasons.
That is my general feeling (I hope I am wrong).
Well what I try to say is that things happen on the NA servers, there are more servers to choose from, the majority of the playerbase is there.
Merging the serverlists is therefor a major wish (specially) from the EU. Because then we could be one community and we would have equal oppertunities to online events (like tests) or maybe unknown for us a dev/CC that would play on our server or join a raid something.
I do remember fondly that one of the last things I saw Mod8 do was to attend the Hami Raid on Union. It was just before christmas and the servers went down for a hotfix. After an hour the server where back up again and I tried as hard that I could to give Union the Hami Raid. Mod8 joined the raid and put up a nice Red text announcing the Hami raid. (I feel that helped getting players to the zone). And he joined in one of the teams and played with us. That is one sweet memory which I'm thankfull for. -
Great if you want to lead put up a request on which teams that has yet to get a member
(if not i'll put you down on reserve *grin*)
-
I think it is time for once more to go into the Breach. Aka time for another Hamidon Raid.
So I hope there will be plenty of people attending this raid at Friday 25'th February.
We will start as normal at 7pm GMT inside the Hive (Hero side).
From prior experience at that time the Hive was full, so if you want to be certain to get in, join us in good time. Also teams will begin to be made as soon as I get enough Team leaders and players to get into that team. (hint)
So hope to see you then, lets all get some Gello (and shards).
As always, the Raid will need team leaders. If your interested in leading a team then do give me a tell/pm. If you want to lead, but are unsure on what to do, then that knowledge will be given.
RaidLeader/Coordinator: Lady Arete with Cyrene
Main Hami Tank Leader: Brother Smash with BrotherPain
Yellow Mito Tank West: Soul Storm with Soul Incendia
Yellow Mito Tank East: Zoph with Zoph or Thenai
Melee Damage Team: Tsumiju Zero
Ranged Damage Team: Damz
Holder Team Leader: Mini-Nukette with Stela
Aux Team Leader: Vacant
List of
Reserve Team Leaders: -
I agree with Tamedragon here Steelclaw.
Its your $'s, you pay for your gametime, you make your rules on how to play the game your way.
Don't stop making the self satire, (you do it too good), please.
As always, my hat is off for you Steel. Although I do wish you would find a way in your system that would not make you delete your loved chars and start from scratch all the time, as well as enjoying the level 50 content
Again, you have fun with your spreadsheets and your tournament and thats what matters.
*rushes off to join Tamedragon in reading the japanese list again* -
To the one who leads the Hami Raid (if that has been decided):
Do set a date, ask players if they want to lead a team and get your team leaders briefed on their role.
Then you'd want to create your binds.
You want the following binds:
1: Start Single target buffing
2: Start AoE buffing
15 sec or less later
3: Main hami tank, gogogo (or something like that)
Fly above and when you see the main hami tank is inside and getting the alpha (or just before)
4: Yellow Tank Teams. Hami is taunted Gogogo
When you then see the tankers going to their target (timing is good).
5: Raid force (Everyone else) you know your targets Gogogo
You will also need to have a bind for the following (ooo so NEEDED)
Retreat!!::Retreat!!::Retreat!!
(In the event that you see a lot of players on the ground aka team wipe, or to prevent team wipes... or for when the mito bloom (mito respawn) happens) Make the Retreat bind as simple as possible (and hit it 2-3 times, that will get the attention of the raiders).
Just don't hit it so fast and so often that you get silenced for spam ;D (happened to me once)
Other useful binds are "Yellow mito are Dead" "Blue mito are dead".. but not needed. But things you will say alot, you'd better put on binds.
And also making a macro or two for Melee and Ranged main Targeter. (So players attack the same target when they go for the kill.)
Like: Leaders for this raid are: Main Tank team (PLAYERNAME), Melee Damage (PLAYERNAME2) etc...
Its useful for when there comes several players who asks for team.
Remember Raid leader. You are there to lead the raid, not micromanage the teams. The above bind will help you get much less tells.
How a raid goes:
Lately we have begun the making of teams before we do the spawning (due to alot of players showing up in good time).
When hami is spawned all head to cowards hill.
If the teams are all ready, then you as Raid leader will simply give a quick version of what to expect.
Like 4 rounds of mito bashing, fighting clockwise (or anti clockwise).
Give the team leaders 5 min or so to explain what their team is going to do and then ask for team status.
(On union I've made a global channel where all team leaders are invited and I use that channel to get team status and eoe status).
When all the mitos are dead and we attack hamidon I tell rezzers and tp'ers to head back to safety and warn the players when we are nearing the 75%, 50% and 25% Hamidon Health mark. Cause at those intervalls we get the mito bloom.
I suggest (even though it takes a little longer) to start of with everyone running back to cover when the Mito bloom hits.
One way to do the battle (yet to do) is for Yellow tank teams to taunt the mito right after the mito bloom. But I imagine it takes a little more coordination, so i'd advice Fleeing and hiding and prepping for next wave.
