Usally after the HAMI on fri night, and sat night, and some times after HAMI on sundays if starborn dose not do something else. There is a list of global channels where you can find out more there. IE Freedom Hami Raids.
  4. Couple of things ive noticed on both builds the first one 7 pts of KB prot wont help much since most end game dose do 10 pts of KB on the second build oblits, and gusan is more for positional def not typed def and both cost way to much end. Maneuvers in the second build is not a good idea since u can get S/L def without it not to mention it is another end hog. Temp prot is not really needed on a FA tank since it dose little good since u can get max fire res without it, and for slow just add in a winters gift. Also the oblits puts u over the rule of 5. Here is a few things i did to improve a bit of your reg and def.

  5. Your build is pretty much the same as your first with those 3 slots added. Like I said you really do not need temp prot and tuff should have 1 more slot to get the best out of it. Your KB prot is little low for lot of the end game content. You really do not need the leadership pool to get to SC maneuvers cost more end then the benefits. I would wait on getting BA till little later when u can handle being attacked at a later lvl, HF would of tooken it as soon as u can. 3 steadfast is a little wast with the Kinetic combat which is over the rule of 5 there for the HP. The oblits on mauk build is more for positional def not typed def and also an end hog. The way the game calculates the def is it will take the higher def IE if you get attacked by something that is S/L dam and melee damage it will take the higher value so if your s/l is 45 and melee is 39 it will take the s/l so trying to get the positional up there is a wast to do.
  6. There is some stuff i would of taken earlier IE fiery embrace and healing flames, not to mention lot of end content has a KB of 10 in it especially the ITrials. Temp prot is not really needed on a FA tank since u can get fire res maxed out with out it, as for slow a winters gift can cover that with ease.
The Might of the tanker might work better in BA and I would of taken that later on in the build, HF would of taken sooner. I redid the build to get your def up and moved some of your powers around for more survivability.

If you have access to mids the best bet is to try to make a build post it here and we can give you some pointers to it.

Does anyone else have any suggestions? This was the build New Dawn suggested:
Wow u have been away from the game for a long time, the glad proc has dropped in prices thanks to the e merits, and the converters it is now about 300 mil to 400 mill. I do not know why you want to get to s/l res hard cap with OWtS considering 1 it drains your end when it drops, 2 it dose not matter on your recharge it will still take a long time to come up.

Also, the psionic resist from Aegis and Impervium Armor have been boosted, and it seems more common as a set bonus now, making it easier to cover that hole.
I wouldnt get the leadership pool to unless they change that as well since almost all if it cost more end then what u get out of it. As for the fighting pool I will still not give it up.

My SR is over the SC without the fighting pool so yes you can do that too.
  13. Let me see an APEX team, 3 PI teams i believe, I was one of them leading the PI Team, thanks to all who came out, saw some familiar faces, and new ones. Thanks folks for making the 3rd year anniversary TTJ a great success.

Super Reflexes requires you to take most powers. I'd consider skipping Elude (the final power) and taking everything else.

Fire Armor has skippable powers: Temperature Protection first of all is quite skippable, maybe Consume is the next most skippable.

For both powersets I'd definitely consider the Fighting Pool - take one of the attacks (neither are great) and Tough and Weave - these add to your defensive primary powers.
Also grab a travel power from the pools - whatever you feel like.

Super Reflexes may benefit from the Medicine Pool, grab Aid Self since you have no self heal.

For your secondary, take as many attacks as you need to keep on attacking.

For Martial Arts you have more single target attacks than you need. You can drop one or even two of Crane Kick, Cobra Strike and Crippling Axe quite easily. Storm Kick is a must have, it adds to your Defence whenever you use it.
Um What? Fist of all Consume is a very useful power and should not be skipped, for 1 it is an AoE attack, 2 it lets you get your end back. As for the fighting pool, Boxing is something not to be laughed at. The only 2 powers I usally skip on my FA tanks is temp prot, and RotP.
  15. As long as its not pancakes which is a very bad rangle plot.
  16. Ok back to the OP, I have a lvl 50 SD/BA tank I really enjoy, and I am currently lvling one on champions, the only bad part I have to say bout the SD tank even with my end rec, and the energy mastery i still have to watch my end, even though it is IOed out. But the incarnates dose help with that.

Yes it is and I still do not know what tank to bring, I might just bring my fav who knows.

Well for some people I have seen even heightened senses aint save them. Sometimes it also depends on the player. Like I said, many people probably will stack up debt with this method. And then there are many that wont. Just like there are many dark armors that are beasts in the right hands and even before the issues where all the fancy IOs was available they still was beasting. Then someone else take that same build and end up deleting the build because they cant get it past 21.
Well I just have one thing to add to this, I believe I have mentioned this before on other post. It all depends on the way the player plays there toons. Before freedom launched I had someone asking me how dose my FA/Fire tank worked in game since they was having trouble with theirs using the same build. So I invited them to team with me and showed them on a few tip mish how I play my FA/Fire tank, and explained my attack chain. So if u can get away with out heighten senses, and it works for you great. I think some one else mentioned this but as long as you have fun with it and it works for you go for it.

I have several brutes and even an scrapper. I love doing high damage (my main is an fire/fire brute) and killing things fast.

But, I understand that tanks primary function is not damage, so I picked Willpower (never had one) because it seems, overall, the set with most combined things to survive. With that being said, I want to tank everything, and be the best tank possible.

I have underestimated the softcap previously, because its natural hi resistance in those elements (wich I now see as an mistake).

Before this thread I was very lost in the build, since I had no experience with the power choices, or even the AT itself.

So what do you suggest as RttC slotting?

Edit: I see you all with multiple /WM tanks, any special reason? Am I underestimating it? I pretty much picked to fit in the character background..

Thanks for putting the time to help me with this every1!
First off as for /WM I really have 1 of those and it is a low lvl toon. But for RttC I usually go with 2 or 3 numas, and a Taunt IO to help with migration since its aura is one of the weakest. ( think SR is weaker then WP got to check). But for the other ppl that had posted they have more experience in /WM so I would head there words of wisdom. I have had trouble before and both fin, and new dawn helped me out with my builds to make them better.

Whats Powerleveled? There are other servers out there besides freedom and most of them dont do PLing like they do on freedom.

I suspect you're taking all the ST attacks to slot KCs for S/L defense, but IMO it's not worth it, the loss of AoE damage will be significant.
It was a quick build for a friend to give him an idea. I am not very familiar with WM so any advise be most welcome fin. I just took my WP/SS and switched out the secondary to WM and filled in the slots real quick.

Rangle, that guy. Yeah, coming in like that is the wrong type of help. None of his posts at least in the past month has him correcting someone else's spellings or grammar or making a comment like he made to me. And if continue looking, I probably wont find one for at least a few more months. So he basically just singled me out to nit pick about grammar, and let it be the first thing he said.

I dont go to his post nit picking about grammar and spelling nor do I go to anyone else post and from the looks of it, not many other people do either. But nooooo, I cant make a spelling mistake, I cant make a grammar mistake. That's not allowed in his book. So he just moseyed on over he just to make a statement about the spelling. He claimed to couldnt have read it but he sure was able to read it good enough to pick out the spelling and grammar mistakes huh. If that is considered "help" then I want no part of it especially when just about every other post today and yesterday and probably further back than that gets off scot free with their mistakes.
You r wrong he corrected me just the other day here http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=292274
But back to your original post the information you was trying to give out was to confusing to read though. I will admit that I am not the greatest with grammar or spelling my self. To make the point on one of my toons I have a few words misspelled i have yet corrected. But a few ppl keep pointing it out to me.
