Um I do not know where u been hiding but tanks DO get KB protection besides DA and FA. Most have a toggle with there mez prot, and few have a click able power with there mez prot that gives them KB prot.
SR - Practice brawler KB pro 10 click able
SD - Activate Defense KB prot 10 Click able
Stone - Rooted, Granite Kb pro 10 each both 20 toggle
WP - indomitable will KB prot 10 toggle
Ele - Grounded KB prot 15 always active and need to be on ground
Inv - unyielding KB prot 10 toggle
Ice - wet Ice KB prot 10
  3. yes if u go to the left side u get more res, right side u get more def but u also get more aggro with it on the right side, plus UNLIKE assault it is a toggle where as assault u have to wait a 2 min cool down. I took the left side for the res to cap it out on some of my toons, and i have noticed some good things with it, plus the regain is auto and always on.

Taunt auras are a seperate matter.
Then how is it i lose aggro on my SR/MA tank and do not on me SD/BA tank which has the same type of slotting? I have even took aggro from others on my SD/BA tank befor Not with the taunt aura.

    HAMI Taunt

I have tanked HAMI on a few of my tanks, 2 of which have the same type of IOs and slotting in it but 1 of them it seems like its taunt is weeker then the other one. My SD/BA tank has taunt 4 slotted with mocking and has no problem holding on to the aggro, now for my SR/MA tank i loose aggro real fast, and it is not just HAMI is the SR taunt weaker then the other tank sets? I have it 4 slotted with the same IOs as my SD/BA tank.

And if you're the only one willing to use Taunt, then communicate with your team. Or don't use it, and allow others to generate more threat. But an example like the BAF is hardly Tanker specific (you're telling me no one else in those examples gets Sequestered, just you?). Either way, you're talking more about an issue of teamwork than game mechanics. That devs can't be expected to force teams to communicate more.

The end-game content was always meant to be more difficult. Some amount of adapting is to be expected. Did you really think you'd always be able to just stand next to the big baddies without thinking about your health and swinging your fists all day? That's what regular content is for.
I am not saying i am the only one that gets held what i am saying is when i move away so not to get others held but when i do move even with others with taunt or others holding them they still follow me some times. Plus on your second comment i never said what u are saying nore anyone else, what we are saying is if u do stay by him u have no chance of survival with the 1 hit KO attacks lot of them have. Pay attention to what ppl are saying. Takeing damage is 1 thing where u can recover from it via greens or heal powers but u can not recover from it when u get KOed by 1 hit.

The main issue with this even on tanks, if there is no other tank or brute then the baddies will follow the tank when u try to move out of range. I have had that happen may times when i am tanking some times even when there was other ppl that could take the aggro for me. Especially in the BAF.
  9. If u do it just right you wont need leadership pool i would switch that out with hast.

That is what I mean where u have to break contact of them where a range toon can still attack. If your are melee with no range attacks and u are constantly running away from the big attacks unlike in reg content then u will be either 1 shotted or come close to dieing where 1 more small hit will take u out and u can not heal in time. I have been there on a tank with max res and still died with in 2 hits.

Actually I see not only is there a problem with tanks but also for most melee ATs out there, BAF u get 3 rings your held, trying to stop the inmates from escaping while running back and forth. LAM crates/capsules trying to target them when a range AT has them scattered, Maurader doing his big attack where the melee has to break off to not to get killed, MoM the purple rings may I say more? Keys getting disintegrated as u fight anti, his big attack thats melee, TPN getting marked for death while fighting Maelstorm, UG getting close and then getting confused on the last AV, fighting the leach infested War walkers, and a few other spots, Mag getting to close to neo pendragon, chaseing after cim, the final fight where he dose his electric attack, I have yet done the DD but all the others it seems to me that the ranged AT has a bigger advantage then any of the melee toons out there.

Any idea when it will come out?