(And make certain to tell players that if they get hami aggro... not to hide amongst alot of other players! The AoE will hit them aswell and that means an even longer raid (due to rezzing!).
---
There going to give some time to digest all that info. Good luck with the preperations and do give me a pm or ask if you need some help to organize it, bind help etc -
This sounds good.
I remember when I was playing Anarchy Online there was something called Arks (Advisors of Rubi-ka). Most of them where players that got into a Helper program. They did get an interview (i suppose) and started their career as "Greeter".
They greeted new players and came with advice, making certain that the player knew more on how the game did work.
Players had to have a char above lvl 50 (total game level went up to 200 + 20 shadow levels), but what mattered was their willingness to help make a good community.
As players, yes we loved them
Seeing such a program here as well is great. Just hope (for reasons mentioned) that there will be some kind of program of recruitment or some supervision of channels etc. Cause we don't want Jerk345 (made up name) becoming a Helper and start dissing and bringing false information to the new player.
Looking forward to where this is going though -
Quote:Well true, while being the God of War he do not appear to be one of strenght. The one eyed man do favour to be in his old man form, beard and long hair. And a lot of the time he's depicted as such.
The rest of the time he looks like a Gandalf wannabe.
The mysterious old, decripid man that walks unnoticed in Midgard, who puts tasks to mortals and Gods alike. A man with many names who nobody recognizes as Odin.
And he has been doing this for a long time.
You got it it backwords. I love Tolkien and specially Gandalf (wizards), but I'd rather say that Gandalf looks alot like Odin (minus the eye thing). Thus Gandalf is a Odin Wannabe.
(Although Gandalf do take more care and have more love for the people in Midgard.)
Hmm you missed Jormundgard, Fenris, Hunin and Munin, Gere and Freke (the two wolves of Odin), Skade (quick english translation "damage/hurt".. by hurt you get wise... I know... poor translation from a norwegian proverb), she was the wife of the father to Freya and Frey, the god of waters (fish etc); Njord. -
Be thankful your not on the Eu server list then, at least if your on the NA you have 11 servers.
We got 4, and two of them (if you do not speak French or German) are useless to you.
Myself, Union list is beginning to get filled up, so I decided it was time to branch out a little and getting to know people on another server.
But even then Defiant do have several chars I've just not had the heart to delete (transfered during free transfer).
But yes, do transfer those less used to another server that you some time in the future... might be playing.
Have fun -
Hmm, since you did ask. Here it goes
Lady Arete, giving a wink while reading a book.
Your choice if it is a chibi or not.
Click for Refs -
My two incarnates are
Lady Arete (fire/fire/fire blaster)
Cyrene (Emp/sonic defender)
Mostly because those are my most used lvl 50 and only ones. Okay.. apart from my lvl 50 robotic/force field mastermind also lvl 50, but gathering dust. I .. just.. cannot get myself to play her anymore.
I got no problem starting a tf, but these days when I log on other players are crafting tfs and well... I just hopp into one of them. -
Well was not me who was leader. I was the 6'th or 7'th member
It was a good team led by Rad -
I do wonder about the GUI that we can use vs Hamidon.
However 6 x 8 is 48. A zone can take 50.
I wonder if this will mean that the Raid leader have to invite players...
or how easy it will be for the RL to see what is needed (gah more detailed management for one player).
I do wonder though, if this means that if there are 48 players then it will be the following?
Raid leader invites or you join the lfg que, etc.. and get a Hive all for yourself.
I do wonder though what will happen if a player goes DC, will that place be empty until the player returns, can a new player be recruited, and if a new player is recruited, will the DC player that comes back be barred from zone?
Guess we will find out soon enough.
I do like though that all things will be recorded, that you have to contribute to the trial. I get the feeling of public quests aka Warhammer online here.
Well at least the system -
Ok. Title says it all (well maybe not all). EERC is the short version of European Event Resource Comitee.
To help us make some events we thought up this little survey (kind of thing) for you to answer. If you could post here or give a little tell in game or pm on the forum that would be great.
1. What is it that you never have done, but would like to do?
It could be in-game or out of game, but has to be something with CoX. Write as many things as possible.
2. What days would be best to things in-game?
Weekdays or Weekends?
...
Right, that was two questions, but nr 1 is the most important
My list:
I have never gotten any character up to level 50 on Defiant, I would like to.
I have never gotten a melee character to level 50 on any server, but I would like to.
I have never led a Hamidon Raid on Defiant, but I would like to.
I have never been on a lower level Task force and not died.
I have never done a death race on hero side (I was on a halloween death race on vill side... was FUN)
I have never hosted a costume contest, I sure would like to.
I have yet to get the Mo LRSF and MO Barricuda (I'll keep doing it until i get them)
I have yet to make make myself friends with alot of new players on Defiant (Still feel like a visitor)
I have yet to make a proper beast character with concept.
