Quote:Um a ya to bad the servers are down or i would roll up a dom for red side.Tomorrow!
Get your level 1 Blaster and / or level 1 Dominator rolled up in advance to participate in the races. 1.7 billion inf and 1,000 merits total in prizes! (for the Friday portion, additional prizes for the Sunday portion)
After the races, see you at the ship raid: 100 million to whoever gets the GM defeat! -
Quote:You are over the rule of 5 with both sweep strike and one thousand cuts with the cleaving blow. Plus the OP wanted to keep Hover. Also your attacks are lacking acc, the ones with just the KC in them. I usually put in another slot for ACC in them. I switched some of them around for the OP.Here's an example if you went positional defensive route. Might work better

Quote:Well I know lot of people like my self that have Tanks on every server we go to mainly on Champions and Justice where we do it every month, first, and second Tuesday respectively. And on Freedom, Virtue alternating every other month. Also on Defiant, and Union every third Saturday alternating every other month. then the forth we go to a different server every month, and if there is a fifth Tuesday we get to go to 1 other one.Last night I joined my first TT ever (on Infinity) and had a blast! I was on the STF team and we "got 'er dun". I actually learned something about my tank and where he ranks on an AV's threat list (not as high as I would like, I tended to lose aggro even if I was the first to jump in and smack the AV).
I don't have a lot of tanks across the servers but I'll definitely keep an eye out for when I can join up for a future TT. -
I was on the mish team for awhile and quit the team to let another tanker joined. But was able to get back on it a little while longer.
-
I was on a sister P TF and my toon got stuck in a grate tried to use the /stuck and was still stuck in there. Had to get some one to TP me out. Missed most of the mish because of it. A few years back I was stuck in a grate in CF and had to get some one to TP me out of that one too. Do not have the screen for that one anymore but here is the one for the sister P TF.
-
Also you will not get the benefits from grounded if you do use Hover, IE mez protection, and KBs. Mez like holds, imm, sleep. If you look around on this forum u can find my build for my Ele/DB tank.

Oh wow ya your going to have major end issue with this build just glancing at it. First off you only have 4 KB protection and thats not really good, try to get atleast 8-12 protection. Also those purples in your attacks are doing you really nothing but costing u infl. Switch them out with Kinetic Combat 4 of them and then put in something else to help with acc. Your leadership pull is costing u major end issues, and you did not take FE? I would get rid of kick, also change out the taunt IOs out of tremor since they really aint doing you no good, replace them with eradication 3 or 4. Also replace the rest with RA to give u better S/L def. Have I miss anything?
-
Question I have r u going to be a hover tank?

Quote:I have been playing a tank now for a little over 6 years and I have also seen people who say that they do not need taunt and next thing you know they lose aggro and the squishy that got it dies. So yes I am saying no taunt=bad tank. There is many times in the game where your going to need taunt. Keeping hold of AVs, getting the baddies off of squishy to keep them alive, doing HAMI. An emp might be able to get by on the other buffs but it is better with heals to keep team alive, just like a Tank needs to hold aggro off of the rest of the team. And yes I have been on a squishy with a tank that was just like you, they have been playing a Ice tank for over 5 years and they lost aggro from an AV because they had no taunt. I died. So I am a firm believer that a Tank should have Taunt.Pretty sure an Emp can get by without the heals. The rest of the buffs in that set are what makes it so good, not the actual heals. Of course there are situations that the Heals would be good for.
If you're trying to say something like "no taunt = bad tank" I have to strongly disagree. My tank is probably about 4.5 years old. I leveled him without taunt and tanked every bit of content for 3 years without taunt. I only recently added (like beginning of the year) taunt to the build to make things like tanking buffed LR a bit easier.
The addition of Taunt is great for aggro management. However, if you're diligent and good at staying active, Ice Armor can get by without it. It's a playstyle choice, is what I'm getting at. Either way can be successful with a majority of content. Of course there will be situations that Taunt will be more beneficial or make tanking easier. -

Quote:A tank without taunt is like a emp without healI prefer the tauntless style, and completely agree that Ice/ doesn't need Taunt - while leveling. However, it also requires a more active playstyle to be good at it, which some players may not be into.
High level content does warrant its use, as well as Shield Defense, which seems capable of stealing aggro from you. There have been other threads on the issue. Basically Ice/ can 'get by' without Taunt, but it certainly has its uses.
That's why I respec'd Taunt into my ice/ice/soul build in the level 49 slot after playing Tauntless for years.
Quote:You comments on Ice's resistance is a bit misinformed. You forget about the -dmg in CE. Lowering the damage of your attackers is similar to having personal resistance for yourself. This applies to all forms of damage, too (not sure on untyped damage like Hamidon, though). -
Well first off you did not take fiery embrace which will help you with some of your damage. Second the third Stead fast is not helping you much since you already past thee rule of 5 with your HP. I would also suggest of switching out your gaussiun set with 2 RR which you will get a little more S/L def and 2 recharge. Use the extra slots from that and temp protection into some of your attacks for more acc. Usually a quad mako. I would also change BA and FS with probably Eradication 4 of them and 2 scirocco's to help with the end. BA is very end heavy. You really do not need temp protection, and the 5th slot of RA for you do not come into contact with cold or fire damage much. If this is for the AE fire farm you are already max on fire res. But I also see that you have KB protection so I am going to assume that you also do reg content with this toon. If it is for reg content thumbs up.
-
1 you do not need the KB protection, 2 like Rangle said about the slow/recharge, 3 you have to get 2 or 3 slots for the benefit when it is so low and you can get it better with other IOs.
-
Quote:I remember when i got a tell from Plucky Side kick when I was on that toon.I remember running around before Global Names looking for LSK when I first heard that there was another sidekick around. One of my friends told me that there was a "Lady Sidekick" on Justice.
I just had to say Hi to whoever it was that would actually make another sidekick character. -
-
Why do u have a stealth IO in SJ? You are only stealth if it is active. Also do have the vet badge to get the travel power at lvl 6?
-
Quote:I have 2 standard IO recharge, and 2 RR in my rage and without spiritual i still have perma rage. YOU DO NOT i repeat DO NOT need spiritual just to get perma rage.Oh good grief.
If you pop open your manage window to look at your sets, there are "Show Detailed Info Here" buttons above all three columns. Click on one, hover over Rage.
We find it gives buffs for 2 minutes, and recharges in 4 minutes.
In seconds, it's up for 120, recharge in 240.
One even SO is 33 percent recharge, so the 240 second recharge is divided by 1.333.
240/1.333 = 180. So one even SO cuts the recharge from 4 minutes to 3 minutes.
240/1.666 = 144. Two even SO's cuts it to 2 minutes, 24 seconds.
240/1.950 = 123. Three even SO's leaves you 3-ish seconds from overlap, due to ED penalties.
So, you need to eke out a few moar percents. L53 SO's should do it with three of them.
But that's dumb.
I recommend 2 level 50 IO recharges and the Spiritual alpha. That'll give you right around 120 percent recharge.
240/2.200 = 109 seconds. Voila! Ten seconds of overlap, you never suffer the -20 percent defense. You WILL suffer the damage crash and the hefty endurance hit.
Hopefully that answers your questions. -