So, after taking your suggestions into account and a little bit of tweaking I've come up with the build that will usher me into my first level 50 tank (which will happen tonight!). It's worth noting that I'm operating on an influence stash that never seems to get much higher than 120'ish million, and my picks reflect that. Restrictions included:

    -No PvP or Purple IOs
    -Flight was a must
    -No Hasten
-I really like Repulsing Torrent :3

Unfortunately had to mule IOs into Kick to get S/L up there, but with this El Cheapo build I have S/L/E/N soft-capped, 750% regen, 4.53/s recovery (1.46/s drain), and 3211 HP (hoping that 1 HP doesn't come back to haunt me ).

I'll be able to reclaim slots and pump more into resists/regen down the road once I'm able to get my hands on some of the good stuff, but this has been working out pretty well for me thus far. Thanks again!
Ok a few things you are a melee toon, both Kick and Repulsing Torrent are both KB attacks not good for a melee toon, even worse for a melee toon who needs enemy's to be near to get the best out of what you are playing.

    Wp/SS Tank

I see couple things wrong with this build first off the gussan set is better for positional def then typed, FA is end heavy as well as maneuvers. Not to mention the 3 slots there is giveing u over the rule of 5 on it in maneuvers. The 3 steadfast is not doing u much good there u just need the steadfast def, u already have KB prot of 10 not much out there that can KB u with it so the extra +4 is just a wast. I would put a taunt IO in RttC to help get aggro from enemies which is your taunt toggle which is on of the weakest in the game. Me personally I would never take leadership pool on a WP tank for it is easy to SC without it. My build is different then yours but if u like u can check it out. I do not have my incarnates slotted on it yet.

Inf is really not that difficult to come by if you try hard enough to get it.

I never said your build was a bad build. Ever. I stated that here is my .02 inf and posted my build which you immediately responded and tore apart. I then proceeded to defend myself on it. I even kept saying that building for defense was okay, never said it was bad. I was merely defending my view point on the subject. I have built many Tanks as a member of the RO Network and had many people come to me for advice on them. Nobody has ever said my builds were terrible and that I didn't know what I was doing. I've had quite the opposite reaction.

I understand wanting to build for defense, don't get me wrong. But there are more than two ways to skin a cat. I used to rely heavily on building for Defense until I noticed my Tanks were getting ripped apart by enemies that have a ton of Defense Debuff and shred those defenses faster than I can pop Healing Flames, Dull Pain, or any other form of self heal. So I switched to a different stance and started building my Tanks based off of their particular strengths they can play to. As you'll notice, I do put some form of Defense in the build to try to mitigate some of the incoming damage. I just don't focus heavily on trying to soft-cap them anymore as what is the use of having fully soft-capped defenses if you have nothing to keep those defenses from being tore down in a matter of seconds.

Yes I know it sounds like I'm saying that you will always be hit and have your defenses shredded no matter what. I know this is not always true either. But when it happens, boy does it happen. Like someone else said Defense is great for Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss, FACEPLANT! And that is how it goes with any Toon based off of Defense. You tool around just fine for a while, but once it goes south, it goes south FAST. This has been my experience and this is why I now build the way I do. I would rather have the high resistance so I don't take as much damage when I get hit as trying to rely on never getting hit and taking a crapton of damage when I do get hit.
Ok first I never been good at playing the market, 2 GET OUT OF AP. One of the things that I really hate is having some one who has no idea how to play there toon joining a team im on because they PLed there toon,, or brag how many lvl 50s they have and do not know where PI or GV is or try to get on an ITF just to find out they do not have access and has no idea how to get there in the first place. I like to avoid AE farms ty very much.

    Build Advice

HUm huh ok wow u need way more def in s/l/en/neg for starters. The miracle+rec in DP is not doing u any good till u activate that power. Having a full set of steadfast in res elements is not a good idea, having fly 2 slotted is not a good idea. You are over slotted in physical perfection. Most ppl usually go 2 or 3 slotted there. U do not need the guassan set in rage use the rect for that it will help more. The KB prot in the steadfast set is not really needed in a Inv tank since u are already have 10 KB prot. and very little can go past that. Foccuse acc is an end hog i would switch that out with something else completely. These are some of the things ive noticed.