I have yet to get a male character above lvl 30.
I have not been into a proper PVP tournament.
I have never been to a successful Hamidon Raid villain side, but would like to.
I've never properly teamed players primarily from Defiant, but I would like to.
I have never done a TF marathon, (and not sure if...) but would like to have tried.
Edit:
Forgot that:
I have never done a only AT X TF (X being one particular Archtype, like Defender, or Blaster) -
I want to thank all members for a very enjoyable Khan. We had a little over 30 min to start and finish the Khan (due to maintanence).
It was short, but very enjoyable (30 min and 5 sec). 3 secs after i chose my reward.. forcefully shut out -
Hello everyone. I do hope you will do a raid.
I'm one of the Raid Leaders against Hamidon on Union server. I've written a little guide (sticky) on Union. Feel free to read it and use it.
The Tips to a Raid Leader would simply be the following. Get your 6 team leaders into the plan, let them know their role so they can make certain their team knows their role.
This has at least been the key for me. Having 7 players I know and can trust doing their task makes leading the raid a LOT easier.
The way we do it on Union is 2 yellow mito tank teams (3 "tankers" in each).
One hamidon main tank team.
(The three above uses alot of emps and tanks (players that can take damage and has taunt))
Holder team for the greens.
Ranged Damage team for the blues.
Melee damage team (with a rad) against the yellows.
Aux team: This team consists of those players that do not get into the core team (you might have had too many tankers or too many blasters etc...) and this team aids as best as it can the core groups.
If Defiant is wanting a hami raid and a raid leader feel they need some advice, DO give me a pm/tell. I want to do my part in letting players (who have experienced, but also players who are new to Hamidon) experience a successful Raid.
Currently I have no char to help with, but working on it.And hoping to make a few defiant players (who has alts on union) experience the Raid, so they can return to Defiant and get you guys Raiding as well
-
Then we where 2 Tsu, then we where to (with the wwwwwhhhaaat?)
But yes, the right decision was to fight, thankfully the rest of the teams did what was right. Yellows where taunted and they fought.
Made me proud even if it was a ... *shrug* keep attacking moment -
Even though the Raid did not go quite according to plan, it was a good raid. Well done everyone.
Having Real life take their toll on two of the team leaders (making them unable to attend prior to start or during the raid) was a shock and not good surprise.
But what I loved was that I had back up people and when I did find out that I lacked one leader (why where there so many unteamed tanks... I wondered) I did ask and the player joined the ranks as team leader.
I think it was a first for him as well, but he accepted (and we gave him the info he needed) and he led the team.
I loved the fact that this was the first time raid for many and they fought Hami with success.
And I loved that the teams at the end was going on such automaton (25% mito marker) that they leaped into action even before my all clear.
(For some reason my graphics failed to show the main tanker amidst everything and I waited .. and waited.. for him to show and suddenly every team was in there doing their thing)
Gave me a good surprise. So thank you everyone for another great raid.
(Begins to plan the next) -
And another Raid successfully completed.
New Leaders got to try themselves and players did experience Hamidon raid for the first time...
Yeay -
Where did that list come from, OP?
... Oh dear my search fu just got weak! -
I'd rather watch wet paint dry then see a Trial getting a Mo badge.
The new Mo's of Apex and Tin man.. = YES.
The Old system... Heck no (I'll go over there and watch the paint dry... its more fun) -
I thought so too (a start). Now do ask in a few of those channels (team with a few players etc) if they are taking new recruits in their sg's. Tell them your preferences and I believe you will get into an active sg quickly.
-
Update: vs 1.9.1
Some cosmetic ones (color coding)
Added the 5 new badges with the Strike Pack.
Fixed some ghost badges in the sheet.
See Changes for details.
Link to new version is in first post. -
Simple Bunny.
Just make a battle with the contestants in it, then announce the battle to take place and everyone can go in as observers (camera view).
Looking exiting though, so see you on Saturday, if not before. -
I do not have any God characters.
My namesake had already through a magical ritual tapped into a Phoenix's power. (Quite some time before she became a hero)
The Incarnate stuff are simply added bonus (new powers, effects, what ever is planned), new ways for it to manifest itself. (Besides Rise of the Phoenix)
Cyrene, my singing nature lover, wont become a God, but, getting more in touch with her mythical self.
God characters are simply... BORING. Having a God walk up to you in a bar just... is not... plausible. (Unless done very very well) Such a "God" would simply be a big lumbering, drunk of a fool with delusions of Godhood.
However being "touched" so your a bit stronger that is ok, by me. I do not think though we need to worry about our characters becoming Gods. Just slightly or more "touched by". -
IMPORTANT CHANGE
I was pursuaded to put the start time one hour in the future...
So We will start at 7pm GMT (8pm CET).
I just hope more players will attend due to this.
Also we did get a nice share of EoE's (despite the hot fix maintanence).
so AGAIN. SEVEN PM GMT
